  1. Finally but the bullet and got AARP. I had cards from Allstate that were supposed to be delivered 5/22. UPS kept updating my delivery date, then finally just said we don’t know when it will be delivered. Have an open case with UPS and with Allstate. I suspect my delivery driver is going on a cruise soon smh. Even though we buy from Allstate, they are shipped by National Gift Card Corporation, clearly tempting to any unscrupulous delivery person.
  2. Thank you for the photo. I agree, it does look lower than most railings, which would explain why the mom kept saying the railing was only 36.5 inches. This does seem like it’s easier to lean over too far.
  3. Yes, the spam I got was not from AARP directly, but old age related, pain, mobility, car insurance for older drivers, etc. basically anything that could target the normal AARP audience. It all started the day after giving AARP my email.
  4. I saw a social media post made by the traveling companion (fiancé, lover, whatever label) that was made shortly after Carnival reviewed the footage. She said he came back to the room after drinking and gambling but when she woke up later that morning he was gone. She said that was normal for them to go do their own thing, so she didn’t immediately worry. It wasn’t until hours later when she couldn’t find him in his usual spots that she reported it. Carnival reviewed the security footage and “told her what happened”. She didn’t specify whether he fell or jumped but the official statement from Carnival has been that he fell.
  5. No, it displayed in the shopping cart as Price After Points $455 (9% Savings) I wasn’t doing the math, it showed 9% on the screen. Even went back to the listing page to make sure I didn’t misread and that still displayed 10%. When I look now, it does give the full 10% off in the cart but I do see shipping is now $5. Cards running out, prices changing, shipping changing, Allstate is not really worth it any more. But I really don’t want to join AARP, last time I did I got slammed with so much SPAM.
  6. Even more odd, they are listed as a 10% discount for a price $450 when I select them but when I put it in my cart, the price jumps to $455. Frustrating. . . . .
  7. Vaccine and health insurance?? I’m booked on a transpacific leaving Sydney in Feb (not Carnival) and this is the first I’m hearing of these requirements. Do you know if it is specific to Carnival? My line just says they will follow local requirements but I only see vaccines as recommended not required.
  8. Allstate is back to the full 10% discount today
  9. Ugh! Was about to purchase a few more cards since it’s payday but not happy with the 9% discount now. I don’t need very many, so joining AARP would only save a few bucks. I guess the eCard option makes it worth it though.
  10. Finally able to get in today. None of the suggested work arounds helped me the last few days. on another note, UPS keeps updating my delivery. My cards were supposed to be here Monday, then updated Tuesday . Now tracking just says “the delivery date will be provided as soon as possible”. Not blaming Allstate for this but it’s just an added frustration of dealing with physical cards.
  11. No go on the app, Safari on iPhone or iPad, or Edge and Chrome on the laptop. I log in then blank pages or a message telling me to use the app.
  12. Thanks! Didn’t pay attention to that part since I wasn’t going to Colombia.
  13. Yes you can use them anywhere but you have t carry it around. There is a spot to pick them up near the ship, but if you are heading to Bimini or North beach there is a place to pick them up there so no need to lug them around.
  14. Crossing the bridge gives access to Ocean House Beach on the right which is yacht club only, but there is also Bimini Beach and North Beach on the left. You should have been able to cross, unless there was some reason the other beaches were closed. We liked Bimini because all you saw was endless ocean, no other beaches or ships to be seen. I did not snorkel but did see several fish and rays as they swam right up to the shore. But there is very little shade so renting an umbrella is a must.
  15. There are no Covid restrictions whatsoever. No testing and no vaccine needed, so no need for the cards.
  16. I posted the 4 night planner last week. For some reason I’m having trouble posting a link, but you can search my posts.
  17. We had a USB on one side of the mirror, next to a double 220v outlet and a double 110v on the other side.
  18. we did not but I’ve seen other reviews where they received conch salad instead of the chowder
  19. It is not necessary but would speed things up. I just pulled up the embarkation page with the QR on my phone. The port agent seemed a little irritated but she accepted it once I enlarged the screen so she could read the names. The MSC agent at check in just scanned the code and ll was good. She then gave us a printout of the health questionnaire which we signed.
  20. Yes, it’s on deck 7. I meant to visit but never got around to it. They also have fresh seafood to pair with the bubbles,
  21. I did not keep the full daily programs but here are the daily activities Day 1 - Port Canaveral embarkation - Dress: Casual Day 2 - Nassau - Dress: White Day 3 - Ocean Cay - Dress: Tropical Day 4 - Ocean Cay / Sea day - Dress: Casual/Floral
  22. Be prepared for long lines, or plan to walk to a farther away to a less busy bar. Also, some bars will run out of some drinks and if you are the type that wants a specific brand, you may have to hunt it down elsewhere. No issue for me, I just accepted a different brand but for others, it really upsets them. Do I think MSC should do better? Yes! Does it ruin my cruise? Not in the least.
