One more thing to note is that even though they say you can't use OBC for medical charges, it's always worked for us.

They just charge the invoice to your folio, and then the OBC is put against it and any balance will show owing at checkout and be charged to the card on file.

Interesting.   The two times I have gone to medical on a ship, I went directly there.  No appointment, no call to anyone.   Both times on S-class ships.

Exactly the way it worked on our May millennium cruise. Go there and stand in line.

  3. After reading this thread I sent off a quick email to my CVP and received a reply in less than an hour...

    Good afternoon Peter,

Thank you for your email.  Earlier this month we did layoff some of my colleagues unfortunately.  I am still here though, and will always be happy to help.  Have a great weekend!

    Kind Regards,

We have a 4 night cruise booked next year and would like to add on to it to make it a 7 night. Can I just book the next cruise to make it a B2B or do I need to call?

B2B cruises are booked individually. They will have different booking numbers. The only reason to call is to get the B2B discount on both cruises. It isn't a whole lot, $50 on the short cruises.

In Canada taxes and port fees have to be included in the base price , service charge should also be included in the base price

I have never seen them included. There has always been a separate line item for port fees for any I have booked.

I just heard that tips are no longer included in "All Included"... so I guess it's not ALL included.

According to their logic, that is to enhance your cruise experience, just like any and all changes they make.

I booked a solo cruise for next summer.

When I booked, it shows an insane rate for AI...basically appears to charge for 2 people.

When I called the CS rep said that is what I would have to pay to add AI.

This seems insane to me that I cannot add AI for just me since I am traveling solo.

Anyone have experience with this? (seeing double AI for solo but being able to add it when calling?)

    Thanks

From past experience as a solo, it was more cost effective to just purchase beverage package and wifi individually when on board. You should be able to add the gratuities beforehand, but if not, again, pay on board.

Considering booking a last minute cruise on Celebrity Eclipse, leaving out of Los Angeles, in an oceanview room, but based on what I am reading, a basic room doesn't allow for many dining options or things to do. Is this true, or am I missing something? Dining seems to only be buffet and main dining room and a fee for room service.  I want to go because it's cheap, but if I have to pay for other dining experiences (my fav part about cruising is eating non stop), I may be better off on a different line. Is this how it is with all Celebrity cruises?

What are people's experience with the most basic room option? Food, activities, anything really.

The dining options for all cabins up to Concierge are all the same. Oceanview and MDR are included. Specialty restaurants are not included for any except a few suites I believe.

I am sailing on Celebrity Summit in Concierge cabin 8069 which is listed as having a partially obstructed view. There are other cabins close by that are also listed as partially obstructed. If anyone has stayed in this cabin,  is it possibly from life boats or window washer equipment?  Just curious as I love the location and not planning to move.

The only thing on that side in that area is the window equipment that may roll by...summit.thumb.jpg.cfb472d7f8d4cf683bda55122329e16a.jpg

Can you not just accept someone enjoyed the food?

Absolutely. Food enjoyment is so subjective, What one finds excellent, someone else will find lacking. Food can still be excellent, but not necessarily as excellent as previously. That is what I was referring to with the comparisons. I also enjoyed my food on my last cruise, but was it as enjoyable as previously? No.

I'm curious as to whether I should purchase the "sale price" also.  I am Diamond Plus on RCCL and get two free days of internet, which I'm assuming Celebrity also recognizes.  I've heard that if you purchase ahead of time that you don't get those free days.  Some have said that you purchase it and then go to Customer Service and HOPE they can help you.  Perhaps if you get a sale then you don't get the free days.   Does anyone know?

Diamond + will equate to Elite, so you will get 90 Minutes of free internet, not 2 days.
