  1. For those that care, we just walked from Amsterdam Central today to the cruise terminal to board the Celebrity Apex. It was a 16 minute walk with luggage from getting off the train (middle of station), exiting toward the water (look for the ferry signs), walk along the water then go up and over a ramp (don’t go below or you climb stairs). Doing it this way avoids all stairs. It was 16 minutes from the train to the cruise terminal. Azamara Pursuit parked next to the cruise terminal last week when we were on it, that adds a 2-3 minute extra walk. From the ship to Amsterdam central you don’t need to go back to the train station. You exit the terminal area, go right as if headed to the train station but before it cross over the street and go under the road. From ship to canal streets you are there in about 15 minutes.
  2. We boarded the Pursuit on 5/31, and did a B2B getting off 6/17. I have to disagree about your comment of no vegetable sides. We dined in the Discoveries most all nights. We asked for vegetable sides and had no problem getting them. Quite often we had sides of green beans and carrots, which we requested. I am sure we could have gotten other vegetables too if we asked. The vegetable sides weren’t on the menu but anyone can ask for sides of vegetables, also mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, French fries, etc. I found them most accommodating also with modifying dishes if it included something I didn’t like. I agree with you about the lack of social distancing, non-mask wearing, and lack of information from Azamara regarding how many Covid cases were on board. We wore masks all the time except when eating or outside social distancing. We left Ernest’s show because it was packed (only one show time), about 95% unmasked people, and people were coughing. People sat in lounges coughing like crazy with no mask. Staff didn’t ask them to put one on or leave. The coughing the last 7 days on the ship was awful. Deck 8 where we were had Covid cases as we had seen the staff put all the PPE on to go in a room, also trays with food outside doors a lot. I wish as you do that Azamara would have been forthcoming and honest with us.
  3. Well I just Google mapped it, Central Station to the Movenpick hotel which we were docked next to and it’s 18 minutes. We are boarding the Celebrity Apex today, in Amsterdam and taking a train to central station to board the ship, so I will time it, walking with the luggage and report back.
  4. Yes I was on this cruise, we docked right next to central station, right in town, it was great. Copenhagen we docked about a 10 minute walk from the little mermaid. We walked there and also into town.
  5. 8041 Pursuit - Inside cabin, same size as other inside cabins. Sofa is square instead of more curved so it sticks out quite far so we had very little room in the cabin we felt. Beds could be unlocked from ceiling. Pro - great location to everything. Bad - The cabin is directly across from a utility room used by housekeeping staff. It’s where they fold towels, get cleaning products etc. It was grand central station for the staff, unfortunately noisy for us and napping was very hard.
  6. I am on the Pursuit now and a root touch up is $99. Loyalty discount does not apply. You can only use your discount towards “signature spa items”. I also asked about the 20% off deal I had seen in the daily program onboard. Unfortunately that only applies to “signature” items also.
  7. Yes, 5/31 Barcelona, The Pursuit. EMed results only digital on my phone. We screen shotted the lab results that were sent to us by email. You could also show results from the app too if you wanted.
  8. We boarded yesterday with the emed results on our cell phone and had no issue at all. We took the test with our cell phones, it was easy. We just screen shotted the lab results that came into our email as a PDF attachment and showed the photo to the person checking us in. No issues at all.
  9. We read on this board that they worked fine. We are boarding the Pursuit this afternoon with them. I will post after we board and let you know if we had any issue.

    Quite upset

Thank you uktog, we won’t worry about checking in then for the second cruise.
  11. Those prices are very reasonable and less then I pay at home. Thank you everyone. I have the color formula from my stylist and will get it done on board at the salon. Thank you again!!

    Quite upset

I tried checking us in for our June 7th cruise, (after logging in), and Azamara has my loyalty number down under my husband's profile on the boarding pass. The fields are grayed out and we cannot edit them. We are on the cruise prior, so I am not going to check in and wait to talk to someone once we board on 5/31.
  13. Thank you everyone. I am seeing my hair stylist tomorrow, so I'll ask her for the formula, and also which color of Clairol Root Touch Up would be the closest match. Thank you everyone!
  14. Just curious what root touch up kit you bring? How would I match it if I usually go to the salon? Only reason I ask all this is because we will be traveling for about 2 months. Thanks
  15. Thank you all! Unfortunately I will be away for almost 2 months, so will need a touch up once. I am going to bring the color formula with me from my hair stylist. Hopefully the salon on the ship can match? Fingers Crossed!
  16. Hi, Does anyone know the cost of a root touch up at the salon (spa)? The price sheets I have seen do not include root touch up. Thank you in advance!

  18. I had to get off in Alaska due to an emergency, Sept 2019. My husband and I both got off in Sitka. The cruise-line was Celebrity. Our cruise was from Vancouver to Tokyo. We notified the front desk (passenger services) on the ship that we had to get off because of a medical emergency with my father. They told us they would contact the local authorities and let us know. We were at sea, and not to be at our next port (Sitka) for about another 36 hours. We were told the night before we got to Sitka that we would meet with the local authorities onboard the ship as soon as we docked in Sitka. We took our suitcases with us and met with the authorities, they asked why we had to get off, then they approved our departure from the ship. During the 36 hours we had to wait we bought internet and were able to skype with family and also booked our flights from Sitka to home. We had travel insurance which we purchased on our own. Our flights from Sitka to home were covered by the trip interruption insurance. We also got all our money back from the days missed on the ship, as well as any non-refundable travel plans. The insurance company required us to have a form completed by my father's Dr. This was completed with no problem. One thing to note, on the form it asks if this is a new diagnosis or not. Keep in mind the look back period applies, depending on what your travel insurance policy is. Sorry you are in this situation. Let me know if you have any questions I didn't answer.
