  1. If you're looking for a singles cruise specifically, you'll probably have to go through a travel agency. I don't believe Carnival sells singles cruises.

Carnival has select sailings with no solo supplement. I booked a 5 day cruise (OV room) for $189 late last year. It appears they release these only a couple of months before the sailing date.

There are some GREAT deals on solo cruises on the Sunshine this month as well.

  2. However, the 2 tops are only about 8" apart so they are in no way private. I always request a 2 tops with 2 chairs so I don't get stuck in the middle of those booth/chair combos.. They are really hard to get in and out of.

Alternately, we request one of table/booths on the end so at least you only have to deal with another table on one side of you.

  3. And if you don't mind being bored out of your mind, there's always the free Champaign at the Art Auction.

Boring? You're doing it wrong! I love getting the assistants all hyped up that we're interested in one of those hideous Peter Max's. :D

  4. Our previous 4 cruises were great, but #5 was not so for us. Came home feeling, CCL not what it has been. MDR service (early seating) extremely slow, food not as good tasting as in the past, Piano Bar player (forget his name) very rude/arrogant attitude, Shows (I won't even try to discuss.)

I've heard poor things from many people about the piano guy on Fascination.

YTD worked well for us though we asked for specific tables after the 2nd night and were accommodated.

  5. How long ago was that? Since solo cruisers pay the double occupancy price now, they are supposed to get the whole OBC. This was changed a couple of years ago, and I did take advantage of it. I got $100 OBC for a 7 day cruise. It's listed on the last line:

    On Board Credit Offer

    • $50.00 USD per stateroom on a 3/4/5 day cruise

    • $75.00 USD per stateroom on a 6-day cruise

    • $100.00 USD per stateroom on a 7-11 day cruise

    • $200.00 USD per stateroom on 12 day or longer cruises

    • Single occupancy receive 100% of the on board credit.

I booked a cruise that had no solo supplement. Couple of months ago. I should have clarified that.

  6. On the specials page they have a single passenger line. You hit it and it shows a huge list of cruises. Some are gray and some are white. No distinction is given, but the white ones are on sale and all the others are not.

Thanks for that info! I was hoping they would continue the solo supplement discount into 2014.
