  1. I agree with all the responses that it is ultimately your responsibility to keep track of when a final payment is due. However, I would add that most if not all travel agents give you a due date before that of the cruise line's cutoff date. I know the one we generally use gives a date one week earlier than the cruise line. This gives him the opportunity if we miss his due date to remind us with still some time to spare to make that final payment. So, although it is your responsibility, I do think your TA does bear some responsibility.
  2. Some of us are Luddites. 😉 I subscribe to something Kurt Vonnegut once wrote, technology should have ended with the invention of the electric guitar. 🤣
  3. GREAT NEWS! I now have them. I tried and a page came up that had our reservation #, my last name, and first initial. And then log in, but when I clicked on that it said the docs were not read. 😢 even though both the website and everyone I have spoken to at NCL says they are ready. I called again, and they switched me to the IT department. And now they are there! 😊 I just wish they had done that previously as I have been trying to download them since Saturday.
  4. Tried again with both my TA and an NCL rep on the line. She sent me a link to reset my password, but it just kept spinning around until I was finally told that the site had taken too long and now it could not be reached. The rep said you don't really need the documents as long as the check in is completed, which it is. Also said it would cut off tomorrow being 4 days before the cruise.
  5. I tried on a different computer by going to the library. It first told me it was going through an insecure connection, and others might be able to read. Not worried, I said go to it. And it came up COULD NOT FIND THE SERVER.
  6. OMG, is this supposed to be an improvement from their newer ships, lifeboats that cannot double as tender boats? 🤦‍♂️😒
  7. Yes, they told me tough, the cruise contract allows it. They even wanted to give me non-refundable (at least according to the rep I talked to) OBC for the excursion we bought for one of the cancelled ports (Zeebrugge for Brugge). Eventually, I did get them to credit it back to my card because their policy allowed that for cancelled excursions made early.
  8. My DW always tried when they first opened in the morning.
  9. They could have had lifeboats that are certified to use as tenders instead of the lifeboats that they have.
  10. It is one thing to change ports for a good reason, for instance we are disappointed that our port in Belgium is cancelled, but we understand that if the low tide is only 1 foot, the ship cannot dock. It is quite another when a port is listed, and the ship misses it every cruise or that they still advertise a port after they know they have cancelled it.
  11. Yes, I have been told that, but I still would rather have them. It does seem a lot of things do not work with NCL. 😒
  12. DW is a lap swimmer. She tries on cruise ship pools, but it is hard as they are small and often crowded. There was one time on a ship she really did get to do laps having the pool to herself. The cruise ran into a hurricane, and we could not get back to Fort Lauderdale on time. At one point the Captain took us closer to land so passengers could get cell phone service to call home and/or their travel agents. The pool had waves like the ocean, and DW had the pool to herself in the morning. By the afternoon they had drained the pool.
  13. Still can't download the e-docs. Called NCL again and this time after putting me on hold they said to call my TA and have him do it through the portal and then e-mail them to me. I called and he was also unable to download them. He said he will call them tomorrow morning and then get back to me.
  14. Will they ban you from the dining room and/or buffet if the medallion bathroom technology shows inadequate hand washing?
  15. We had a shore excursion cancelled because prior to the cruise, NCL cancelled the port. The e-mail I received said we would be getting onboard credit. I called and objected to this wanting it to be refunded to my card. The rep finally said she would go to the resolutions department, and they had it refunded to my card because their own policy seems to be you can cancel for a refund to your card up to 48 hours before the scheduled excursion.
  16. We also had what we thought was going to be a fantastic excursion. And I am sure anyone reading this this board, the NCL board, and/or our roll call knows how disappointed we are. I have a feeling that you were booked with a relatively (at least for Iceland) large tour provider. We were booked with a small businesswoman. And I really feel for her. NCL has not only inconvenienced the passengers, but also hurt the business people from this port.
  17. Hope that the ship has a lot of activities. 🤣 I'm sure my DW is hoping there is ballroom dancing.
  18. So, with the wonderful medallion technology, they have in their database how often you go to the bathroom? 🤦‍♂️
  19. I do know the issue has been raised previously (possibly in the Ask a Cruise Question forum.) I specifically asked about whether all lifeboats were certified as tenders. And @chengkp75 shared his knowledge and explained how there were different certifications for lifeboats and boats that could be used as tenders.
  20. We have been basically using the same TA who is the President of his agency. And no, I do not know what his face looks like, but I do think I know him. And he knows who I am when I call. There was one cruise where my DW found an incredible price from one of the large faceless agencies. I went back to our regular TA, and he could not match it as he said they must have bought a lot of cabins and the cruise line would not let him. We took that deal, but I did not like that when I called I was just a number and always dealt with different people. We went back to our regualr agent after that. he was grateful and did say he understood why we could not really turn down the other agency's deal on the previous cruise.
  21. For the Prima NCL was expecting the dock to be finished. It is not. The lifeboats on the Prima are not certified to be used as tenders. I am assuming those on the Star are certified as for use as tenders.
  22. I called NCL, and what I was told was they were having a problem today. Try tomorrow, or maybe Monday is what she then said. I had also tried to get spa prices since DW mentioned she was interested in a message, and nothing would come up. I wonder if that is part of the same website problem.
