  1. I need a new backpack. Can you tell me more about this one? Thanks!
  2. I run paranoid about my passport. So I usually check it at least once a year 😄
  3. Last year my parents did a TA and then were supposed to stay on for this (or a similar) itinerary. They caught Covid and had to disembark in England. So they're trying again and are on the ship with you. I'll be eagerly scanning your pics to see if I spot them, kinda like "Where's Waldo" 🤣
  4. This might be late. But, I have something very similar and it works great.
  5. I'm no help because we're doing our second Alaska cruise next year. This past August we did Canada/ New England southbound. And on day 2 I decided that I'm doing that one again some day.
  6. We were in the CB in August. First time I've ever understood why people were always so concerned with who the CD is. Kristoff and crew were superb.
  7. Do you have a Total Wine by you? If so, you should be able to get Amarula from there. Did your server tell your what it's made from?
  8. I did this cruise on the same ship this past August. Yes, you can embark either day. If you fly in on the 4th, or before (which I highly recommend), then I recommend going ahead and board on the 4th. Use the cabin as your hotel that night. Keep in mind, if you have a connection on Toronto, there are only so many flights to Quebec each day. We were supposed to arrive in Quebec at 5:30pm on Wednesday. We didn't get there until 9:30am Thursday morning. Also, keep every single piece of your flight paperwork. If there a delay, and you're flying Air Canada, you may be eligible for reimbursement. My partner and I both boot l got 1k CAD, although mine wasn't without a fight.
  9. Sadly no. Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan.
  10. Hello. Booked on Sapphire Princess Southbound June 2024. This trip to Alaska I really want to do whale watching. How is whale watching in Ketchikan? Is it a good as it better than Juneau? Thank you.
  11. Yep, I read it wrong earlier. It's Elite who can book tomorrow, everyone else on Wednesday.
  12. Captains Circle on 12/6, everyone else 12/7. I sent my requirements to my mom (my TA 😁) last night. We've been talking so she knows what I want. I gave her a range of cabins, cabin category, and deck. I'm nothing if not thorough.
  13. Thank you! I'm actually allergic and do try to avoid as much as possible. We're looking at southbound and my friend wants us to have our balcony "on the side where we can see land". 😁 We'll humor her.
  14. Oh that's good to know. We just did the Caribbean Canada/ New England this past August and were on Aloha. We also have a friend planning on joining us as a solo this trip who will be planning on using our balcony.
  15. It looks like deck 8 has the lifeboats. Is the view blocked by those at all?
  16. Hello. Looking at booking Sapphire for Alaska in 2024 when it opens next week. Are there any preferences/ thoughts/ opinions on the Dolphin (9), Caribe (10), or Baja (11) decks? I haven't seen a lot of posts related to this ship in particular outside of why it's preferred for Alaska. So appreciate any thoughts.
  17. Based on the document provided earlier in the thread, it appears the times will probably be the same as 2023.
  18. If you like sweet drinks, then I highly recommend the Egyptian Zombie. The app said it was an Explorer's Lounge specialty.
  19. My parents and their friends are on this cruise with you. The friends don't actually know my parents are on it, they're being surprised 😀. So I'll definitely be following to see if I see any of them in the background. Happy belated birthday!
  20. I'm starting to lean towards DIY. I have a friend who wants to do the cruise with us and if we DIY, it may end up cheaper for her (no extra costs for being single).
  21. Hello. Looking at doing Alaska again in 2024. My partner and I just the cruise previously (cost constraints at the time) and regretted not having the land portion. So in 2024 we will definitely have a land portion included. Wondering if anyone has done a DIY land tour and your thoughts? If anyone has done both the cruise line land tour and a DIY and your thoughts. Thank you! **Edited to add regarding land tour, we would be looking to do whatever would hopefully allow us to see the most wildlife. So would be OK with renting a car to just travel places for DIY.
  22. We got off in NY on Monday. I brought a pair of leggings, a light rain jacket, a few t- shirts, and tank tops (and shorts). It rained in Saguenay, Charlottetown, and Sydney with Sydney also being pretty windy. I wished I had brought a couple more t-shirts and one more pair of leggings.
  23. Passports have been added. For some reason it keeps showing this.
