  1. Yes, the same table at dinner will have the same waitstaff every night.
  2. Could also be Victoria or somewhere else. Portland was just a guess after some recent Princess dry docks were done in Portland.
  3. Correct. It would require a lot of installation, but if they were going to put that much effort, then they should just rip the bathroom and cabin down to the bones and redo them like Celebrity did to Millennium and Summit. Which I highly doubt Princess will ever do.
  4. I just checked and there is no gap. There are more 10-day sailings on sale.
  5. Make a reservation for four in either Concerto or Symphony; neither are in the aft like Allegro. If you have a table preference, just talk to the manager in that dining room you're sitting in and let them know if you have a preference or if you'd like to revisit the table you were given on day one. Most managers should understand this because it's been done for us post-comeback with Dine My Way. I have no preference on the specialty dining but I do think the dinner buffet can be underrated. Check the evening menu theme - it could be interesting, so have a look and embrace the options.
  6. Actually, the prize may or may not still be a bottle of champagne. YMMV. Also, some egg drop challenges might be very spontaneous, where all of those interested will kind of just make their egg drop contraption right then and there. But a recent cruise saw the egg erop sign-up be about a week before the actual drop, which gave participants a lot of time to be creative and thoughtful in their designs. The winner of the last egg drop I saw was lauded for their engineering of the contraption holding the egg within their overall design. Again, the vibes you encounter will all be dependent on your ship's entertainment staff and also the length of your cruise (IMO the longer the cruise, the more easygoing and thoughtful).
  7. I recall reading a recent review about the Puppies in the Piazza on this forum and they said it may not be all that it's chalked up to be, especially if the puppies are tired and/or "injured" and there aren't that many of them to begin with. YMMV for how your experience goes.

  10. I may have been too literal about us going back to the port at our boarding group time. Given when the ship arrived, we could've very easily entered the port earlier than our selected time; the port people weren't actually checking anything and they just didn't want someone getting into the port 'too early'
  11. Yes, from our experience, that's what happened. Same thing if you were to walk as well.
  12. I mentioned in my earlier post that Paul Chandler-Burns takes over for Enchanted from "late-July onwards" (no idea of the date). It's possible Gary could leave for vacation and then come back by then, while Paul is transferred elsewhere or something, but my gut instinct is that this scenario probably won't be happening. But entertainment staff can get "trans-shipped" often, especially at any moment's notice, so no one really knows anything.
  13. If you want to do a cruisetour or an independent land trip, do the land portion first and then use the southbound cruise to wind down.
  14. Ah ok! I do have a more specific answer to this part after some thinking. So we traveled to the port independently and wanted to test just how early we could get there by actually visiting the port before the ship even arrived and they did turn us away at the gate to the port. What they sent to you definitely does occur, and they told us to "come back during your arrival group timeframe" (something along those lines). And so we did just that and all went well after that. I had initially viewed what you said when it pertained to arriving at the terminal. Like if you had arrived at 10AM for a initially chosen 12PM arrival group, for example --> this they never checked nor verified at the terminal entrance.
  15. From my experience a few weeks back in Southampton, this isn't happening. It certainly could happen this summer, but I did not get those vibes from my encounter on our sold-out sailing. But they don't even care about the app either; the QR code is like a random souvenir at this point. Honestly, it feels like no port really seems to care about it, so why is Princess still bothering if it's not being adhered to?
  16. The biggest complaint I've seen people have with the regular cabin showers on ships like Caribbean and her sisters are the unadjustable shower heads. Can be a deal breaker for many. I also don't remember if showers on this ship have a little ledge for shaving (photo from Jeter shows what you could've expected from Majestic). Otherwise, Princess bathroom design for balconies and insides have hardly changed for decades (a new design is only just coming next year with Sun).
  17. Alfredo's is on deck 6 on the Majestic whereas it's on deck 7 on all of her sister ships. So that may be confusing. To your mother-in-law's point, Princess did take a long time to update the deck plan even when Majestic became the first to resume service back in 2021. And they also just take forever to make the right updates to...well, many things. So I get that.
  18. Absolutely loving the breathtaking pictures from the Inside Passage. Looking forward to following along for your 3-week journey and hope everything goes off without a hitch!
  19. On the ships in this class (Royal-class) that I have been on, every band they've had has been excellent to dance to, so hopefully you will have the same experience. The ship's Piazza is often genuinely full of life, whether you're a slower dancer, a ballroom dancer, a party dancer, etc. There will be events listed in the daily planner sent out to the staterooms each night prior, and you'll see when the band plays, whether they have a themed set, and so on. Lots of space to let loose, from my experience. Yes, Enchanted Princess does have open seating for dinner, as of now. Reservations can be done via the app, but there are lines for those without as well. Who knows if Princess changes things up before 2024 lol. And yes, there are both of these things onboard. Thermal suite in the spa on deck 5 and the "adult pool" pertains both to the small aft infinity pool on the lido deck, as well as the much larger "retreat pool" on deck 17.
  20. sigh this makes me both laugh and cry at the same time. The app has had so much potential since its birth like half a decade ago, but they took forever to launch it and then COVID killed any momentum it was trying to build at all, and now it still can be just a total clunker, but with a ton of staffing issues to contend with and a lackluster IT to boot. Fantastic impression for first-timers! And David's a Princess old-time CD, who's now an (associate?) hotel GM (essentially the one who was onboard with you), so that's likely what happened here. I haven't been on Carnival in a minute but I do look back fondly at some of the moments that you can only have on Carnival (I'm with you on fun deck parties and Guy's), and I really appreciate the concise comparisons you gave. Your review of Emerald does hearken back to the several more pointed threads in this forum about the ship's cruises so far this summer season from LA. Hopefully it improves and in the meanwhile, hope you can give Princess another try some day. (and I'm also hoping that Princess gets their act together here for at least those first few days!)
  21. Be sure to join your cruise's roll call here as well for more community input (I believe this is your cruise):
  22. We do the same and I'd actually encourage anyone who's motivated to really wipe down some of the most touched areas that you know aren't really getting cleaned. Besides the remote, I mean things like the part of the lamp base, the edge of the chairs, the curves in the trim of the nightstands and tables, etc. You wouldn't believe the (months-old? years-old?) gunk, the stains, and other things we have picked up that you know you'd end up touching and potentially bringing home otherwise. To answer the fun prompt posed by the question, we've actually brought some of our favorite packaged snacks (like bars or even Pocky sticks) with us for when we go out on excursions or in town and know we won't be getting a snack stop. It's just like a quick pick-me-up for on-the-go.
  23. Yes, I believe "cruise moments" are when the photographers walk up to you during times like dinner or out on deck or if you take one during the Captain's Circle Party, etc. They come with the frame with the caption and all that. It's different when you take the ones with the background, which are more "full-size".
  24. Hi OP (and to anybody else), these are some of what's being sold right now (just off a cruise). We didn't take any full background photos (these were the niche shots, like gangway/port ones), so we don't have info about 8x10s.
  25. You and me both. It makes me feel like an utter hoarder but that deal was so unbelievably good, especially for longer cruises. Photos taken on a cruise just resonate in a different way, you know? (...while also sitting in a box somewhere)
