Not impressed by bartenders in harmony suite lounge , extremely weak drinks , they try to give you cheaper wines and liquor. Only night that was crowded was first rest were fine , there is only 5 barstools and we were able to get seats except for first night. WiFi which is free with grand suite on oasis class has been pretty good.

First night is always busiest. They serve filets for dinner that evening. Probably better than chops in my opinion

Because I wanted both cruises to be on my loyalty

i need to increase my loyalty to move up to D+

If your husband is in the JS he will get the points along with your friend..you will not get the points but when you travel agin he will be ahead of you by the number of points he got for the doubled points but they match his status..just not the points..so in all probability he will be D+ sooner but you will get the perks when you are with him

  3. We have never had lunch in chaps..first few. Times we did b2b we had an ok lunch in main dining room..could times on oasis class had lunch in solarium cafe..now we just skip it ..nothing special at all..depending on where your port is you may be off the ship from 10 or 45 minutes..  you will meet all the other cruisers somewhere on the ship until all other people are off the ship. Then you will disembark and the authorities will clear the ship and back on you go. While at the meeting RC will give you your new sea pass cards. Carry your wine on and if anyone questions you just explain your b2b and they will let you take them

Ok wow. Im glad I asked!  We will be prepared to tip them as they are definitely assisting us with dinner reservations.

as for the suite lounge bartenders it sounds like we need cash for that too.  In other venues, I have usually signed the $0 receipt and added a little more if warranted.

off topic but are they giving out receipts for using diamond vouchers and refreshment package?  I usually add a tip there.  If they have stopped doing that I want to have extra $1s when we board.

when you add a tip to the receipt the money is put into the tip pool for the bartending staff...i have always carried $1 bills to tip the bartenders that i frequented. they learn your account number so after several days you will not even have to show your sea pass card..and they usually tell me if i have reached my 5 day drink limit and i just tell them to use DW's account

Hi, I'm looking into one of the Canada/New England cruises r/t from Boston in Sept. or Oct. of this year.  I've never said on RC before, and had a few questions:

1). When on board, am I able to purchase a beverage package?

2). Can you take wine bottles on board?  If so, how many per person?

3). What is the corkage fee to bring your own bottle of wine to MDR?

The rates I've been looking at are for cruise only, I was curious if there's an option to buy a beverage package once on board.  Thanks in advance.

beverage package is cheaper if purchased pre-cruise but yes you can purchase on board

you are allowed one bottle of wine per adult person in a cabin

i have never been charged a corkage fee when i bring a bottle on board either in maid dining room or a specialty restaurant

Often, we don’t use every voucher, and that is OK. i’ve never had a day when I’ve used all that have been allocated.

I admit, it is difficult to leave an unused voucher  at first  but if you don’t need your vouchers, then just don’t bother to get a beverage at the end of the day. I’m not sure what happens to the  bottles of water left in cabins  at the end of a cruise. I don’t know if they have to trash them or they can put back into stock.

i asked my stateroom attendant what they do with the leftover sodas and waters. He said they can take them for personal consumption if they want. I also offer my attendate a cold drink if i catch him working

You aren’t kidding. I'm fortunate enough to have our next cruise paid for by my generous FIL & actually got a reasonable deal for next Spring Break via dumb luck (a new TA happened to have a good rate & tossed in some surprise OBC I wasn’t even expecting) but the deals I’m used to are long gone.

Since I’m almost there, I know the actual D+ BOGO perk reads “booked on nights 1 or 2” but I also know I’ve read about people occasionally being allowed to use them on other nights. Do you just ask politely & hope they let you choose other nights?

i always book on night one for whatever night i want to do a specialty dining. All you need to do is pay for it on the first night

  8. i have had bartenders tell me that my 5 drinks were all used up but DW still has drinks left on hers. of course that is after a few tips spread out over a few drinks. they always ask if i want to use DW's voucher and of course i say yes..and a thank you..i always tip $1 per drink whereever i get a drink

We usually do Princess, so first time on a short trip on navigator of the seas. A couple questions if anyone can answer any, it’s very appreciated!

    1. Are there any good ballroom style music dance venues onboard (foxtrot, waltz, cha cha, etc)?

    2. are children (age 9) allowed to do the escape room with adults present?
    3. Is the suites lounge nice and do they include alcohol beverages complimentary?
    4. Anyone done the refreshment package and is it worth it?  I drink but prefer to mix mocktails in to avoid drinking too much. Are non alcoholic beers included in it?

also if anyone has any recommendations for good shows or things they liked. We are traveling small group with children 8-9 years of age. Been so long since i cruised now and feeling lost. Plus this ship seems to offer way more activities then princess, which is more understated. So feeling overwhelmed a little. 🤷‍♀️

suites lounge is ok. Depending on what ship for complimentary drinks. Oasis class and odyssee class there is a happy hour for beer and wine from 11-11. sometimes the bartender will pour a mixed cocktail. depends on bartender.

the drinks are usually $12-$14 per drink plus gratuity of 18% so do the math on how many you would have per day and then price the current cost for the package

I received a pop up from my app that I can book restaurants already and I do not sail until July of 2024.  You can purchase all sorts of things that you could not prior.  Here are my questions.  Do things like restaurant reservations fill up this early (16 months!) and does the deluxe beverage package ever go even more on sale (20% off) than it is now?

if you are interested in the drink package you can book anytime and if the price goes does call and request the lower price. Black Friday is the day the prices usually drop

Carnival (corporation) had a gentleman's agreement of exclusivity for Turks and Caicos. If you look at the port schedule, it's only Carnival Corp brands.

But RC is working on making that part of their rotation and Mariner has a one-off stop there on its last cruise before dry dock.

DW and i are sailing out of barbados in april on a b2b and have a stop on each week in T&C.  it is on the rhapsody..we picked this cruise because of the different stops..not all but some

I’ve become a singe malt scotch girl—just one every few days;  neat, thank you very much 😊.

We haven’t cruised for a good while and will be sailing on the Anthem. My preferences are Balvenie or Mcallan. Will I find either of those on board? And are top shelf liquor choices the same across all the RCI ships? If I use my Diamond voucher, will I just be charged the difference,  as I expect one scotch will cost more than $13?

    Thank you in advance.

was just on the harmony and my drink of the week was a bulleit manhattan. Was never charged over the alloted $14 per drink so i doubt a maclellan which i believe was served in most bars to be over $14

Just got back from a cruise on Adventure with my sister and friend all 3 of us got a crystal Blick.  The only change was, we went to C/A to ask for it.  Last time I  received a letter telling me I  could get it delivered to my cabin, or mailed to me , or decline it.  Ambassador  told us they no longer mail them thats the only change.

I hate when the staff doesnt know whats going on.

  14. Just finished a cruise on the harmony and DW and i just reached a level for a new block. I asked in the diamond lounge and asked if the block is delivered to the room or mailed. The concierge said they discontinued that program and are looking at starting a new one.. is this true???

    TIA
