  1. This is our recent experience with Eden on the Edge July 5 Alaska sailing. We booked Eden for 2 on a flash sale, paId in full. A week before our sailing we called to change the date of reservation from Day 5 to Day 4. We were told they could cancel the original reservation and rebook at new (higher) price. We declined. Once onboard the retreat concierge was able to change nights easily for us. We were given a rating card from our server after the meal. We gave him high praise. We gave the ambience a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10 and the food a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. The food was just not very good. The risotto was basic. The wellington bland. The desserts were decent. The wine steward poured my husband a glass of red bordeaux that was spoiled/brown and blamed it on the wine having been opened at lunch ? (Eden is not open at lunch and it was far too gone to be just 1/2 day old). The music from upstairs was too loud. We found the food at Le Bistro for lunch to be a 10 and the food in Luminae to be very good. I have read other reviews where people have had good luck with Eden. We just did not.

  3. We experienced a less than what we knew experience recent April into May Mera. YC director was gone/personal reasons. Felt almost like "opportunity to do less".
  4. The survey process is disappointing. If you are honest and rate something as an 8 or 9 and not a 10 then this is considered negative. An 8 or 9 would be close to perfect. Excellent. Nothing is perfect. Reporting a 10 seems disingenuous. I hope that we are not pleaded upon incessantly by crew for a 10 as this will 1) be a distraction to our vacation and 2) we will end up not completing the survey due to this. Celebrity needs to get it better.

  9. When we returned to our cabin, our butler had set up snacks and chilled our champagne for us. It was just what we needed after a tiring excursion. Looks good. Was this done on request or without having to ask?
  10. So from sail away to now, how have the seas been? Still holding on to the rails like I’ve had one too many… but up until today, it’s been very smooth. - Hope it gets better. I am concerned for the last sea day as I do not do well with high seas/motion. On a scale, of 10 being worst, what would you gauge the rocking and rolling to be?
  11. Yes! Maître’d is Ugur. Nia is the Hostess and Melvin is the Sommelier. Thank you. Have not met any of them yet, but will soon.
