We will be getting onboard on the 31st when you arrive back in NY.  I realize you're going a bit further north than we will be but can you give me an idea about clothing for going ashore.  Is it warm enough to be comfortable in shorts or should I pack more jeans and long sleeved shirts.  I looked at temps for all out ports (yesterday) and the highs and lows were low to mid 70's during the day and low 50's at night.

We got off in NY on Monday.  I brought a pair of leggings, a light rain jacket, a few t- shirts, and tank tops (and shorts). It rained in Saguenay, Charlottetown, and Sydney with Sydney also being pretty windy. I wished I had brought a couple more t-shirts and one more pair of leggings.

What do you mean 'United' we are flying United to Ny and then home from Quebec. I have not seen any request to fill out any forms. There was of course the covid test before returning to US but that has been eliminated.

Passports have been added. For some reason it keeps showing this.

  3. For those departing from Canada. Our flight has a layover in Toronto before the final destination of Quebec.  According to ArriveCan, we are to put our final destination and not the layover.

The Island thread mentioned 200 positive out of 800 b2b passengers.  No wonder they didn’t “volunteer”.

I missed the thread.  Can you point me to it? My parents are currently on Island. They were supposed to stay on on Monday for the next trip, but dad tested positive yesterday.  Communication from mom before that said there were at least 40 cases of covid and at least 12 cabins on their deck with it (unknown which deck).

Ok after a few last minute Covid test adventures we are on board for our 40th Anniversary!  I’ll post pictures of the Patter as we go along. My wife just got a massage and I go in a hour. They had a 25% off special on embarkation day. We are in a suite so we get free Crown Dinner tonight. This cruise is two back to back Eastern Caribbean cruises but with different ports each week. Much more to come

I'll be on this ship in August and considering a massage.  Can you share the onboard price before the discount? Thank you!

I have been watching availability of rooms for a while on the Caribbean as I am cruising on her soon.  The one section that never seemed to be available to book was the Aloha deck port side from the back elevators towards the front (and I think a little of the front starboard side).  They may have opened up some of those rooms at some point and I missed it but I'm pretty sure this is the general area.  This matches with what rooms they have been using for isolation on this class of ships since the restart.

I'm booked on A515 in August.  Does that cabin seem to possibly be a quarantine cabin?

Thanks Norm. I actually did give the Conundrum a try. You’re right, it didn’t have too much acidity, but I’m learning I’m just a “fruity” wine kind of guy. Maybe because we have a blueberry, blackberry, peaches, muscadine and persimmon farm back home and I’ve just grown fond of that smooth, fruity taste. But thanks for your thoughts! 😁

I'm a huge fan of sweet wines.  I'm not sure what your Florida leg looks like.  But I highly recommend Florida Orange Groves Winery.  They're located in St. Pete but have satellite stores in other areas.  All fruit based, they don't use grapes.

  8. Hello.  I tried searching for the answer, but I think my search terms are too broad. I'm doing a cruise this summer and booked my outbound flight through EZ Air. I've never used this before. Final payment was due today.  Can someone advise what benefit there would be to requesting early ticketing? TIA

The last time we were there we were able to rent a car for $30 a day.  With 4 passengers that was quite the bargain.  We drove to the fort easily and spent most of our day there.  I agree that you must choose one direction to drive, the distances aren’t that great but the roads can be busy in the afternoon. At the fort there are interpreters at each building but I did not notice that there is guided tour.  It is a part of the national park system and you can find lots of information on that website.

    Who did you rent through?

I walked off with my bags .  Cleared customs at 6:50 and was home at 7:50.  Laundry is being done as I type.  It was great seeing John and Laura again and meeting some of you that I have been chatting with for years.  It was fun

I'm still not home 😭. Our flight out of Orlando was at 2:20. Our connection out of Dallas is at 8:45. We don't land until 11.

FYI, it appears the forward section of Deck 8 interior cabins is blocked off. Will check other floors later today

I realized last night, when I ignored the sign and popped in to use the restroom, that those were probably quarantined cabins.  There were nightstands and food containers outside the doors.

If you want the cheap ones any Walmart, CVS or Walgreens. There is also a West Marine not to far from the port and a Pro Bass about 6+- miles from the port. With all the time you have before your cruise I would start looking on line.

I found a pair at Target for $4!!!  Living in MN I was afraid they'd all be gone right now.
