"Driving in" implies you'll have your own car. If that is the case, I'd choose Rusty's Seafood first, then Grills Seafood. Both have good food, fun atmosphere and nice views. If you wanted to walk, I'd go to Kelsey's or Thai Thai III.
Yes, we will be driving our own car. Don't mind driving maybe up to 20 minutes from the hotel, but I'm sure we won't want to be in the car much after a 9 hr drive so that's why I was looking for something close.
I've also heard good things about Papa Vito's. Anyone have any input on that?

We are driving in the day before our cruise out of Port Canaveral. We are staying at Country Inn & Suites near the port and looking for recommendations of a good place to eat dinner that night that's not too far away. Thank you.

In that case i would recommend Nachi and hope you don’t get one of “those” days. If it happens to appear busier and you want the quieter end of quiet, head to the right, away from the main palapa. Downside of that is you are further from pool and restaurant/ bar /facilities but you can always move if you want pool time or different shade area.
Paradise has good clean facilities and much larger pool but it has water activities and inflatables aimed at families/teens/ active adults. It is a good place with activities but I wouldn’t go without children because loungers are close together in rows on the beach.
Nachi does have a few extra pay-for activities, including massages and the option of snorkeling via a boat tour. Snorkeling from shore not very good because of sandy bottom.
HTH.
Thank you 😊

However, I do wonder how Nachi Cocom and Paradise Beach made the same shortlist? They are two entirely different experiences aimed at different demographics. Both are good facilities with pros and cons but the the OP would need to determine what exactly they are looking for in a beach day.
It will be our first time in Cozumel and our first time venturing away from the port, so I have been watching tons of YouTube looking for a good beach excursion. I saw these mentioned several times, along with Mr. Sanchos (not considering this one). We are looking for a more relaxed atmosphere with good food and clean bathrooms. We do not drink alcohol, but do enjoy virgin drinks and non-alcoholic beer. We also will not be bringing any of our children along on this cruise. Both places looked really nice and not too crowded or rowdy on most of the videos we watched. I know it all depends on the visitors there that day though.

Please make a mid tier drink package that includes bottomless bubbles plus shakes and coffees.

Private hotels offer more. Don't be skittish to explore.😉
Any recommendations? This will be our first visit to Cozumel.

Experiences or recommendations? We prefer a more relaxed atmosphere.

I'd choose Western although I can find worthwhile things to do at most ports.
You'll have a difficult time finding any beach better than HMC. Gorgeous clear water and
soft, sandy beach are tough to top. (been to most of the western and eastern ports and have none yet to equal HMC's combo of soft sand and clear water. Some have one or the other but not both. Closest might be Grand Cayman. Bimini in the Bahamas was close too, but the sand at HMC was slightly better)
I love Cozumel for the ton of options there and the wide diversity of beach days available to you there. From quiet AI beach day with limit on people per day (our choice, Nachi Cocum) to a similar beach with a more raucous atmosphere- Mr. Sanchos, a kids beach - Playa Mia, to a similar beach with a little bit of all of the above- Paradise Beach, to beaches on the wilder Atlantic side, smaller, closer hotel beaches, the rocky Money Bar, etc. etc. etc. (check the Cozumel board here for a ton of great firsthand accounts)
I also had a great time in Roatan (getting away from Mahogany Bay. Not a fan of the cruiselines created fake beach tourist trap areas)
Hired a driver beforew the cruise who took us to a few spots we wanted to see, then to a West Bay beach area that had fantastic snorkeling from the shore and gorgeous beaches. (again check the Roatan board in here for a lot of great firsthand info)
Depending if your cruise is during seaweed season or not in Costa May will probably dictate how your day will go there.
There is a nice pool in the fake touristy cruiseline area there. (but no beach area)
Most people take a short cabride into town (Mahahual) and spend a day at one of the beach bars there.
(again check the Costa Maya board in here for firsthand info)
To get more targeted information, it might help people guide your search by laying out what kind of things you'd like to do for excursions at the ports
Do you enjoy lazy beach days, All Inclusive drinking days, snorkeling or more active things, exploring Mayan Ruins, etc.
Thank you so much for all the info. I didn't even realize there are port specific boards. I will definitely check them out. If Mardi Gras sailed to HMC, that's where I would choose everytime hands down. I know we could choose another ship, but really want to try MG.
We like lazy beach days best. We do not drink. We will be sailing during the month of November. Would love to snorkel or possibly have a dolphin encounter. I'm sure there are amazing excursions out there, I just don't know what they are. I don't want anything with a long bumpy ride or alot of hiking uphill.

Are any of these beaches as nice as HMC? Soft sands and clear waters? Thank you to everyone who has replied so far.
-
Nassau, Amber Cove, Grand Turk or
Cozumel, Costa Maya, Mahogany Bay
Trying to decide which to choose for our 30th anniversary, our second cruise. We've only been to Nassau and HMC. Best beaches, excursions, etc. HMC set the bar high for us. Thank you!

Hi,
I'm having issues signing up for this. No matter what user name I pick it always says that the user ID already exists.
Any suggestions?
I had the same problem for months. Every user ID was taken no matter what I tried, until I remembered we used to have Allstate insurance years ago. I tried that old user ID and password and it worked. Hope you get it figured out!

I had to come find this review since I saw it mentioned in your other one 😊. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I really enjoyed reading it and I'm glad you all had a wonderful time. I look forward to reading the rest of your Sunshine review.

Thank you so much for sharing! Oh how I have missed seeing cruise reviews.
I would love to go on a journey cruise one day. We have only been on one cruise so far and it was on the Sunshine last November. We will hopefully be on the Breeze in April.

I spoke to a Carnival agent today to have my credit from my Mardi Gras cruise transferred to my Miracle cruise in April (hopefully it won't be cancelled). I told her I was shocked that I could get through. She said they were only dealing with cancellations for the Mardi Gras and one other ship and that calls will be backed up Friday. I am guessing more cruises will be cancelled Thursday or Friday.
I'm guessing they will be backed up with calls on Friday for cancellations or cabin change requests (if possible) once the new cabin assignments for Radiance/Breeze/Magic are sent out.

Bummed, still unable to find it. Called and the Carnival customer service rep said "2021 sailings won't have FTTF until later"....hmmm. Wondering if it's sold out, but find that a bit hard to believe. I haven't found anyone on this forum going on the same sailing to ask if they've booked FTTF on the sailing or not.
Do you have Facebook? If you do have you joined a group for your sailing? That's how I found out it was available. I posted last week to our group and asked if anyone noticed it to please share. A member of our group said she had purchased it, but it took a few days before I could find it. I've also seen people not sailing until November 2021 say theirs is available. I hope you are able to get it. I know we loved it on our previous cruise.

Dang! Still don't see FTTF for our Jan 2021 cruise on the Radiance...
I couldn't find it all week even after someone in my group had already purchased it, but noticed it under the recommended for you section yesterday. Have you checked there? It didn't show up on my phone. I had to log in on my computer.

FTTF for Radiance April 2021 is available. I just hope the ship gets to be completed and sailing has resumed by then without this darn virus!

Restaurants Near Port Canaveral
in Florida Departures
Posted
We are arriving the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so a holiday weekend.
Also, two of the four of us don't care for seafood, so unless they have other options that may not be a good choice for us, unfortunately.
Thank you for your help! 😊
