  1. Ian, the storm that Insurers are still holding out on. https://www.cnn.com/2022/09/30/business/hurricane-ian-cost/index.html
  2. Thanks, one of the rewards of writing reviews, in in reliving the experience. It is one heck of a room, the best we have ever been in.
  3. It sure is not normal, but I am not sure what normal is anymore. I live in Ft Myers, we were hit by Ian 09/28/24, and not even close to back.
  4. and closer by a significant margin for you.
  5. I was not questioning your choice, just stating the difference in the two ships.
  6. pretty sure they will NOT charge a solo for 2 people. It might be a quote thing but I doubt they would do it at booking.
  7. There is no rule of thumb in terms of how long to takes to return. It is totally dependent on what damage is caused. You will know when the storm passes fairly quickly.
  8. quoting your post to show you how it works when you use the quote button
  9. Probably a glitch, I doubt there was a price increase just for solo cruisers...
  10. They are sister ships and the Celebration has a hundred plus more people.
  11. Devastation from hurricanes takes YEARS to recover from, it def is something, but I can assure you it is hell.
  12. The shows are done by a cast that stays together for at least 4 to 6 months time. They train together in FL before being deployed to a ship and the show are pretty constant as well, although usually with a new ship they may bring on a new show. We have a friend who is part of a playlist production team.
  13. The salad bar in Serenity is very good.
  14. Monster storm. https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at2+shtml/090034.shtml?cone#contents
  15. I was briught down to the area used for the cooking, but that was all
  16. Very typical to juggle ports and skip one here or there. We went to Cozumel between two hurricanes (Wilma, I believe) that trashed the island and pier and stalled for over the island for 24 hours and dumping 2+ feet of rain. As a side note, as we were riding back to the ship in a taxi (the day before Wilma hit), I asked the cabby if he was worried and he said, no senor they always turn….
  17. I would agree that with more expensive cruise lines, there tends to be smaller ships and they tend to have less kids cruising on these lines. That said there are no absolutes. The number of cruise lines that cater to long cruises and small er ships is few, but not exclusive.
  18. I have been on a TON of cruises and even more excursions. I cannot ever remember seeing furniture, but to be honest I was not looking for furniture either,
  19. So….what I get out of this is 5 star lines do not have spills…..right?
  20. The latest asa of 5pm https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at2+shtml/205328.shtml?tswind120#contents
  21. Based upon the latest (and these things can change hourly). I know this for a fact, I would not bet the ranch on this happening, but it is WAY too early to determine when and where or if it will hit.
