  1. Yup, they are everywhere, so go at it and have fun with it if you so choose! There are even more now, aa everyone that bought a Cricut during the lock down is just itching for an excuse to use it! 😛
  2. I think they removed it before then. I was on Miracle in Oct of 2019 and it was there. August 2022 was the next time I was on Miracle and it was no where to be found. Only kind of miss it. It always seemed hard to get a game going and the rake was extremely high.
  3. This. All depends on the wind. Had an Aft on a cruise to HI. On the 4 days there, with the wind at our backs, not a drop of soot. The four days coming back, going into the wind, there was soot all over the balcony. Having balconies above you may help shield a bit.
  4. To be honest, I find most of the deserts on the ship kind of meh. The cakes on Lido LOOK fantastic, but always seem to taste rather blah. On a cruise last August, I found some small chocolate chip cookies that were pretty good. Other than that (and the soft serve), the sweets don't do much for me, and that's coming from a large sweet tooth...
  5. I have several. Hawaii. A dolphin stampede going into Ensenada. Driving the Klondike. Aruba. Going under Goldengate. As I ponder the question, I recall the first time I cruised with my wife years ago. She had never been on a cruise, and was nervous about EVERYTHING. When we first got on the boat, we made a bee line straight for a bar on deck, where she promptly discovered a love for "fruity drinks". When we made it to the room some time later, she plopped on the bed and called a family member. She was definitely a few sheets to the wind when I heard her say on the phone: "Not bad at all! You can't even tell that the boat is moving!!" It was then that I gestured towards the balcony window and pointed out that we hadn't left port yet....
  6. THIS! We tried Fly2Fun for the first time last year. We found the perfect flights (good times, non-stop, good price) and booked, but chose the flexible option (accidently?). As the cruise neared, our flights changed a few times, even changed airlines. Ended up with a 6 hour layover (to be fair, scheduled 2 hour) in Chicago on the way home.
  7. You did not mention your whole itinerary, BUT if you are looking for a Luau and are going to Maui, might I suggest this: https://oldlahainaluau.com/show-info/ Is was a great show, and the food was excellent. We rented a car (RIGHT outside the port) and drove to the Ocean Center and the luau after. Maui was far and away my favorite stop.
  8. Oh, and the Hawaii cruise is AWESOME! Have a good time!
  9. Having just done a Miracle to Alaska a few weeks ago, I can tell you that the boarding process is HORRID in San Fran. I do not think it's Carnival's fault, but the porters there were slow and disorganized. When you arrive, the porters do not take your luggage, but instead make you get in a series of long lines, and they grab your luggage when they get to your line. Seems easy enough, but they made a mess of it. My older parents had an 11:00 check in. My wife and I had a 1 PM check-in. When my wife and I got to the port around 12:30 ish, my parents were still in line. There were four long lines at that point, that were indiscernible at first glance. However, I did venture to the front and noticed 4 small signs (11, 11:30, 12, and 12:30. Being that there was no 1 PM line yet, we went to the end of the 12:30 line to wait. Fortunately, it's San Francisco, so we were not waiting in the 95 degree Florida sun, but it was 2:30 before we had our bags taken, and got to go into the terminal to check in. Once we were in Carnival's hands, the checkin line took maybe 15 to 20 mins, and we were on the boat by 2:45-3:00. Yeah, the boat was late to leave.... Even funnier was the the return. Since were in the back corner of the boat, we got to hear the dock workers' expletive laden argument with the crew about how to secure the tie ropes to the dock. Then disembarking at 9AM, there were already passengers lined up to get on, and I got to hear one woman lay into a porter about why they wouldn't let her board yet (besides the mess, she was an hour early, and passengers were still getting off from the previous cruise. I love people....) One other minor annoyance - SF has these little fly-gnat like things that are EVERWHERE, especially at the Alcatraz tour docks next door. They don't bite, but they do swarm and annoy the crap out of you. Some of them stowed away and rode with us to Alaska (contained to the balcony). There weren't enough to be annoying anymore, but we were two stops/5days in before I stopped seeing them....
  10. As mentioned, it is $5 per user for the length of the cruise. The chat app is built into the carnival hub app. I *think* you can add people to your "friends" list by folio number. Just got off a cruise a week ago (Miracle - Alaska) and honestly we found it to be highly unreliable. Some time's we get messages right away. Sometimes they comes in hours later. Sometimes not at all. Really leads to confusion when someone sends you a two part message and you only get the second part...
  11. Can confirm. Just got off a cruise a little more than a week ago, and tried to book a future cruise and was told that they no longer do that on board anymore. (was directed to the website, which you can access on your phone even if you do not have a WiFi plan)
  12. Do not forget to check SNA. Only about a 15-20 min ride from Long Beach, and flight can be cheaper than lax
  13. Forget whether it's allowed or not. With the way luggage gets tossed around, the last thing you should do it check cans of soda lol.
