  1. Which brings me to say which is 'nicer', THAT or a pair of nice dark blue jeans and and nice fitted polo style shirt?
  2. Yes that is true, but why can't you do early dining with YTD?
  3. Just to be clear the Quantum class has many of the activity elements of the other Royal ships but the general aesthetics, the interior design and layout, is more similar to a Celebrity ship than legacy Royal ships. Quantum Class has the 270 space aft which is basically the Eden space in Celebrity's E-class ships.
  4. What hadn't been mentioned is Celebrity offers a more relaxed cruise experience. It's a 'make your own kind of fun' cruiseline since the ships themselves, even their newest, don't have the bells and whistles of water parks rock climbing walls, zip lines, surfing simulators that Royal offers. The general ambiance is a more sophisticated shop design with Royal's Quantum class being the closest in feel to Celebrity's ships (which is why many Royal aficionados claim the Quantum class ships don't feel like a Royal Caribbean cruise ship). There won't be crazy poolside events, the most strenuous being volleyball in the pool or golf putting.

  6. The step houses at Ephesus is also a must see.
  7. And the year after that and after that, etc
  8. Cucina and chibang will be free on Excel class ships because they are an extension of the MDRs for dinner service. It would be impossible for these ships to accommodate everyone in the 2 existing MDRs which is why they designed 2 extra complementary restaurants. There are two key indications that this is the case. When Carnival paused dinner service in Cucina due to staff shortages earlier this year they didn't do it on the MardiGras. Additionally the menu in Cucina on the MGis different than the rest of the fleet, which accounts for it being a complementary restaurant vs a pay restaurant. Lastly as you can see you it's never available for advanced reservations like other pay restaurants. The Celebration actually holds more passengers than the MardiGras.
  9. Yes, here's the refrigerators at Michael's Club on the Reflection back in Feb.
  10. They're done on the other cruiselines. It's great to see Carnival jumping on the bandwagon.
  11. There's a supply of headphones for anyone who wants one, you wear your own headphone. After each use they are wiped cleaned.
  12. Headphones are used to play music instead of over loudspeakers. The headphones have colored lights that corresponds to a certain music channel there will be a switch where you can change the channel for different music, classic disco, Latin, hip hop, country, etc. When you see people bopping a little different than you are you can see what color their headphones are and switch yours to match. It's lots of fun!
  13. That's not a good thing. Chicken pox is highly contagious.
  14. Your comparison review is quite on point. I think the biggest negative with VV are the rooms below Rockstar (suites) category. We had the XL Sea Terrace which is the best cabin below suites category and it pales in comparison to any Celebrity non-Retreat cabin. While I appreciate the contemporary aesthetic the cabin resembles a college dorm room furnished from Target. The closet doesn't have solid doors but a sheer curtain which functionally doesn't make it any easier to access the contents nor does it save space or improve the decor. The only redeeming feature of the cabin was the design and layout of the bathroom, which like Celebrity's E-class cabin bathrooms are nice and spacious. We enjoyed our 4 day cruise but we much prefer the total package that Celebrity offers. Despite what the updated marketing suggests the whole VV product is meant for the Millennial generation. That doesn't mean other age groups can't enjoy the VV experience but the genesis of the cruiseline was to target the younger demographic who has never been on a traditional cruise and had preconceived opinions about the traditional cruise vacation experience.

  16. I have recently assisted my parents with booking an Inside cabin on the 10/26 sailing on the Beyond (We're on the cruise in Aquaclass). They were assigned Early dining and waitlisted on Select. A few days later they were granted Select Anytime, so I hurriedly tried to make reservations for them. I guess there was a reason for Select Anytime not being available right away; the earliest advanced reservations in any of the four dining rooms is 9:00pm!!! Before I speak with my parents about possibly changing back to Fixed Early dining, can anyone currently or recently on the Beyond and had Select anytime without reservations comment on the how difficult it is to get a table for two at a reasonable hour? Any insight would be helpful in deciding what's best for my parents (Ages 93 & 84). Thanks in advance!
