  1. That's quite the generalization, especially considering I've been on 3 cruises with a Studio Lounge (including one this year) and the solo meet was held in that lounge every night...
  2. Yeah - adding the 'solo' category on the ships without a Studio Lounge doesn't make a ton of sense as adding access to that lounge is really the only benefit to that category compared to the non-solo cabins of the same type. On some trips/ships that DO have the lounge the 'solo' category rooms are way more expensive than a Studio or a non-solo room of the same type.
  3. @Smitheroo did you know that you can quote multiple people in a single post? The little + sign adds that post to your quote list, then you can click to add them all in one reply. CC's own topic on this -
  4. Interesting - others had already-booked cruises that they were able to apply a 3rd to...
  5. No, see the table on the CN site - https://www.ncl.com/cruisenext
  6. I definitely felt Asian 'inspiration' in at least one of the specialty dining venues (I ate at Cagney's and Le Bistro on that ship in 2022), and in some other places around the ship. Yes, the ship was designed for and originally deployed to Asia but NCL either couldn't fill the ship or found the clientele were 'disrespectful' in some manner to the ship. Bottom line - it just didn't work. There was a whole thread dedicated to the 'Westernization' of the ship (you should be able to find it easily using the search for that word), which was completed in May of 2019, that thread might have more of the history as to why it was re-done and moved. The Joy was in fine shape last year.
  7. Covered by the T&C's.. https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions#cruisenext #5 CruiseNext Deposits ($250 each) and CruiseNext Haven Deposits ($500 each) are valid for sailings of 3 days or longer. CruiseNext Haven Deposits act as the full deposit for all staterooms onboard qualified sailings. CruiseNext deposits act as a full deposit for rooms up to a Club Balcony or can be applied as partial deposit payment towards higher categories. Haven is not available on Sixthman events.
  8. Covered in the FAQ on NCL's website - https://www.ncl.com/faq#!#when-can-i-pre-book-dining You're after FP, which means the pre-book slots you wanted to book are gone so you'll need to wait until you board to make reservations.
  9. Checking today - my inside guarantee cabin for my next cruise has gone UP $1300 (single occupancy price). Good thing I'm locked in at the lower price...
  10. I believe so, with Manzanillo added after I booked.
  11. Check again. My cruise gets Mazatlan, yours isn't. 10 listed ports of call compared to 9 on yours, AND it was less expensive...
  12. For my upcoming cruise it seems that upgrading before the cruise would be a better deal. The list price for unlimited internet is $29.99/day, to pre-order the upgrade would be $229.85 when discounted for the 'trade' of the free-at-sea minutes, which works out to about $15/day since it's a 15 day cruise. I'm debating getting that though, the cruise has only 5 sea days, and 5 of the last 6 days I'll be able to access internet in the ports. One trick you can do - wait until the second day (may also work on the 3rd day, after which you don't get credit for the unactivated free-at-sea time) to use ANY internet at all, you pay for one less day when you upgrade to unlimited.
  13. It doesn't now, but back when Vibe passes were only available on board on embarkation day it made a little more sense. I wonder if some of that mentality remains. It still may make some sense if people are trying to get prime dinner reservations or book theater shows.
  14. You'll need lanyards with a pouch - NCL won't punch a hole in the cards for you. The cards have RFID chips and antenna inside them, a hole punched in the wrong spot will render it useless. CAN one be punched? Sure, if you're careful. Just get a lanyard with a pouch if that's your preferred solution for carrying a room key... Absolutely. Refill in the buffet (using a glass to transfer water from the dispenser to the bottle) or in your cabin.
  15. I guess my PC cruise was skipped in those "across the board" drops, I see no change in the price.
  16. They do, but the funny thing is that that ship doesn't even have one!! There are no Studio cabins so no lounge to go with them. I've seen the same on my upcoming Panama Canal trip - they want $4700 for a solo balcony, but only $2600 for a regular balcony as a solo. NCL needs to come down to earth with the 'solo' room pricing if they expect to sell any. I booked that PC cruise in a regular inside as it cost $400 or so less than a Studio cabin...
  17. Then don't try Royal Caribbean's site. It doesn't work properly in all browsers...
  18. Come to think of it - on my cruise out of Miami last year this was the case as well. One of the comedians saw it (then or on a previous trip he was contracted for) and commented on it in his act...
  19. I have to wonder if there was a large, organized, group on that particular cruise that decided to heckle other cruise lines if across the pier from them...
  20. I didn't hear any of this on my 2 post-COVID cruises but I think I've only had one port stop where there was a ship opposite the pier from mine and that was a Mein Schiff ship.
  21. There's this fantastic site where you can enter a search term and learn information about it. You should try it sometime, it's called Google. 🤣. Yes, I'm being sarcastic, but so many people make comments like this when they very well CAN just search the term...
  22. Duplicate, stupid thing that doesn't clear the editor if I'm not replying on the last page...
  23. POA DOES have a "Studio Lounge". Look at deck 13, there are 4 Studio cabins with a blank space labeled Studio Lounge among them. It won't have the same amenities as on the Epic or the BA/BA+ ships with large Studio lounges...
