I suspect the port agents had seen the recent trafficking movie and/or had had training recently, and as a result became hyper-vigilant, so they decided to seek out suspected traffickers. Trying to identify victims probably left them looking for anything that seemed "different", and boom, when they saw a multiracial family their suspicions went into overdrive. Being ignorant of actual trafficking, they compounded their mistake by letting their suspicions feel vindicated when no documentation they thought should be there (adoption papers) was produced. This wasn't poor training alone. The port agents were stubbornly stupid. They could probably be trained for hours on end and still insist that they acted propery, all becase many people think that if they are certain of a suspicion it must be a fact. Racial profiling could have been the origin, but I doubt it reflects a Celebrity policy. Celebrity should still use its influence with the port to insist that its passengers not be harrassed.

OP: If you can get a lawyer to represent you, run out of there fast. Sanctions for frivolous litigation can be imposed against the party AND their counsel.

Can I check-in on the Celebrity app?
mayleeman replied to Ensign Pulver's topic in Celebrity Cruises
@Ensign Pulver I couldn't get checked in on the app, so I just went to a Celeb main page on my phone web browser, clicked "manage your cruise" and it gave me a check in link that did work. (Can't help with the locked rez, I'm afraid. Maybe search here for email to the President?) Mister Roberts is my favorite movie, BTW! 👍 -
How have the port entries changed? How long are those walks? We haven't been there so we have no context for your comment....will we need taxis if we are used to walking 3 to 4 miles daily? Thx!

Black Friday - Classic Package cancelled

I am at a loss to figure out what you are saying. Did you leave out something, like what happened? And what reason was given? -
Well, in a related genre....we had great, superlative even, service at all 3 restaurants we went to in Myrtle Beach this past Sat-Mon. 🙃 I did not get a great deal on car insurance like in the commercials, but I didn't try.

And yet it can be enhanced quite delightfully with Chicago Steak Seasoning that is also in the sauteed onions and mushrooms on top!

Comes in handy for swatting people wearing flip flops.

That has been there since before our 2019 cruise at least, I believe. People take water and sodas on all the time.

Shuttle from Port to FLL Airport-WAITLISTED?
mayleeman replied to CruiserKris34's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Seems like a reasonable conclusion, but it might be better to ask them. -
You just don't get double points for bonuses like Go Green.

We once walked to the rum distillery and there was an interesting art museum nearby. 10 years ago, tho.

Good luck! Isn't planning cruising relaxing?🤨

BEWARE! Read this before you book with Celebrity

@billc23 @the penguins Compensation for early termination due to mechanical failure is specifically required under 7(e) of the Celebrity Cruise Contract. (I only checked the US version. There may be other clauses for booking from elsewhere.) -

Did anyone try to get compensation from trip insurance, or was this situation barred by the "war, declared or undeclared" exclusions? -
I wonder if Celebrity feels justified when increasing prices, or changing promises (what OP calls lying), because they know their customers try "workarounds" (3 syllable meaning lying). My friend, who in all other ways asserted lofty standards of morality, used to sneak into movies with his wife because they were poor grad students. I called it stealing, but he said the prices were so high that it was justified. Rationalizing is the best way to quiet a conscience.

If asked about why it was not revealed earlier, and if the poster didn’t want to discuss it, he could have just said DIL didn't know about final payment. (A lesson were it actually true: make sure people cruising with you know the rules and date of final payment.) If anyone doesn't want to reveal any info, just say a medical issue came up 2 days after final payment. No need to reveal anything. -
I have lost some 25 pounds and now can wear my tux for the first time in years. Wife has long dresses she gets no other chance to wear. Will we feel awkward on our ABC cruise in Feb?

Ascent Inaugural Nov 30 - Calling all Swifties!
mayleeman replied to Cmildenb's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Why do people announce they don't care? Who cares that you don't care? Kelces' mom has been a fun sports/entertainment story since the Super Bowl buildup. With the Travis/Taylor romance literally millions of people have been paying attention. -

If any customers who DID cruise the next week got compensation for the itinerary change, OP has an argument. But they are comparing to people who cancelled and did NOT cruise, and got refunds. Entirely different. -
@Cokernut7 Ah, I didn't realize you were told directly by Parrk 'n Go itself.

Dunno, right now prepaying shows up at $105 for our Feb 3-11 cruise in Ft L, but it says paying on arrival would be $130. $10.50 per day would be $84. Cannot imagine a AAA discount of that amount. Who told you? Most importantly, you won't have a reservation. Where will you park if they say they are full? The difference (unless you are on a B2B or more) is minimal in the larger picture of your cruise total.
