  1. I was told the reason pizza isn't served at dinner is the oven used for pizza is used for preparing soufflés at dinner time.
  2. It sounds like Seabourn did not meet your expectations - how unfortunate. I guess I'm brainwashed because I am so pleased with Seabourn cruises. The ship and weather rank highest followed by itinerary when I select a cruise. I have cruised extensively and enjoy seeing how the various ports have changed over the years.
  3. Worrying about getting a reservation for fine dining in specialty restaurants is ridiculous when going on a luxury cruise. I have to plan on dining in fine restaurants at home- when I am on a luxury cruise ship reservations should be the least of my concerns.
  4. There's a saying "if ain't broke, don't fix it" The Club on the Sojourn was a lot of fun with the trio AND quartet who were on from January to May of this year. I hope both groups will be back.
  5. There is always the option of ordering from the small menu in the Colonnade and /or having items that are served by the staff behind the buffet. It is not a substitute for the Restaurant but an alternative for people who dislike buffets when the Restaurant isn't open.
  6. You are correct EXCEPT these dogs are permitted when the owner does the paperwork and receives permission to bring the dog aboard. The only remedy I can see is that the owner of the so called service dogs agree in writing to follow the rules set down by Seabourn in order to stay aboard. Owners of "real" service dogs will not have a problem following the rules because the dogs are trained and the owners care and need their dog. Passengers are expected to follow rules-- that includes the owners of the service dogs
  7. The objection I have to service dogs is when the owner does not keep the dog on a proper leash, leaves the dog in the suite to cry or bark because it is unattended, and when the service animal occupies a chair in a public area or dining room. It makes me wonder if the owners of these dogs have them properly trained as service dogs. . The person in need of a service dog is NOT the problem for me. The problem is lack of respect and consideration on both sides. .
  8. Is there really priority embarkation for Diamond members?
  9. I will miss the live music in The Club-- hopefully they will reconsider having live music back for the world cruise.
  10. I am ticketed for cruises in October-December and January and June. I just ticketed these flights within the past two weeks. All cruises were paid for on my credit card which offers some protection.
  11. I called Seabourn Flight ease-- when I received an acceptable flight and price I booked it and paid for it.
  12. I have never had a problem with Seabourn Flight Ease-- currently I have 3 flights booked. I also reserved my seats and checked the airline website to make sure it was on my reservation. I did not book one return flight with Flight Ease because they did not have a non stop for the return. I booked directly with the airline for a non stop flight.
  13. no-- a direct flight means you do not change planes--- but the is a stop or stops a non-stop mean there aren't any stops until you reach your destination
  14. all good wishes appreciated!!!!😀 Thank you!
  15. My choice was cancel this segment of my cruise due to the wedding of a very dear friend or play Russian roulette and arrive the same day. Wish me luck!
  16. I hope that wasn't your experience! I use Luggage Forward for my luggage- and travel with a small carryon bag This is the first time I am arriving the same day as my cruise-- of course the down side is my flight might be delayed. Flight Ease is supposed to make arrangements to board the ship at next port if my flights delayed-- At least the odds of my luggage getting to the ship are good-- even if mine are questionable.
  17. When arriving on a flight booked with Seabourn Air the transfer is included to the ship. If the flight arrives at 7 am and your boarding time is 1pm where do they transfer you to until your assigned boarding time.
  18. I am aware of the repetition of mediterranean ports offered this fall. The fact that I will be in Barcelona 3 times and Rome 2 times in less than 5 weeks on a SUNDAY bothers me. The major stores in both cities are closed on Sunday--and although I enjoy the markets having done them numerous times- I would enjoy strolling around when the stores are open. Many of the wine tours are not available on Sundays. The ship is not the same on turnover days which makes it a great day to be off the ship-- but the ship offers little in tours those days for the remaining passengers. Fortunately the following 2 weeks there is no port repetition because that is the 14 day transatlantic. I enjoy Seabourn and definitely chose the ship over the itineraries.
  19. I am guessing that most of us comparing live music to a DJ were comparing the live music on previous Seabourn cruises to an evening with a talented DJ. The DJ does not create the same atmosphere as live music-- especially when you are on for a lengthy period of time. I can't agree with your view point because I do believe Handre would choose the DJ or live music that he feels the majority passengers would enjoy. It is my personal opinion that live would be more enjoyable. It is always good to hear another viewpoint.
  20. Seabourn knows that the quartet and trio that played in The Club were enjoyed by many--- IMHO it is poor judgment by Seabourn that live music will be discontinued on the shorter cruises during the summer and autumn. Many people take B2B2B2B cruises during the summer and fall and a DJ will change the atmosphere of the club for a lengthy cruise as well as a 7 day cruise. Do you think the Seattle office reads these comments?
  21. I enjoyed "The Club" almost every evening during the 140 nights of the World Cruise. The entertainers were talented and cordial which made the venue especially nice. My guess is my new destination in the evening will be the Observation bar to enjoy live music . There is always the possibility SB will switch to live music in The Club for the 2024 world cruise (or sooner) which would make many of us very happy.
