  1. Dear Island lady, I have been following along with you for the last two months. It has been a pleasure sharing in your travels and experiences. You are a beautiful person who faces life in a wonderful, positive way. Thank you for brightening my days with your stories and yes, your underlying uplifting philosophy. I wish you would have Bucky take a picture of you or have someone take a picture of you together. God bless you both and thank you. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  2. I know the Elite benefits but can someone who has been on the Summit recently give me a quick rundown of what this ship offers. Like…..how are they doing the happy hours and the breakfast?
  3. C-Dragon, in my case the drinks ARE mine. It’s called sharing what you’ve earned, not CHEATING. Royal gave me 4 drinks a day anytime. If I were staying in the same room with a friend, I would share my benefit with them. Had a Genie several times on Royal. When friends came to my room I didn’t care what they helped themselves to. Putting status before friends is just snooty!!!!
  4. Is there a limit to the number of drinks you can order like on RC? Order 2 and share. Out of the bartenders’ hands once they are handed to you. Smile at the CAMERAS.
  5. If it makes you feel any better, call the captains club number and click on the number for the automated info for your number of points. It should be correct. Yes, the website is having problems.
  6. Is the seafood tower gone in Chops (Anthem)? Can they make it on request with a little “Genie” power?
  7. Take it from this Jersey Girl, you will love my favorite, Anthem……..not too big, not too small…just right. The crew has always been great. (Still communicate with my favorite waiter.) Enjoyed the food from buffet to specialty. Entertainment was great. It will be new to you. People just complain because the main shows have been around for a while, but they are enjoyable. The only change I have noticed is there is a more casual vibe to cruising now. However, If you still like the “formal” you will find others who make that choice. One other “good “ comment. Jersey is one of the most relaxing ports to leave from. You will be greeted, guided, and on the ship in no time. Have a great cruise. Welcome back.
  8. Has anyone recently left from Bayonne Star Class? Pre Covid there was a location specifically marked for Star Class in front of the entrance. The Genie (or assistant) met you and escorted you on WITH the baggage carrier. Has this changed? Hopefully someone has done this recently. I am traveling with family in sky class so I assume they drop luggage off at pier and bring my husband and I to entrance. Thank you for any guidance. Leaving soon.
  9. Have any trouble getting desired reservations? I am on a fully booked Anthem cruise out of Bayonne in January. Last time Genie worked “her” magic and made all arrangements possible. If I try to start making reservations I will be charged. I know this will be returned, but it has to be credited back. My excursions are being taken care of on my own. Thanks, I’ll be patient.
  10. Put my FCCs to Star class. Do I still meet the Genie at terminal entrance with my luggage? I leave in January and haven’t heard from anyone yet. Are there any changes I should be aware of? Last time was pre covid. Thanks for any heads up.
  11. I am considering a day pass for my family of 4. What are the day pass rooms like and are they worth the additional cost for our visit from the cruise ship? I am also a Marriott rewards member with points. Any benefit there?
  12. Walkie talkies work fine all over Anthem. I know because my husband is blind and we find this the easiest communication when I am wandering around and he wishes to reach me from the room. Yes, we are older and don’t get all the techie stuff. Sometimes they are confiscated when boarding, but the explanation satisfies and they are returned. Once my husband was relaxing on the balcony and the room steward quickly cleaned up the room and inadvertently locked the balcony door. My husband contacted me by the pool and I returned to let him back in. We both laughed about it, but glad we had the walkie talkies. So keep laughing at us “old fogies” but we remain young at heart and have overcome a lot in life as we keep on cruisin’.
  13. I am still confused about the 11 night Covid testing requirements. Fully vaccinated can take their own home test as proof? How does that work? Leaving from US and fully vaccinated. On the Anthem winter Caribbean cruise out of Bayonne. Do I take a picture of the results? How does that prove it is my test? Or….. I can choose to PAY for a supervised test. Makes no sense o me. Need a little guidance here. Thanks.
  14. Where do I direct the taxi driver from the port?
  15. Where do I direct the taxi driver from the port?
  16. Where do I direct the taxi driver. Arriving in January. Thanks
  17. Can someone who has eaten in Wonderland and enjoyed it guide me through the ordering choices so I can make the most of the experience. Please share what you particularly enjoyed on the menu. I have been on the Anthem several times and have never eaten at this specialty. I would like to try it this cruise, but need a little help from those who have indulged. Thanks.
  18. I can’t remember. Does this Izumi have a Hibachi?
  19. I will be Star Class for January 2 Caribbean cruise. Does anyone know if the entertainment schedule is available somewhere yet? My husband and I usually like the tribute bands booked in January and wish to start planning specialty dining and entertainment to allow some just plain relaxation time. Thanks for any info or recommendations.
  20. Right On, PWP. Did this with OBC at guest services. I don’t remember getting a copy which would have been proof for any follow through errors. I use a travel agent to settle any problems with Royal. She usually has a rep to call. OBC is your money to use as desired. If done correctly it can provide a pleasant surprise to a crew member.
  21. Anyone have experience with Adventure of the Seas? I am a diamond member in a suite. There is no separate suite restaurant for dinner (yes, for breakfast only). I made 7o’click reservations for MTD. Also, my husband is disabled (blind). Can I get any priority for dinner or will I be standing in line? We book suites for the assistance they provide to make our travel easier for me with my husband. This ship was chosen by my sister for a cruise to celebrate her birthday, and we are going along. Should I speak to the Matre’d or concierge?
  22. I will be on a 5 night Bermuda cruise leaving on September 24 which follows the 9 night leaving the 15th (includes Canada). The ship is Adventure of the Seas. The “tentative” MDR menu does not list lobster on the menu any night except for purchase (the whole lobster or the tail with beef). This is my first 5 night. Most of my cruises are longer (7+). Won’t really have an answer until I return. Loved multiple tails for dinner! This ship has made several runs from Bayonne to Bermuda for the 5 nights. Any feedback?
  23. Like you, Mets123, every cruise I have taken from Cape Liberty has included a close pass by our Lady Liberty. Celebrity includes it as part of the itinerary. Anthem has done it as well. As has been said, you can see it from the port side balcony or out on deck. Hope you get a close view for your cruise. It’s an amazing sight.
  24. My thoughts exactly, shof515. Bermuda 5 night cruises out of Cape Liberty go through September. You can't get off the ship in Bermuda unless you pay your $40 and have a covid test. RC Was doing the checking before boarding. Now what?
