  1. Thanks for all of the well wishes. Captain says departure at 3:45. Ready to go!
  2. Good morning, and happy Friday! It's 39F here with high of 50F. Yesterday we broke a very old record, hit 59F! Not bad for Wisconsin! Last evening we had severe thunder storms and a tornado hit about 1.5 hours away from us, lots of damage being found this am. First time a tornado hit in Wisconsin in February, sad for those with damage. It's very rural there and farms/barns were damaged. I think we're packed and ready to go on our voyage! The soup sounds good, haven't been to the port, but did read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Sure made you think about the horrors of war. @StLouisCruisersPrayers for you DGD, I can't imagine the fear that attack would cause... @JazzyVPrayers that you get relief soon from your back pain. Thanks for all of your updates to the caring list. Prayers and good thoughts for all who need them, and cheers to all celebrating and traveling! Thanks for the caring and sharing here, the pictures today are great! K
  3. Happy Hump Day! It's 48F and cloudy here. We have 2 ballerinas in our family, and one of them will be in her school play in April. They're doing Wonka Jr. Can't wait to see that! We're busy packing, and will see St. Thomas next week, getting excited! Hugs, prayers and good thoughts for all that need them, cheers for everyone cruising! have a good rest of your day, K
  4. Greetings from a sunny, warm (38F) day in Wisconsin! The drink does not sound good, haven't been to the port, and I'm wondering what a "hot pot" is? @Denise TWow about your stove, happy to hear you figured out how to get it off, how scary! @smitty34877Sorry to hear that Tana is not doing well, hoping you can get some help soon. @JazzyVSorry to hear your pain and numbness are so bad, hoping you can get some help moving your furniture, etc. Do you have a date yet for the procedure? @GeorgeCharlieThanks for the interesting info about the statues! I've been looking at East coast Canada cruises, would like to go, but air travel is not easy for us to get there! Prayers for all who are having bad weather. We are having an abnormally warm, dry winter. Heard about King Charles an hour ago, hoping all goes well for him. I've been busy trying to finish up some lap quilts I've made, the binding is not my favorite part to do! Have a good day, back to work for me! Prayers for all that need them and cheers to those celebrating and cruising! K
  5. Happy Groundhog day! The groundhog at our zoo died last year, so this year penguins are going to predict how much longer our winter will be! There is no sun now, so we shall see what they say at 9am. We've had a very mild winter so far, hoping it continues. The ski areas are not happy. There isn't much snow "up north" either. The lakes have barely enough ice for ice fishing. The beef stew sounds good today! i'm not sure about the drink or the wine. Haven't been to the port, but I'm ready to look at pictures today. We'll be on a BHB soon, and I'm starting to get things ready to pack today, getting excited! Thanks to everyone who cares and shares here. K
  6. When do they usually assign boarding times? Not seeing anything on our boarding pass yet.
  7. Good afternoon, from a sunny day in Wisconsin! It was 49F when I was in the car earlier! I might like the soup today, the drink sounds good, I think my niece made me one a while back. We have mint in the garden, may have try one when it's growing. Thanks for all of the photos and sharing today. @marshhawksorry to hear about your Bubbles...hugs to you. @smitty34877sorry to hear about all of the sickness in your household, prayers everyone gets better soon. To all who are celebrating and on cruises...Enjoy! hugs to those who need them. lo We did a partial transit of the Panama Canal in February last year, on the Eurodam. Our DGD recently graduated from college and studied supply chain issues...I showed her pictures and videos of all of the cargo ships, it was hard to believe there were so many of those ships....lots of Amazon orders in process! LOL. It was amazing how close the ship was to the walls of the canal. The morning was very crowded on the observation deck. We stayed on the ship, and the afternoon return trip was much less crowded, could see a lot more. We walked around the ship to see the different views. Have a good rest of your day! K
  8. Happy Wednesday! It's in the high 30's right now, spring like! I'll take it! I appreciate my SS deposit every month, like everyone else, I contributed for a long time. I'll say no to the food, and yes to the drink. Don't remember having a brandy Alexander, but I do remember Grasshoppers! Haven't been to the port, but the pictures all look very nice. Thanks to all who share! Safe travels for all who are cruising, @Cruzin Terrihave fun! @smitty34877I pray Tana doesn't get sick. Have a good day, Karen

  10. Happy Friday, it's in the high 30's here, but another foggy, rainy day! I'll be happy when the sun comes back again. Temps are supposed to stay warmer next week. Haven't been to the port, the soups look yummy, and NO to the dental drill...the dentist is not my favorite place to go. @ger_77thinking of you and your DH today. Thanks for all of the pictures today. Have a good day, Karen
  11. Good afternoon, it's a very foggy, dreary day here. I'm hoping it will rain, my car needs a bath. I didn't get here yesterday, i helped with a funeral lunch at church, was there for 5 hours! @ger_77praying your DH gets to see someone today to figure out what's going on. @StLouisCruisersthe valentine tree is beautiful! Where does she store all of her decorations?😊 Prayers for all that need them and cheers to those celebrating and cruising!
  12. Good morning, it's not a very nice day here. It's in the 30's and raining/sleeting. Everything is coated with ice. Poor Cooper had a rough time getting out the back door this morning...too slippery. Happy Birthday @smitty34877 and @DWAliaschief! Have a good day! My handwriting is bad! Our DGD in 5th grade knows cursive, I don't remember learning it. @RMLincoln and @Cruzin Terri Safe travels and good thoughts for you today as you travel for medical appointments. Have a good day, Karen
  13. Happy Monday! It's in the upper 20's here, but there is a damp mist in the air. Our back patio was clear of ice, but now it's coated with a nice glaze... @dfishThe veggies look great today, I saved the 1st recipe. @ger_77Sorry to hear about Deb and her battle with cancer. I think about her parents, and how everyone helped them get home. Thanks for all of the pictures and sharing! I'm thinking good thoughts for all on the care list and "Yay!" for those cruising and celebrating! Have a good day, Karen
  14. Happy Sunday, from a warmer day here. The sun is shining, it was -2F this but it's +19F now! I'll take it. Supposed to hit 30's tomorrow! The pictures today look very nice, thanks for sharing! I like sweatpants, and wear joggers most days. I'm going for comfort, not style in my "old" age! I don't know if these qualify for cheesy socks, I made them a while back! @atexsixSorry to hear about your dad entering Hospice care. Prayers that you can keep him comfortable. As others have said, make sure you take care of yourself also. Thanks for sharing... Thanks to all who care and share here... Have a good rest of the day, we're sad our Packers lost last night, but they did have a good game, and a great season for a lot of new players! Can't upload the picture! Tried again, and it worked!
  15. Happy Saturday, it was +4F when I got up, supposed to get to the 30's in the coming week, maybe we can get the ice off the back step! @seagarsmokergood to hear about the job offer! @rafinmdThanks for sharing all of your cruising memories here! I wait for your meal suggestions every day! Thanks for all of the caring and sharing here! We're off to DGD's basket ball game!
  16. Good morning from another chilly, snowy day in Wisconsin. It was around +5F when I got up, with maybe 2 more inches of fluffy snow on the ground. That snow has messed with the roads, and there are many accidents all around the city. Everyone is excited about the Packers vs. SanFrancisco game tomorrow! Go Packers! Haven't been to the port, the meal sounds good, not sure about the drink! Popcorn is good, we have a local store that makes and sells many flavors of kettle corn, they are all very good! Looking forward to pictures today. @ger_77Sorry to hear about your DH and his heart condition. Prayers that he can have surgery and get is fixed so yo can start planning another cruise. @seagarsmokerthinking about you as you wait to hear about the job. Have a good day, Karen
  17. Good morning from a sunny but cold day. It's +2F now with a high of 14. Warmer weather next week. Haven't been to the port today, but the pictures look fun. I'm making chicken noodle soup in the slow cooker today, made a loaf of market bread yesterday. The stew also looks good. Cheers to Betty White and Benjamin Franklin. We've been to San Francisco and rode the cable cars there. @ottahand7sorry to hear about your bad night...hoping you feel better soon. It's no fun being sick when you're away from home. @marshhawkGood thoughts for your DH today...praying all goes well. @grapau27Good to see you back again! @JazzyVhoping you get some answers soon for your pain issues. Thanks for all of the caring and sharing here. Have a good day! Karen
  18. Happy Tuesday, we're at 1F today, supposed to hit the 40's next week. I'll take that. We need a fire breathing dragon here. Icicles dripped on our back door stoop, and then the sub zero temps came. The ice is very thick and we can't even chop it. That step is treacherous right now! Haven't been to the port, but the pictures look very nice today. The chard might be interesting, tried to grow it once, but didn't have much luck. @rafinmdHoping your appointment went well today. Be careful with the snow shoveling. Ours was very heavy and wet, not fun to shovel. @ottahand7Good to hear that you're feeling better. Last year we were on a bus with a cougher right behind us, and of course no mask. Finally I asked her if she was OK? We had our masks on, but most did not. By the end of the cruise, there were lots of coughing people all over. @RMLincolnHope you get to your appointment ok. Our county ex. just sent an email about our roads, the snow came so fast and then the sub zero temps which made it hard for the plows to keep up, leading to hard packed snow on the roads. Have a good rest of your day, Karen
  19. Happy Monday and MLK day. We had an interesting weekend here. 15 inches of wet, heavy snow, and now the frigid temps. Was -6F when I got up this morning. We lost power Friday night for 15 hours, and then the Spectrum internet was out for 48 hours...came back last night just in time to see the Packers win in Texas! The forecast is for the temps to be around 0 until Wednesday! Haven't been to the port, the drink does not sound good, but the chili does! Couldn't read much here over the last few days, prayers for all that need them and cheers for those celebrating! I'm ready to be someplace warm! Thanks to all for sharing and caring. Have a good day. Karen
  20. Good morning from a 'snow day' in Wisconsin. It's coming down fast, and not supposed to stop until tomorrow. Schools were all closed already last night--this is the 2nd cancelled day for the week. The forecast also includes very cold days for next week. Not looking forward to that! We've been to Alaska, but not Sitka, looking forward to pictures. 'No' to butternut squash, the drink sounds interesting. Prayers for all that need them and cheers to the rest. I'm hearing about lots of flu, and other illness going around. Our dear GS and his girlfriend are very sick with the flu, a young man from church is in the hospital with the flu, strep and pneumonia. Lots of kiddos were coughing at school the other day, with several out sick also. Prayers for all of them also. Stay safe everyone! Karen
  21. Happy Thursday! We had maybe 3 more inches of snow last nite. 10 inches is in the forecast for Friday into Saturday. Then much colder temps. The sun just came out, haven't seen that in many days! I'm off to get some groceries... Haven't been to the port, the food looks interesting, insulin is a good thing, and yes, smoking is bad. @StLouisCruisersHappy birthday to your dear Ren! @Cruzin TerriGood luck at the Dr. today. @kochleffelI like your commentary! Congrats to all celebrating, and hugs to those who need them. Have a good day! karen
  22. Happy Wednesday! The meal sounds good today, haven't been to the port, i made chocolate chip cookies yesterday with semi sweet chips. As for house plants, I took some clippings from my basil plant and started them inside, they're growing, but not very fast. @kazuhope you heal quickly, and your arm doesn't hurt too bad. Good thing you have a generator. People in our area did also lost power last night. Your map of Canada weather doesn't look fun! @HAL SailerPrayers that 2024 is better for you. We had about 3 inches of snow yesterday, with lots of wind. Many branches down this morning. More snow over the next few days, maybe 10 inches total...not looking forward to that! Thanks for all of the caring and sharing here. Karen
  23. Wow, I just looked at the weather radar for the east coast...stay safe everyone!
  24. Happy Tuesday from a wintry day here. It's been snowing all day, but was too warm to stick. Now, it's starting to accumulate. Schools were cancelled last night already, worried about the afternoon commute. The weather peeps say 5+ inches. More snow forecast for Friday. @Cruzin TerriGlad you made it to your destination, hoping all goes well. @marshhawksorry to here your appointment didn't go so well yesterday... @rafinmdThanks for explaining your treatment, hoping all goes well for you. @Nickelpennyyour stroganoff looks good! Homemade noodles, wow! Prayers for all who need them, and the cruising people are making me excited about our cruise next month! I'm ready to work on my next quilt, just finished watching All Creatures Great and Small, a wonderful show! I'd love to visit the area where they film! Have a good rest of the day, Karen
