  1. We are due to be on it in Feb 2024, from what I have read there is a pool bar serving drinks, but not food. Not sure about a shot for snacks in the cabin, I wouldn't have thought so.
  2. Looking at the new menus that have been posted recently with the new $5 surcharge for additional main courses I see the daily classics have been massively reduced. No Steak, no Salmon, no Rotisserie chicken, reduced choice of pastas.. Will be travelling with our 9 and 13 year old daughters and if there is nothing they fancy (or us for that matter) on the main choices they would have had plenty of choice on the old classics, not much to choose from on the new one.
  3. If so is it just the basic menu and if it is can you upgrade to one of the more expensive menus? Thank you.

    Weather

I wouldn't say it would be guaranteed in May, it probably will be on the whole. Of the above mentioned I have only been to Spain in May and we did have a couple of cooler days, bit of rain as well from memory.
  5. As a European (English) I can totally understand why MSC, an Italian line have no real dress policy when it comes to shorts and other casual wear. When taking a summer beach type holiday in Europe (Spain, Italy, France, Portugal etc) you would be hard pressed to find anyone in trousers, jeans or any type of long pants for that matter on an evening, too warm for a start. We have only been on 4 cruises, all RC and on each have dressed up on the formal night, me in a tux, wife and girls in evening dresses, we did plan to do the same on our upcoming MSC Seascape cruise for the gala night but after reading on here I don't think we will bother, we have enjoyed getting dressed up in the past on Royal but I think we may look a bit out of place on MSC as I get the impression we might be the only ones 😂
  6. Thats interesting, I was planning to book one night at Butchers Cut on our upcoming 14 night cruise on Seascape but after looking at the MDR menus I don't think I will bother. We would only do the dining package menu which i believe is around $59? You can only have a Filet or a NY strip on that menu, Filet will be available to us twice on the Gala night and NY Strip is available every night, NY strip would be my choice in Butchers Cut so don't really see the point of paying the up charge. Unless anyone can advise that the steaks are all that much better in Butchers Cut and worth the $59 each?
  7. We are yet to sail on Seascape (Next Feb) but from what I have read I don't think there is. You can get Burgers, Wings and Nachos in the sports bar (for a fee) but not sure about on embarkation day.
  8. Sorry to jump on, I know this is probably like asking how long is a piece of string but does anyone think MSC will sort this out. We have the easy Plus package, the wife likes wine and Prosecco, looking at old menus I would now assume Prosecco and and all of the mid range wines by the glass are now going to cost $1, as people have previously said not a huge deal and it is what it is but just slightly annoying when you have paid for something and the goalposts are moved.
  9. We only have the Easy Extra ( If that's what its called) which is now saying drinks up to $10, was $9. We can upgrade to PE for $20 a day which now says includes drinks up to $16, sounds like a case of MSC not knowing its ar$e from its elbow as usual.
  10. Ive only used room service once on a ship (Royal), took a good hour to arrive, this was probably about 11.30pm, to be honest was sick of waiting for it to arrive. I have read MSC's room service Pizza menu and that says allow 20-30 mins to arrive which isn't too bad.
  11. I'm not overly fussed about a 24hour place, although some additional included dining options wouldn't go amiss.
  12. Oh really, that's good to know. I think it was a Youtube review I was watching and they had said the buffet completely shut around 10.30/11.00ish. Good news if you can get Pizza until 1am 👍
  13. I've just tried the link on my booking confirmation and it lets me through to the online check in section, didn't realise we could do that already, will have to get it filled in.
  14. The cruise isn't until next Feb, have booked it with an American TA so hopefully they can iron out any problems we may have. 🤞
  15. If you were to fancy a snack before bed late on Seascape, are there any options? I'm sure I read/heard the buffet shuts around 10.30pm and then that is it, is that correct? What time does the sports bar serve wings etc until?
  16. Actually, yes that was a difference, premium on UK, easy plus on US, but we looked at the menus and thought we would be OK with easy plus. I do like a Malbec which is unfortunately $1 above easy plus but for £700 I can buy a few glasses after I have tried the alternatives. We have only sailed Royal before and were a bit disappointed that you can't just pay the difference between the package and the drink price like on Royal but then again we have got a 14 night cruise with drinks for not much more than a 7 night Royal one without drinks.
  17. I should have looked around really, I looked at MSC UK site and then an American TA site that I was aware of thats been around for years, even taken gratuities into account it was £700 cheaper so went with that, hopefully should be OK. We can access our booking through the link on the TA's booking confirmation.
  18. Your post worries me, we are British but have booked through an American TA, deposit paid, all of our address details, country of residence are on the booking.
  19. I have never been on anything less than a 7 night cruise so couldn't comment, was just chirping in on the price. Do you tend to get a lower level of service on the 3 night cruises?
  20. We are not regular cruisers, have done 4 since our first in 2004 on Jewel of the Seas, have also been on Allure, Adventure and a British ship called Ocean Village. We have booked one for next Feb on Seascape, $3,700 for two adults, a teen and a child in an inside with drinks and Wifi for 14 nights. We were looking at RC but were being quoted more for 7/8 night cruises without drinks. Have done a lot of reading up and I think we will enjoy it, we are form England so will probably be more accustomed to the European style of food and service which probably isn't as a high standard as the American lines. For the price though, you can't complain.
  21. Yeah I had seen people say 5% + 5% on here previously.
  22. TA added my number, 10% discount, no mention of any other benefits but more than happy with 10% off what I already thought was a great price.
  23. I thought USA sailings didn't have any restrictions anymore?
