Thank you for going through that.  I understand that the $753 is the average of three people.  But it shouldn't be.  If they are offering the 3rd/4th guests as being totally free then the price should be based upon the average of two people.  The first and Second guests.  By doing it this way your still paying $753 for the 3 rd guest.   Even though its disguised under the first two passengers.

No you are not.  In you case the first two will pay the same exact 999 whether there is a 3rd and 4th or not.  You simply do not understand the concept of AVERAGE.

I love sailing NCL cruise line.  I enjoy the different ships they have and the specialty dining they offer.  I am almost in the Platinum category.  However I do not like there cruise consultants.  I called in today and spoke with one about taking a Western Caribbean cruise on the Breakaway.  I explained that the cruise I saw was in August or maybe September.  It offered Free everything including 3/4 guests and airfare.  The first consultant could not find the cruise and told me it would be sixty minutes to talk to a supervisor.  I asked to be transferred and he wasn't able to do that.  I called back in again and spoke with a rude person that was out of the corporate office.  He found the cruise and the correct cabin category.  It was priced at $666 mini suite for the first two guests.  But when he finished instead of being $666 for the first two passengers it was $999 not including the taxes and $299 for the 3rd guest airfare.  I asked him how it could change from being $666 to $999 for the first two passengers.  He kept saying he wasn't lying and that is what it is.  I tried to get him to understand the concept but he wouldn't listen.  I asked for his extension and he wouldn't give it to me.  He said he wasn't taking me on as a guest.  I asked to be transferred again to a supervisor and was told he could only do that if I booked a cruise.  I have never dealt with such rude consultants in my life.  I sent an email to guest relations on this.  Waiting to see if they respond.

Nothing changed.  It was not $666 FOR THE FIRST TWO PASSENGERS.  It was an AVERAGE of $666 for each person in your cabin.  It was priced at an AVERAGE of $666 for three passengers. 3 x 666 = 1998.  The actual breakdown of that 1998 was $999 for 1 and 2 and 0 for 3.  NOTHING CHANGED.  You just did not read what it si you were buying and the price at which you were buying it.

Most passengers would benefit by using a travel agent who is a cruise expert.  They can find you just what you want and tell you the price in a way that is easily understood.  Cruise lines pay TAs a nice commission, so it's to your benefit to use their "free" services to help plan a cruise.  And TAs often come up with extra goodies.  I had no idea how beneficial a TA could be until I met one and she's booked our last 5 cruises.  The cost to me is nothing extra, the cruise line pays her agency a commission for my booking.

Except now you have a third party stuck in between you and the cruise line.  Any time you need anything or have a question,  you have to call the TA, have them call NCL and discus the issue with them, then the TA has to call you back and discuss it with you, then if you have a follow up question the loop continues.  MUCH simpler to just get on line and find the cruise you want and book it.  A vast majority of the time you can just as good an offer (if not better) on your own.  Using a TA is a PITA.

Am I the only one that finds Meet & Greets a snoozefest? I've only been to one but there was nothing about it that made me ever want to go to another. What is it some of you like about them?

    VERY simple solution, don't go!

And slavery used to be legal.  A lot of 19th century thinking on this board.  Drinking was illegal at one time, but the rise in organized crime made keeping it illegal impractical.  Weed works the same way, but it will take a lot longer to be legal.  People drink alcohol for the effect of alcohol, often it becomes an "acquired" taste.  I had people tell me they liked the taste of smoking cocaine, but reality they liked the taste because of the following rush they got.  People might not drink to get drunk, but they don't pay $10/drink for the taste.

Oh the list of fallacies goes on endlessly.

In years past there were some short cruises that you basically could get high walking down the deck of cabins.. not so much anymore. if it's legal in the future it MIGHT be allowed the same as cig smoking, only in certain areas

I fixed your post for you.

    B/S,
By your own, admission, you are going on your first NCL cruise.

I'm sure that the ones in your roll call are so happy to see what kind your character you have since anything here is paraphrased or cut an paste.

That sounds like a huge waste of law enforcement resources, so I assume they’re doing it for the profit motive (the thousands of dollars in fines you mention).

Would much rather they were using dogs to fight actual crime, like weapons and explosives.

(I know there are a lot of older and more conservative folks here, but hopefully people can at least recognize the fact that study after study reveals a lot more health benefits from marijuana than, say, scotch or vodka. The times they are a-changing.)

All this said: yeah, OP, legally you’re not even in the clear to fly with it, yet. I think you’re fine with CBD though (domestically).

Possession and use of marijuana IS an actual crime.

No study has shown health benefits from any of that.  At least not any based on independent research with no dog in the fight.  They all actually have detrimental heath effect to onr degree or another.  Because item A is 'less bad' than item B does not in any way indicate that item A is even close to good.

  9. Just fair warning to everyone, if see or notice in any way that you smoke anything anywhere on the ship other than products that are allowed, and do so in allowed areas, you will be reported to the appropriate person.  That should well be the how everyone deals with smoking violators.  You are of course entitled to your own opinions.

If you absolutely have to smoke it and I know many who have to, I wouldn’t cruise if I were you.  My friends refuses to get on a cruise ship because of the strict cigarette rules there are.

No one HAS TO smoke anything.

AS the OP here, that was NOT my major complaint.  In fact, the OP was not a complaint.  It was a notification to other cruisers followed by an editorial comment if you will as I was rather upset, angry, and frustrated.  Thank you for assuming that my OP was a complaint.  Enjoy your day.

"I just received a robocall, and have confirmed this with my NCL cruise consultant that the 13 day Greek Isles & Italy from Rome has been cancelled due to unforeseen mechanical problems.  Way to give us a few days notice NCL."

How is "way to give us a few days notice NCL" not a complaint?  I'd be upset too, most anyone would.  The point that I (and several others) have made is that there was no way for NCL to give you advance notice of an UNFORESEEN event.  It suck that your cruise got cancelled.  However it is rather silly to complain (or make an editorial comment) that NCL did not give you more notice of an unplanned event!

I hope you and everyone else who was scheduled to sail that cruise are able to find an alternative vacation and enjoy it fully.  you have a great day as well.

    Incredibly rude and uncalled for.

LOL so pointing out that complaining that you got short notice for an unforeseen incident is now rude?

I guess then PizaMan's post was way over the line, yet no comment, hmmmm..

Whats ridiculous is your lack of empathy and understanding to someone who is obviously upset.

Now admittedly these are very much 1st world problems but the cost and planning that goes into a cruise is substantial and I would be genuinely gutted if this happened to me.

Why are you inferring that I have no understanding or empathy that someone is upset that a cruise got cancelled.  The OP's  major complaint was about getting short notice  I would be upset as well, however I would not be so silly as to complain that I got short notice of an UNFORESEEN mechanical issue.  Others have pointed out the exact same thing.

    Ridiculous.

Agree it is ridiculous to complain about getting short notice if an unforeseen incident.  My point exactly.  Thank you for understanding.

Does it suck that a cruise got cancelled, yep big time. Does it even come close to making sense to complain about short notice when there was an unforeseen issue, uh well...

Why do you always have to be a tool when you post?

So now pointing out that someone is complaining about only getting short notice of an unforeseen incident is being a tool?  Wow thw snowflake syndrome is really getting bad.
