  1. Puffinator...we took the Hotwire bid and it was a three star. We also used a $20. coupon from Hotwire. Cannot remember the ammenities but they were the same as described in the 'better bidding' site. The key differentiator was the tennis nearby icon. IF we had bid Priceline, this would be a 3 1/2 star. We are now going to bid Priceline for a post cruise stay but we really wanted to be in the downtown area for precruise.

Thanks for the info. Hotwire is a bit pricey for our trip right now so I will just keep checking it.

  2. Sheraton Old San Juan-Hotwire Bid

    Dec. 10-Dec. 13

    $109. plus taxes

Wanted this hotel so did not chance Priceline. May have paid too much, don't know but it seems good. Will try bidding our post cruise hotel on Priceline.

Thanks. Can you let me know star rating and what icons were showing or if it is still there? Need a room for March. Thanks.

  3. Thanks, Puffinater. I really appreciate it. I was called today by the Associated Press. Keep your eyes on the media in the coming days. I don't know where or when the story might be published, but I'll try to give everyone a head's up. :)

Do you think I should ask the mods to re-name my thread to something more likely to be opened?

I hope the AP picks it up.

As for renaming the thread might be worth a shot.

  4. I wonder what the color of the neck scarf signifies? Enquiring minds want to know!:p

    Just found this thread.

On RCI they signify levels of experience. I am having a brain fart and can't recall which is which ... one signifies less than a year on ship one is a supervisor and the third well I just plain forget.

    Great thread.

  5. I found the same thing. It appears that Hotwire is not showing a San Pedro hotel. If they have one available they show it as San Pedro. I would not suggest trying Hotwire until it shows San Pedro. Looks like Priceline is listing the CP at $176. That is rather high and an indication of why you are not having sucess.

  6. Wow that is a great price! I've been trying for the CP in San Pedro forever now and I'm up to $95 with no success. I'm scared to go much higher because I don't want to get the Doubletree. (The Crowne is always listed as slightly lower in price.) We need 4 rooms too. I think in the end we're going to have to book the non-refundable internet rate of $144. :(

There is a report here of $97 for the CP. Even at $97 you will be saving off the posted rate of $144. Keep trying. Also the 3.5 star on Hotwire is usually the CP.
