  1. Are these actually Future Cruise Reservations, not Future Cruise Credits? That may be why those of us who have only had FCCs have no idea what the OP is talking about. Can't an FCR be cancelled for a refund?
  2. The only thing that would have it make some sort of sense would be for non-suites to get access to the full MDR menu in room service.
  3. You were a character in Stripes, right? If your one minute +/- spent looking at that was so valuable, why waste even longer griping about it? Internet: Read and ignore if you don't like something.
  4. So, Abercrombie and Fitch shorts and sleeveless shirt rather than my Kohls separates suit?
  5. Hey, everone! You may want to check the reactions to posts like the Century menu before "correcting" the poster! If you see a bunch of laughing emojis, it just might be a post for amusement...
  6. I am just surprised that, if I read your first post correctly, you generalized from a single weak drink and feeling rudely treated at one bar rude, that "the liquor drinks on this ship are not worth buying or getting for free." That is a pretty small sample.
  7. The way I do it is to read the best and the worst, generally disregarding those (good and bad) that have no details or are based (if bad) on obviously unique minor factors such as a spilled drink on a lobby floor. If someone posts a detailed review about their efforts to get something taken care of, either complaining or praising that response, reading how the company handled it is very instructive. Same with product reviews. For all reviews, if a company has the chance to comment on a very detailed description of a problem and how their efforts to get help were ignored, but just gives a canned response saying please call us, they get tossed from consideration.
  8. Pens are now part of Celebrity's innovative "All Non-Inclusive Package."
  9. On our cruise the lounge was closed all afternoon and evening. There was some organization on board using it except in the morning, when the bar itself was closed. (We didn't even know until I was doing a lot of reading here months later that the lounge was normally open; just assumed it was always booked for private stuff.) I wasn't blaming that trip's lack of access on the happy hour, just afraid that the new one might stop us from finally being able to use it. As I said, I get it now.
  10. I seem to remember this being cited as a reason not to remove the daily gratuity even if you don't go to the MDR for dinner.
  11. I guess that was what I was fearing it would return to. We never had a chance to be in the Sky Lounge on the Refl in 2019 except for morning trivia contests. If it is limited to the 2 hrs in the letter, that should be okay. Would like to enjoy it after dinner!
  12. You have now many many more comments about the whole tomato complaint than the complainer did. Would you mind putting it to rest? We get it.
  13. Not so great for non-Elites to lose access to some lounge.
  14. I had a friend who literally stayed awake some nights worryiing about the fate of the Earth when the sun expands in a few billion years. "So far, so good" I would say while looking upward.
  15. Our Feb 3 Refl menus for MDR are in the app, but instead of having prime rib on Night 1 and lobster on night 7 (as it was last week or so) now it has prime rib on Night 7 and no lobster night. Still listed on premium offers for extra, though.
  16. The long link just reflects the linkages used to get to the one that showed up (like clicking on an email link, or a link from another site). You can get rid of those for copying and posting elsewhere by going back one step, and opening the link you want in a new tab. Here is a shortened link: https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/people-opinions/lisa-lutoff-perlos-book-making-waves-available-pre-order
  17. I think people who worry about overtipping are needlessly concerned. If someone makes you happy, and if you like to make them happy in return, tip 'em and enjoy knowing you have helped them out. Some posters in these types of threads seem intent to make sure nobody gets too much income compared to "back home" and reduce it because the crewmember's COL is low. (Not talking about OP, who is expressly not asking about amounts.) Kind of a reverse noblesse oblige: don't let "the help" go beyond their station.
  18. @Rick&Jeannie I had no idea that the confirms omitted any indication that a deposit WAS refundable. They have certainly swamped me with all the warnings that mine are NOT! Good job of getting the info and assurance you need. We waited 5.5 months for a refund on a cancellation 18 months ago. I think you will get yours sooner. Good luck!
  19. @tschwa2 OP has never answered what type of deposit. That would certainly clear some things up!
  20. The clause you quoted gives a refund option if Celebrity cancels, not you.
  21. My Feb 3 cruise on Refl has menus that include return of both lobster and prime rib nights. They have, however, regularly reappeared and disappeared over the past year. "Believe it when you can eat it" has to be the MDR motto, I think.
  22. Maybe Michelin doesn't mean what we think it does. People have complained about steaks being tough or rubbery....
  23. Stop making me scroll down the page reading things! 🙄
