First, you´re a bit early with your questions. The MSC World Europa is to be named on Sunday. So by today the first invited passengers are boarding for the naming ceremony.

The Easy+ package basically can be used at any bar. It´s more what you can order must be included in the package.

Early? If the first invited passengers are boarding, I should say perfect on time for a Q&A topic. Thank you for the respons but 'basically in any bar' is a vague answer.

On the Europa are several special bars as i can see. Will they always serve the drinkpackages outside there speciality?

And my second question, will the bumpercars on a additional charge?

  2.  I can imagine there are some questions about the new MSC World Europa. This forum is of course the perfect place for that, and in this topic we can also bundle those questions together.

let me kick off, in the summer of 2023 we are booked on this ship, super exciting of course!

It's just completely unclear to me which bars and lounges I can go to with my easy(+) package, does anyone know the answer to that?

I also would like to know whether there is an extra charge for bumper cars?

    Thank you!

  3. On 9 July 2023 we will start our cruise from Bari on the MSC Lirica. On July 10 we moor in the port of Marghera near Venice.

Does anyone know the possibilities to get from the port of Marghera into the center of Venice if we go by ourselves?

And secondly, are there options that MSC has arranged to central Venice and what is the price of that shuttle and/or tender?

Thanks in advance for the information!

  4. I believe I have read somewhere that children under 12 who are not vaccinated are not allowed to disembark freely with their vaccinated parents. They seem to MUST use the MSC Exursions.

    Is this true?

I find it embarrassing because in general children hardly get sick and are much less destined. In addition, a child must be able to make a competent decision for vaccination, a child under 12 is certainly not yet able to do so.

In this way, unvaccinated children are more or less obliged to be vaccinated if they want to disembark with their parents, that is not possible.

MSC cruises should ditch this rule as soon as possible and stop playing in their own right if this is true.

What do you think of this ethical issue?

  5. Cruise Lines Association ‘In Talks’ To Reopen Malaga And Barcelona Ports

    - EuroWeeklyNews.com

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), is currently negotiating with the Government a possible opening of these ports in a bid to open up the Spanish tourism sector.

The situation in the Spanish tourism sector is becoming more and more critical. The coronavirus pandemic has greatly subdued the activity of tourism companies after the ban imposed by the Government on cruise ships docking in Spanish ports ruined their competitiveness in the international market.

Faced with the situation that Europe is getting ready to go back to normal, Puertos del Estado has intensified its conversations with the Government in order to speed up opening the ports in time for the summer campaign.

  6. Big News for Barcelona and MSC Seashore Cruises:

Among MSC Cruises' newly announced Mediterranean itineraries are the company's first sailings back at the Port of Barcelona.

    Dan Solon | Apr 15, 2021

From August through October, new flagship MSC Seashore will be based there for seven-night cruises to Genoa, Naples, Messina, Malta and Marseille.

    Test operations in June

The announcement follows declarations earlier this week by Mercé Conesa, chairman of the Barcelona Port Authority, and Barcelona's first deputy mayor, Jaume Collboni, confirming plans agreed by the port, the city government and the Catalán regional Generalitat, for test operations by various cruise lines during the second half of June.

The focus of these activities will be on the health and safety of passengers, crew and the local public.

  7. The decision of whether or not to get the drinks package for your cruise is always a tricky one. To further confuse matters, MSC Cruises has introduced five new drinks packages for 2021 and 2022 cruises. Plus, they’ve removed all of the drinks package prices from their website! They will adjust prices according to the season.

There are five different packages to choose from. So let’s take a look at what’s included in each, compare the prices and pick the best one.

MSC Cruises offers five different drinks packages:

    1. Easy Package
    2. Easy Plus Package (was called Premium)
    3. Premium Extra Package (was called Premium Plus)
    4. Alcohol-Free Package (was called Non-Alcoholic)
    5. Minors Package (was called Non-Alcoholic Child)

The new drinks package names apply to cruises departing in November 2021 onwards.

MSC Cruises no longer publish the prices of drinks package on the website. Instead, guests are asked to log in to see the prices for their cruise. This makes things tricky for people who want to know how much the drinks package costs before they book a cruise.

The pricing for MSC beverage packages has always been a little complicated because you will pay in pounds sterling, US dollars or Euros depending on where you live. There are different prices depending on where in the world your ship departs from. In the future, there may also be different prices for summer and winter cruises.

To give you a rough idea of the prices of MSC drinks packages in 2021 and 2022, I have included a table of the old drinks package prices for cruises departing before November 2021. New drinks packages for winter 2021 and 2022 cruises will cost about 10% more than this.

Old MSC drink package prices until November 2021

(Add 10% to these prices for cruises departing November 2021 onwards)

Mediterranean, Europe, Emirates, Antilles, Cuba Caribbean & North America South America
    Easy £27 / $35 / €29 £27 / $35 / €29 £27 / $35 / €29
    Premium £36 / $47 / €39 £45 / $62 / €52 £41 / $56 / €47
    Premium Plus £51 / $62 / €55 £57 / $79 / €66 £48 / $65 / €55
    Non-Alcoholic £17 / $23 / €19 £21 / $28 / €24 £18 / $25 / €21
    Non-Alcoholic (Child) £12 / $17 / €14 £12 / $17 / €14 £12 / $17 / €14
For MSC Grand Voyages, the price is based on the port of embarkation.

NEW MSC drink package prices (November 2021 onwards)

While MSC Cruises hasn’t published any prices for the new drinks packages, cruisers with winter 2021 and 2022 bookings who have logged into their MSC accounts have reported that the prices have increased by around 10%.

How much are MSC drinks packages in 2021 and beyond?

MSC drink packages prices for European cruises in winter 2021 are approximately:

    • Easy Package: $38 / £27 per day
    • Easy Plus Package: $49 / £35 per day
    • Premium Extra Package: $69 / £50 per day
    • Alcohol-Free Package: $25 / £18 per day
    • Minors Package: $19 / £14 per day

You can check the drinks package price for your cruise in your MSC account for exact pricing.

Drink package prices for Caribbean cruises may cost more, please refer to the table above as a guide.

What’s included in MSC drinks packages?

    1. MSC Easy Drink Package

Previously all drinks  up to 6 euros were included in the easy package. The big question is whether this is still the case because it is not explicitly mentioned. Who knows the answer to this?

    MSC Easy Drink Package Menu:

    • Draught beer (Heineken)
    • Selection of house wines by the glass
    • Selection of classic cocktails
    • Mixed drinks and non-alcoholic cocktails
    • Soft drinks and fruit juices by the glass
    • Bottled mineral water
    • Classic hot drinks (espresso, cappuccino, caffe latte, hot tea)

Drinks can be consumed in all bars, buffet, main dining room but NOT in speciality restaurants or the Starship Club.

This package offers great value for money and is ideal if you’re on a budget and happy to stick with drinking draft Heineken, the same wines or choosing from a small list of cocktails.

    2. MSC Easy Plus Drink Package

This package includes all drinks priced up to $9 or €8.

MSC Easy Plus Drink Package Menu:

    • Variety of draught and bottled beers
    • Selection of wines by the glass
    • Variety of frozen and classic cocktails
    • Non-alcoholic cocktails
    • Well spirits
    • Liqueurs and cordials
    • Soft drinks
    • Mineral water
    • Coffee drinks (latte, espresso, cappuccino, etc.)
    • Hot chocolate and hot teas
    • 10% discount on bottles of wine purchased on board

With the Premium package, drinks can be consumed in all bars (except the Starship Club on MSC Virtuosa), buffet and the main dining room as well as speciality restaurants. This is an important difference from the Easy package, which doesn’t allow you to order drinks in speciality restaurants.

If you plan to dine in a few speciality restaurants during our cruise, this deal is probably a better choice than the Easy drinks package.

    3. MSC Premium Extra Drink Package

This package includes all drinks priced up to $15 or €13.

MSC Premium Extra Drink Package Menu:

    • Selection of draught, craft and bottled beers
    • Entire selection of wines and champagne by the glass
    • Extensive variety of frozen and classic cocktails
    • Premium brand spirits
    • Liqueurs and cordials
    • Sodas
    • Fruit juices
    • Energy drinks
    • Mineral water
    • Coffee (latte, espresso, cappuccino, etc.)
    • Hot chocolate and teas
    • 25% discount on wine and champagne bottles purchased on board

Drinks can be consumed in all bars (except the Starship Club on MSC Virtuosa), buffet, main dining room and speciality restaurants. It doesn’t however, include drinks in the onboard Lavazza coffee shops and other signature venues.

The old Premium Plus drink package also included drinks from your minibar. However, there’s no mention of the minibar being included in the new Premium Extra package, so be careful!

    4. MSC Alcohol-Free Drink Package

    MSC Alcohol-Free Drink Package Menu:

    • Wide choice of alcohol-free cocktails
    • Sodas
    • Energy drinks
    • Mineral water
    • Flavoured water
    • Fruit juices
    • Coffee drinks (latte, espresso, cappuccino, etc.)
    • Soft drinks
    • Hot chocolate
    • Hot teas
    • Soft-serve ice cream

Drinks can be consumed in all bars (except the Starship Club on MSC Virtuosa), buffet, main dining room but NOT speciality restaurants.

    5. MSC Minors Drink Package

This package is for children aged 3 to 17 on European cruises and aged 3 to 20 on North American and Caribbean cruises.

    MSC Minors Drink Package Menu:

    • Wide choice of alcohol-free cocktails
    • Sodas
    • Energy drinks
    • Mineral water
    • Flavoured water
    • Fruit juices
    • Coffee drinks (latte, espresso, cappuccino, etc.)
    • Soft drinks
    • Hot chocolate
    • Hot teas
    • Soft-serve ice cream

Drinks can be consumed in all bars (except the Starship Club on MSC Virtuosa), buffet, main dining room but NOT speciality restaurants.

MSC Virtuosa was previously scheduled to serve itineraries in Northern Europe out of Germany, she will be replaced by MSC Seaview. Booked guests and travel agents will be contacted directly.

Seaview itineraries starts from Kiel in June 2021.

Not a bad switch in my opinion! If we take a look to the last switch from Seashore to Fantasia, that was awful! The seaview is a great vessel and maybe guests get some OBC.

    I will take it...😁

  10. The msc virtuosa will soon be leaving her homeport to sail on to antwerp. What she is going to do there is completely unclear to me...

Couldn't she have sailed directly to her new homeport in keel? That is where the virtuosa is planned for this summer season.

Or would this ship be used for the english market? Because the uk is nearby.

Or will the ship wait patiently in antwerp to see what norway will decide in a month's time regarding cruises in that country? Because norways restrictions on cruising ends in may.

To be honest, I don't really see what the virtuosa is doing now, she will clearly sail northward, but what will she do next?...

    ... Who knows more? 😁

From Monday, Mainland Italy will all be placed in the highest level Red Zone.

On Tuesday all Schools on Corfu will be closed for a minimum of two weeks, friends there have heard it is due to increasing case numbers an announcement will be made on Greek TV this evening.

And MSC is still sailing... for now the cruises in Europe has nothing to do with infections on the mainland, as long the safe bubble restrictions will be followed strictly. And they succed by that. It looks like cruising in Europe is on the most safe holidays if you want a zero low chance of infections. It will take some time but it looks good for cruising in Europe, in a new way but good.

How can the older ships use wristbands ? do they currently have the technology onboard to do so ?

    Thats right! @CruisingFox27

"The whristbands will be rolled out along the line’s nine remaining ships in its 11-ship building program over the next 10 years. MSC will also retrofit its 12 existing ships with the technology soon."

I good chance that, due the pandemic, it had a steady roll out on the existing ships.

  13. We all know that Europe is lagging behind in terms of vaccination. but that has nothing to do with cruising. After all, it is not for nothing that ships from different shipping companies already sail in Europe and America is not while this is simply possible. Because in Europe they look forward to see what can be done in the last steps of this pandemic. I foresee that more and more ships will make a start in Europe towards the summer, but that will initially only be for European guests as it is now. We are now seeing it happening this way in the UK to.

This summer I don't see guests from other parts of the world boarding in Europe, I would gamble on vacation in your own continent. Europe is really making big strides to make cruises possible this summer, as is the UK and some Asian countries, which are now looking at what can be done while we still get vaccinated while the risks will be a little less each day. In America, this seems to be slowly diminishing with the cruise industry still on a strict line from CDC. Goodluck there!

If the CDC holds that strict policy there will be no cruising from America happening yet soon, let alone that the population can and may come to Europe to get a boat here. Unfortunately, but I can understand that ships like the Seaside set sail through Europe. The CDC just doesn't provide perspective and the rules they set are way too strict. Let's hope the Americans can soon come to Europe for a cruise to show the CDC how it fares in other parts of the world. But for this summer is see a big NO on cruise holidays for the Americans.

  14. The MSC for Me app is only available for guests traveling on MSC Meraviglia, MSC Seaside, MSC Seaview, MSC Bellissima, MSC Grandiosa and the MSC Magnifica.

Coming soon for MSC Virtuosa and MSC Seashore by this year and no further plans to expand the app to the other vessels as we speak. If needed, contact tracing will be done by the 'MSC whristbands'

  15. It looks clear that the Virtuosa will start now at Kiel at first this summer. Lets see Germany, Norway, Denmark and Russia allow cruiseships by that time. If we look to the newspage from Port of Kiel, they are pretty sure that they will operate and handling cruiseships by late spring this year. And honestley i think that by summer we are in a whole other and much better state in the pandemic for cruisepassengers by that time. What do you all think?

  16. It seems that Europe will relax a little faster on cruise measures than in the US, where the policy seems to be a lot stricter.

At the end of February/the beginning of March, more information will emerge from the Union about how to act in the exit strategy we find ourselves in and how cruise lines should act on this.

It seems MSC cruises are taking the lead in this and the Grandiosa sailings seem to be the big test, The Union looking over their shoulders.

For the time being, I am looking forward positively to this summer, when many shipping companies will be operational again on a small scale and in phases with all the measures that go with it.

In het US it seems that some shipping companies are adapting as the CDC prescribes, but it appears to be a long and above all slow process.

Let's hope some shipping companies can meet the CDC's requirements to resume their trips as soon as possible.

For now I foresee a better outlook in the EU cruising area than in the US.

Although things will not differ far from each other, it seems that the requirements are different on both sides of the world.

That does not matter, but it does make the European policy easier to handle seems to be to start cruising faster and easier than the policy in the United States

MSC announced today that they pushed Magnifica restart out to May 3, 2021.  All cruises from February 14 to then are being cancelled.

MSC CRUISES AIMS TO RESTART CRUISES TO GREECE BY EASTER     Tweet 04/02/2021

Company is working closely with Greek Ministry of Tourism and other relevant local authorities to ensure reopening of local tourist services in time for the Easter holiday season

Geneva, Switzerland, 4 February 2021 – MSC Cruises announced today that it is working closely with the Greek Ministry of Tourism and other relevant authorities for the reopening of local tourist services in time to serve cruise passengers visiting Greece starting with the upcoming Easter holiday period.

In related news, the Company also announced that it is cancelling all of MSC Magnifica’s scheduled cruises through to 29 April. The ship was originally scheduled to return to sea starting on 14 February with a Greece-bound itinerary. MSC Magnifica will thus be replaced for voyages to the Eastern Mediterranean, including Greece, during the Easter period and throughout the summer season.

Guests booked on MSC Magnifica through to 29 April will be offered the option to rebook their MSC Cruises holiday at sea on one of the line’s other ships due to call Greece or on its flagship MSC Grandiosa, which is currently at sea in the Western Mediterranean. Alternatively, guests will receive compensation for their cancelled cruise that will vary depending on the market.

    http://www.mscpressarea.com/en_INT/press-releases/3799

This is just a copy/paste, it looks like they may have booked progress with the greek ministry maybe. We have to stay tuned if this dates will make it to retstart. At least it is a start...

Who knows how far they are to make agreements with the governments of countries where they want to sail. In the meantime, news follows up that MSC is also negotiating with Mexico by invitation. We will see what rolls out. For sure they don't run 100% capacity and the 'save bubble' will stay present if they restart this summer. If needed, they will build off this bubble, like they mentioned on there website.

  19. Ignoring is not the setup of a board, it is precisely here that it is put on a scale whether the information is correct and and it will be discussed, that is the essence of a board. @sverigecruiser

It also depends on how you bring the information instead of screaming that you are right anyway. I apperciate the information @sidari brings, but keeping an eye out for information that is not official but third-hand is nothing wrong with... especially on a board.

For now a new picture is reveald with Seashore on it!

Last week the funnel was installed, this week glass for

the balconys will be placed, its good to see they make fast progress with the lot work they have to do when sea trials come closer.

  20. This is a never ending story untill delivery of the Seashore. Of course there is a lot of work to do. On the other hand, several MSC spokesmen has said now that the Seashore will be ready by august 1st 2021. I like to hold on the official channels. There is nothing said in the conversation that @sidari shows us, but rumors. Maybe the rumors can be, but for now we know for sure that they are planning first sea trials in March if you listend to the recent podcast. When the sea trials has no problems, the last phase can be quick.

    If MSC wants to delay again, they will annouce that soon or they had already done that. The number of signals by several annoucements, even at the delivery of Virtuosa, Mr. Vago himself concluded that the Seashore will be on time makes and that there is no reason to hasitate;

"2021 will see a second launch of the two new MSC Cruises next-generation ships this year – the second one being MSC Seashore - bringing the fleet total to 19, with a further four to be launched by 2025. MSC Virtuosa and MSC Seashore, which will come into service in August 1st 2021, will offer the very latest in environmental technology, cutting-edge guest technology and a whole range of new experiences and features."

  21. What are you?! We refused it because its no official statement. It can be, but it is not confirmed in anyway. I thought you do not matter any sourch anyway, just for you this time;

The photos where placed on 24th of december 2020 as the picture shows you below. Imagine Seashores progress inside at this moment.

Now for once stop your outstanding behavior you turn out to all the replys. Please come with info that we can check or that are comfirmed and do not bring rumors as facts!

      @sidari your turn... 😉
