Azamara arranged all our visas, they did collect all passports and had Egyptian employee on ship reviewing them before ports and then handed them back before we disembarked

We were there in October and used Memphis tours. Very happy with them, yes lots of police presence, a lot of security check points. We never felt in danger. Our cruise also did safaga and we stayed at hotel off ship. Had a wonderful time and highly recommend !

We went on Ponant and all announcements and lectures were in both French and English. Yes we had to walk through solution to clean boots and had to scrub them with a brush for South Georgia island. Our boots were stored in the hallway and there was never a smell from them. We went in March and saw loads of penguins, in both Antartica and South Georgia.

We were last ship on Ponant last year in early March , loads of penguins! If u can squeeze in South Georgia island I highly recommend !

We used Ponant, it was cheaper than the other ships, but still had some luxury. Definitely want a ship that is less than 200 people, and that does land tours. If u can squeeze in South Georgia is was amazing !!

We did this trip in March 2022! (U will love it), Antartica we brought thermal top and bottom, track pants to wear over the thermals, fleece top to wear over thermal, neck gator, mittens, water proof pants and hat. They provided our heavy coat. We were never cold and somedays especially hiking we often had to unzip our jackets and remove mittens as we were too hot. For the ship make it easy with khakis \ jeans and Long sleeve tops that u can alternate. We each brought only 4 tops. Only 2 couples on our cruise dressed up, everyone else was super casual.

Ponant (sorry I thought I mentioned it in post)

We did antartica in March, had 9 landings in 5 1/2 days in Antartica, and 6 landings in South Georgia. We were so lucky that the weather was good and we had only 64 passengers. Getting in and out of zodiacs, the guides are very helpful. We did have a few people with mobility issues and only one day they advised them to not go ashore and they took them on a zodiac ride. They might not have hiked far on land but there was lots to see right at the shore. For me I would suggest going to shore it was beyond amazing walking around the penguins and seals. And if budget and time allows South Georgia was awesome.

We flew American Airlines Raleigh NC to Miami to Buenos Aires in business class.

Miami ? We flew direct from there in March
