  1. It is trip insurance. You really should have trip insurance for a cruise. Whether Cunard Care is better or worse than other trip insurance is not for me to say. You need to do your own research and compare policies.
  2. You are correct, Cunard would only offer a Q5, the TA website had a Q6 open also. So the price difference was between a Q5 & Q6.
  3. We booked though a large warehouse chain here in the US. The 8% commission is returned to us as a gift card. We'll also get 1% as store credit and 2% back from the branded credit card, for a total of an 11% discount - not bad. They also have travel insurance. Last crossing they offered the commission as OBC and it didn't show. They bugged Cunard until about 3/4 of the way through before it finally showed. So they will work for their customers. Their website also showed more cabin availability than Cunard's. Cunard offered a Q6 midship and the travel site offered us a Q6, slightly more forward for $1000 less. We were more forward last time, with no ill effects.
  4. We had a window table on our last crossing. It was nice, sure people were walking by but no one was rude.
  5. The staff is very knowledgeable on the drinks package. Last crossing we had the included $12 drinks package. The trick is to ask for your liquor and for a bottle of tonic, then it's considered 2 different orders. If you ask for a vodka tonic then it's whatever the drink costs. So you would ask for a 2 oz Grey Goose and a bottle of Schweppes.
  6. So, exactly how do they know if you tested positive in the last 7 days? Your noting of the lack of requirements for the flu or RSV is spot on.
  7. How does the Veranda compare to say a Smith & Wollensky's?
  8. Please note that are many things that cause coughing besides covid. Why I even heard coughing before 2020.
  9. 3 hours in London??? What's the point? London is a muti-day trip.
  10. Well whatever the reason we get 2 extra nights for free plus $100 in OBC. A win in my book.
  11. My email stated that the OBC was not transferable and would be lost on rebooking.
  12. Notified this morning that the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal is no longer available on Oct 6, 2024. So the departure has been pushed back 2 days to Oct 4. QM2 will now stop in Newport and Boston on the way out. Arrival in Southampton remains the same. No fare changes, but I assume if you've not yet booked that the fare will rise some due to the 2 extra days on the itinerary. I didn't realize that the schedule ever had that much slop in it, so I'm guessing the previous cruise has 2 nights removed, feel sorry for those folks.
  13. Well, in 2019 we were on a crossing in QG on the QM2 - there was no DVD player in our suite. Depending upon the TV you might be able to take a dongle and cast to it.
  14. Seems reasonable, except for that open mouth chewing nonsense. 😂
  15. I searched, sorry if I missed the answer. We have book a west bound crossing in fall of 2024. Last time we had a nice window table for 2 and enjoyed it, but we frequently chatted with the table of 4 beside us. This time we have decided upon a table of 6, to meet new people. What is the proper etiquette for dining in a group like this. Are the first people to the table expected to wait a bit or do we just start when we arrive? We don't want to be rude, but neither do we want to wait an hour if the other folks decide to eat later.
  16. Since they are currently retrofitting the QM2 with StarLink one would have to assume that the QA would come out with it from the first.
  17. Sad that people would be rude and disturb other diners by traipsing through.
  18. Good news, I have Star Link at home and it works well. Now if they'll just make it make it free for Grills passengers ......
