  1. And you still can. Of the big 4 lines, none are creating ships of that size anymore. The economics just do not work.
  2. If ever a good example for the need of travel insurance, this is it.
  3. From a FB post on the continuing cancelations: Delta Air Lines Meltdown: Getting Worse Before It Gets Better As New Systems Crash: Monday was supposed to be better for Delta than Sunday – and it was, just cancelled ‘only’ 1,153 flights or 29% of their operation, and delayed another 45% more. On Sunday it was 36% canceled and 44% delayed.
  4. According to the network news, it has been a total mess (airlines). I have not seen a peep here regarding cruises.
  5. I was shocked to see that the ripple effect was still continuing. Reports this AM say it will not be totally back till mid week.
  6. LOL, I did not. Guess to shows how many there have been . Just googled it based on a TV news spot. m Let's try again. Thanks for the reply. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/delta-crowdstrike-outage-flight-status/
  7. If ever there was doubt on the necessity for travel insurance when flying in for a cruise, this global disaster puts the need to bed. Surprised we have not read about horror stories from cruisers affected. https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/28/business/flights-canceled-omicron-covid/index.html
  8. We got to tour the Mardi Gras when she first came over as part of a TA event. This was the day before her first sailing. Doing the tour, I was very impressed with Loft 19. The employee that was there to explain how it worked was asked how much it was to go (other than staying in the suites than include it - which we have done 4 times) how much it cost, and she said she did not know. Later before leaving at the end of the day, we swung by guest services and asked the same question, They said that the the pricing had not be set yet. We sailed on the very next sailing and found out the cost then. I was shocked as to how high it was. During further conversations I found out that the sales for Loft 19 were going very strong. I had hopes that the prices would settle down. We are going the TA of the MG next year was decided to late to get an Aft Excel corner suite (my fav room in the fleet) which includes Loft 19. I still do not think I will pay these prices, even for that many sea days. Thanks for the reply
  9. I think it all about balance as opposed to maximize this or that, but that is just me.
  10. Their (Carnival) motivation for making the change is clear. When someone books, the point is moot, everybody from everywhere knows EXACTLY what they will pay. Changing the quote process had nothing to do with Europe or anywhere else other than legislative changes (laws) that came from the largest state on the west coast. Hence the question why we were discussing Europe.
  11. I bash nobody. You state your view, which I am fine with. I state mine which apparently you have issue with. Of course they are separate or we would not be discussing it. You first said you did not want them combined, then said you wanted them combined (which I do not, but again fine). I commented that you did want them combined (or the ability to get benefits for loyalty while not paying the same as others), which again is fine, all view count. Notice I did not say you bash anything or anyone, which I did not do either.
  12. While I do not know, I would be shocked of Carnival does own the casino operation, while they may vary well sub out the operations of them. Are they profitable? Of course, or they would not be there. I have no issue with CCL discounting rooms for people to come lose money in. My gripe is that they count the same as the rooms I pay for (from a loyalty perspective). I pass thru the casino's, but do not feel the addiction others do.
  13. Or, someone just said do it. Where is Carnival least profitable? Europe and the United States of California, huh, what a coincidence.
  14. While we SHOULD follow Europe’s lead on many thinks like data and personal information integrity, this is an area where I would hope we would not….but that is just my view…..
  15. Sounds good to me (your experience, as well as the LI Ice Tea).
  16. The bread gets buttered from all, not just casinos. I would agree that they entice these cruisers to continue to lose by giving them discounted cruises. I do not think that it ties to anything else.
  17. Unless something has changed, my experience is that it in fact is the net of the discount to the price of the drink. Maybe I get special treatment …..😉
  18. I would have to take a look at the plans to see what is below that area, but the migration was way to quick to add on the fly. Probably a moot point anyways. I am not interested in the area without the pool (unless significantly cheaper than Havana). We will be on the ship beginning of next month for a TA event, No tours scheduled, but I will ensure I get a chance to walk around some. I know you have but want my eyes on the product.
  19. We have had the opportunity to try more than few as we have cruised the Excel class 6 times (and two more coming up next moth and November). I have not found something I did not enjoy but some are def better than others.
  20. We have similar variables. I am curious, what price would entice you?
