  1. That's going to be a no-go. If you cannot safely transfer between two rocking vessels without them being anchored together, meaning that they are moving independently, then you should not and usually cannot use the tender. There is no way to do it safely. From Princess: When tendering is required, passengers using mobility devices will not be transferred into or out of the tender, if lifting in excess of the above limitation is required. Many tender ports do not provide wheelchair access so even if the passenger can board the tender they may not be able to disembark ashore. Again the shore-side facilities, movement of the tender, weather and tidal conditions can also preclude tendering. https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/faq_answer_legal/Passengers-with-Limited-Mobility.pdf Another example from RCI: Guests with assistive devices who are unable to take a few steps will be unable to board tenders unless roll-on capability is available. In order to safely board most tenders, guests must be able to take steps and use a collapsible manual wheelchair. In addition, motorized wheelchairs and mobility scooters can not be taken on tenders, unless roll-on capability is available. Inquire about tender roll-on capability at Guest Relations Desk while on board. Please note roll-on capability is not guaranteed. Weather, sea conditions and other factors may preclude tendering. Safety of our guests and crew is our primary consideration, and the Captain and his staff will make the final decision regarding transferring guests and their assistive devices based on safety reasons. If guests are unable to tender or disembark because of due to these circumstances, there will be no refund or credit for missed ports. While we recognize your disappointment, the safety of our guests and crew takes precedence. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/experience/accessible-cruising/additional-assistance Seems pretty clear.
  2. No one has ever asked to examine my medallion. They want to see that you're carrying one. But okay.
  3. They don't look at the Medallion. At all. You scan the thing. Your profile appears on the tablet. They look at the picture, they look at you. They see the dates on the tablet that indicate you're supposed to be there. Off you go.
  4. Harv and Marv is awesome and highly recommended. Choosing whale watching in Juneau is best done by comparing price and number of people on an individual trip. I prefer a smaller crowd, for example, and will pay the premium for it. Don't give too much thought on sticking with Princess for your excursions in Juneau. It's very safe in terms of getting back to the ship on time.
  5. ?!? Are you likely to forget the name of the ship you're on, or your own name?
  6. If you're looking for options, the medallions fit perfectly into Apple AirTag holders. Lots of choices there, clips, lanyards, straps, keychains....
  7. Discovery is a Royal-class ship. The two ships have more in common than not.
  8. Most power adapters are not UL listed and are of varying quality. The safest option is the extension cord from the desk. Signed, Fellow Must-Have-Travel-Fan Person
  9. Crooner's Bar for the piano sing-alongs. It's hit or miss on Princess. Really depends if the performer can get the crowd into it. I've seen it go both ways. Good look around the pool decks here: Take a closer look at what Lotus Spa has to offer in terms of indoor hot tubs that may be what you're looking for.
  10. Thank you all for the comments. Much appreciated.
  11. Hello. When can we expect to see excursions posted for cruise tour dates at Princess Lodges? We are booked for a May 2025 cruise tour. I expect its a little early, but I am seeing excursions for the usual SE AK ports posted already. Also, any recommendations for excursions at Denali and McKinney lodges? Thanks.
  12. I don't know. These days I just roll up to the terminal around 12:00 and walk right onto the ship. Really just a short fast-moving line at security and that's about it. What really should have worn off for long-time guests is the novelty of rushing to the terminal to be among the first to board. But I suppose my easy boarding routine at noon is dependent upon the herd arriving early, so...
  13. This is good advice for nearly every situation on board.
  14. Every single time I've crushed to Cabo they use the ships tenders in addition to the local tender services. The little white and blue boats that sit there and bob around in the water next to the ship waiting their turn...
  15. PVSA, not Jones. Jones is cargo. PVSA is passenger vessels.
  16. What port? What ship? The boarding experience differs from port to port.
  17. To be clear, this is fully paid, BUT before the cruise final payment date, correct?
  18. Honest to god. They taste like they were prepared days in advance and stored in the engine room ahead of delivery to the staterooms
  19. Not all. The forward minis (L107 and the like) are RC.
  20. Some of the responses were not guesses. Including mine.
  21. 100% agree. There is no comparison. Sounds snobby, but Sabatini's really is a breakfast experience. Nice, quiet, private, tucked out of the way. No din of the large dining room. No mucking about with crowds and wading through the Piazza in the morning. Aft and up to deck 16 -- the opposite direction most of the ship is going. Wake view, personalized service. Did I mention the tray of danishes they bring around? C'mon, it's a no brainer. No doubt MDR/RC is fine. Sabatini's is objectively better.
  22. Sabatini's 100%. Service is first class, personal, quiet. They come around with a tray of little danishes with your coffee which are just absolutely wonderful. Just off a 10 day not too long ago. Never set foot in the MDR/Reserve Class for breakfast. Going to miss it next time -- no suite on that one.
