  1. Hmmm...don't know about that one. I *think* it's only the mainstream airlines but don't hold me to that!
  2. Welcome to Cruise Critic! Yes, as others above have stated...Costco (and others) very often do not forward informational emails on to you, even if it is rather important! This hammers home the fact that you really need to stay on top of things (as you did with your credit card statement) and watch for "red flags" or anything that looks a bit squirrelly. I have my very first sailing booked with a TA group after MANY times of booking direct. I'm not *expecting* there to be issues...but in the past when I have booked non-cruise trips with a TA (not the one I am currently booked with) we have had near disastrous emergencies pop up that should have been averted had the agent paid attention to details. I am very curious as to how this sailing next year will turn out...but I don't think it will convince me to switch over to TA bookings. I like "being in control" of my plans too much! That way...if there's a mistake made...I have no one to blame other than myself!! 😄
  3. It most certainly CAN make a difference. Android versions do not roll out until *usually* after IOS versions.
  4. We did the Pub Lunch on the Island back in October. First time we've had the opportunity.
  5. No...I've had a real issue with the lack of decent accounting in regards to excursions for quite some time. If you don't take screenshots and/or keep all emails that pertain to payments for excursions you have almost no chance of tracing what has happened. It has gotten to the point where I will only book one excursion at a time and then wait for the confirmation email in order to have an "audit log".
  6. I've wondered for some time when they were going to terminate the mailing. It really adds NOTHING as far as a benefit and has absolutely NO downside to the operation. Not to mention the cost of doing all that mailing.
  7. You are correct...I was aware of this but I did not want to bog down my previous response with such detail. I figured that if anybody was intrigued enough by what I said that they would investigate on their own. My main point was to get across the point that Medicare DOES NOT COVER YOU outside the US. You'd be surprised at how many people are not aware of this.
  8. We are Platinum level as well and ALWAYS take the Platinum coverage (paid for at standard rate.) It has saved us on 2 occasions. Doing so gives us a comfort level as far as protecting us in regards to travel-related issues. In addition to this we have annual medical coverage from GeoBlue Trekker that covers us while out of the country since Medicare does not cover us for international medical issues. Thankfully we have never had to actually *use* the GeoBlue coverage but it would be a real lifesaver should we ever need it. Medical evacuation from another country is outrageous.
  9. Strange. Usually when you book a sailing it automatically uses FCD without even asking. I would call in and explain what you want to do.
  10. One of our absolute BEST dining experiences was on board the Regal last November for a Transatlantic. We and our traveling companions (4 in all) did the Winemaker's Dinner. It was AWESOME! We were absolutely stuffed when we left and the food was excellent!
  11. It's entirely possible that the medical depart *might* have input into this decision. If they feel that there is a higher risk at that point in time then maybe they give it a veto. Pure speculation on my part.
  12. When you get to the payment screen, the default is to pay the full amount. Yes, you need to pay very close attention to what you're clicking when so much money is (potentially) involved. The same thing happens when you go in to just make a payment...the full remaining balance shows in the amount to pay field.
  13. They had the waterfall on the Discovery back in August...
  14. You *might* get better response in the Hawaii Port of Call section
  15. Here's one: https://www.amazon.com/GE-Integrated-Protection-Mountable-14833/dp/B0080Z7974/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2TZEELOW1DOT1&keywords=power%2Bstrip&qid=1669760145&sprefix=power%2Bstrip%2Caps%2C102&sr=8-3&th=1
  16. Well...you have to use one of those disposable seat covers...
  17. Clarification: Compulsory *only* while getting your food at the buffet. Once sitting...obviously no mask required.
  18. Much higher chance that Guest Services *could* track down the owner...given that they *know* who was in that stateroom. Now...whether they actually *will*.... ?
  19. Well...that raises an interesting (at least for me) question... "How does one find out who the captain is going to be for a future sailing?"
  20. I'm *really* curious as to the source of most of your info points. (Don't get me wrong...I'm NOT disputing ANYTHING you've said!) I've been saying for quite some time now that the Princess business relationship with SES has changed...exactly how I wasn't sure. You appear to have uncovered a lot more info since I last looked into it. Can you share your info source, please?
  21. It all depends on whether you can access the input connectors on the back of the TV. TVs are NOT standardized throughout the fleet...you *might* luck up and get one that has side connections.
  22. I rarely get an email confirmation when I cancel an excursion...the refund just appears back on my credit card within (usually) about 3 days.
