thank you i have insurance and awaiting what they will cover
will the fees grats etc automatically go back on my credit card or will i have to claim
We cancelled a cruise a few years ago about a week before the sail date due to a death in the family. We had cruise insurance and it covered everything, including the full cruise fare.

Well, there's the choice to not go if people think it's a terrible show...
Are you really not going to a production play based on comments on cruise critic?

I can't even imagine what it will be like with 3 ships disembarking at the same time. Mass confusion for sure. Everyone needs to have a lot of patience. For those on board, stay calm and remember how much fun the rest of the cruise was. Best of luck.
Laura
These 3 ships were all scheduled to disembark earlier this morning.

Last April, on The Enchantment of the Seas, the kummelweck sandwich that I ate was OK. Not great, not terrible. It used to be that these sandwiches were superb and everyone raved about them. I hope things improve.
Those sandwiches have always been the same; meat sliced too thick and difficult to chew.

Short details:
US citizen
closed loop from Ft LauderdaleI misplaced my passport, and I need to see if it's worth the cost/hassle of getting an expedited emergency passport.
Other ports of call I'm ok with proof of citizenship/photo ID to enter
St Thomas (US virgin Islands)
Princess Cays (Bahamas)
Am I going to be stuck on the ship in St Maartin while the hubby goes onshore to do things? Or will I be able to get off?
(i know... life will be hell if we end up missing the ship without a passport, it's a risk)Never been asked for a passport to get on/off a ship in the Caribbean in 20 cruises

No, not walkable. 8 miles, 20 minute drive, according to their website.
Looks like $35 is for 5 people, so the best option would probably be to go to the cab stand and say loudly "Who wants to share a cab into town?".
My mistake, thought those prices were from Taino Bay, which is much closer to Puerto Plata

If we dock at Crown Bay and take a taxi to the Skyride, can we walk thru security at Havensight to do some shopping and lunch?
Thanks!

We are on the Oasis on 10/8 going to Perfect Day and Nassau. The late dinner seating is 7:30, the earliest we’ve ever experienced. Just wondering when the shows are scheduled.
Also, on previous cruises the MDR daily menus are listed on the Royal app. That is not the case on this cruiseThanks in advance for any info.

We always grab a cab at the port and go to Orient. Never had a seaweed issue, always a great time, and plenty of cabs returning to the ship.

Solo equals 2x the points, so 10 points for a 5 night solo for each of them. A lot of money for two solo balconies and why not share a balcony at about half the price of two solos. Wait until next cruise to become diamond.
I agree. Except for a few free drinks,, being Diamond is no big deal.

I love NCL but just be aware that you are comparing a premium cruise line with a mass market one. You can have a great time as long as you understand some of the services are going to be a step down from what you expect from Celebrity. I don't think the step down is far but if you go in trying to compare Celebrity and NCL item by item, you might be disappointed.
We’ve been on Celebrity 5 times, most recently in March ‘23 and it is not a premium cruise line. Same cruise experience as RCCL or Princess

It’s basic supply and demand. There is a pent up demand to travel. It is the same throughout the hospitality industry. Airlines are having all time high bookings,,, higher than pre-COVID and,,,, like the cruise industry are charging what the market will tolerate.
Plus they are facing high inflation for fuel, food, etc. It’s evident almost everyday in our normal lives.

Interested in comments on the current conditions of the beach. Also, how much is the cab fare from the port?
Thanks in advance

I took the NCL beach excursion to Orient Bay beach. It was a great large beach. Nice facilities, nice restaurant with really good food. I'm sure it's easy to get to on your own. I would suggest to see if you go on your own, the option of renting lounge chairs and umbrellas.
I agree Orient is a very good beach. Very easy to take a van/cab for about $8/person each way.

I quoted you directly because you said, and I quote “ If money was no object, everybody would have a suite.” Money is no object to us and we no longer would book a suite unless it was too good of a deal to pass up, and I don’t see that happening anytime soon. So much for the everybody statement.
In your second sentence you say money is no object, then later in that same sentence you say money is a factor. Can’t have it both ways

A related question - if we book the 3 night dining package, can we eat at the same restaurant, Chops, all 3 nights?
Thanks

What ship did you sail on? I am getting mixed reviews between different X ships.
But generally Celebrity is better.
We were on the Equinox. The food in the main dining room was not good, especially the soups, sides, and salads.

It is hard to ruin breakfast.
Royal Caribbean has the lessor quality dining of any of the mass market cruise lines in my opinion. I only book Royal these days with a group I cruise with. Royal is good for groups because of entertainment and activities.
We just got off a 10-nite Celebrity cruise and both thought the food was worse than on Royal.

Depends on the port you are going to.
Sorry, going to Port Everglades

Is Uber a good option to get to the ship from an area hotel? Seems to be cost effective but do they have entry into the port and knowledge of the terminal locations?
Thanks in advance

It was much nicer about 10 years ago before the cruise ships began running excursions.
