The last thing I’d want to do on a cruise is cook my meal! I look forward to cruising for all the wonderful food that other people have done the cooking! But to each their own.

I had a great time at a Master Mixologist class at the Alchemy Bar.  The mixologist had me get behind the bar to create my drink, a french 75.  It was fun but I wouldn't want to make drinks for everyone. Like you said, you're on vacation to relax😎

    $20 range ?  😲

Just bought  100 shares this morning for $31.50 -- Analysts have CCL as a 'HOLD'.

I think that it will trade sideways to up from here as it's way oversold -- down 40%.

What does this mean? Trade sideways? Way oversold? Thanks!!

For the Shareholder OBC, you need 100 shares.  There are a couple strategy folks may be using by purchases multiple lots of 100 shares.

    1.  Folks are buying at the lower price with plans to sell the shares they purchased at a higher price, when the stock eventually recovers.  This would leave them 100 shares they purchased -- as in my case, at $31.50 a share.

    2. Folks may be cost dollar averaging to lower their total cost basis of shares.  For instance, folks may have purchased 100 shares a month ago at $51.50, so they may have a long wait before the stock hits that price again to break even.  But if they purchased another 100 shares at $31.50, then their break even point ( cost basis ) is now ($51.50 + $31.50) / 2 =  $41.50.

    Thx for explaining that!

I do my own "excursions" in ports where I can walk to where I want to get to.  Belize-the museum (great by the way), snorkeling in Grand Cayman( a dive shop let us snorkel from their site), Cozumel, -spending a day at El Cid, Nassau, the Pirate museum.

When we are in Nassau, my DH and I like to go to John Watling's Distillery. They give an interesting and historical tour and the grounds are lovely.  Then we walk down hill to Hill Street where Graycliff Hotel is.  The hotel property is beautiful. That's our do-it-yourself excursion.  We took our girls to the Pirate Museum, which was fun and very informative.

When I read this - the slacks, button down and tie, I thought huh. I did a little searching and this was pretty much unanimous in various wordings.

Is it okay to wear a tie without a jacket?
The short answer is a firm, 'no'. The simplest reason is that it's highly likely that any occasion that calls for a tie is going to call for a jacket too. And the opposite – for any occasion that doesn't call for a jacket, it's doubtful you'll be breaking any style rules or dress codes by losing the tie as well.

Yeah, my fashionista DH wouldn't wear a tie without a jacket unless he took the jacket off because he became too hot.  That's right, I said it, my guy gets hot😋 remember Valentine's Day just happened😍

  6. What I wear at home...I will be the lady in pajamas strolling everywhere😉 it's funny, when I am out during the summer in white linen pants and a Lily Pulitzer top, I've had people say "looks like your going on a cruise" which I reply "I wish!"😄

I really appreciate this tread. My husband is a restaurant server & relies on tips so he is a big tipper & we are going to Rome and cruising the Med in 2021.  I'm a bit relieved as I'm trying to plan a budget & it's interesting to hear Europeans feel almost insulted by our over tipping. It's such a part of our culture. So glad for these other points of view!

I waited tables many years ago and what brought the hourly wage down was that the government assumed the waiter was making at least 7% in tips off of the amount of sales for the night. So, if I served $100 of food/beverages to a table the government would assume I made at least $7 in tips from that table and I was taxed on that in my paycheck from the restaurant.  Is that the case now?  Just curious...

I have looked for a long time at several places to find swimsuits that are fashionable, well made, and fit well. I recently ordered several from Hapari and LOVE them. They have been having a 60% sale for awhile now, and even though I had to pay shipping, the prices were fantastic. I ordered several tankini tops in different styles and they all fit, I just liked the fit of some better than others. Their swim bottoms fit too. They ship from Arizona (USA).

If you need a new swimsuit (or 3), check them out. I was really happy with their super fast shipping as well as the quality, style and fit of the swimsuits, and wanted to pass it on for anyone else in the market. Happy shopping! 😉

    Thx, that's good to know😎!!

Thanks for that info.  roller is not relevant for me as I'm flying out to FLL  at the end of the month, their deliver date is late January, I'm going and the would be coming.  It's a new product so I don't know how effective or ineffective it is for $68.  Even in its collapsable state, it still takes up room.  With my roller,I can  stuff things inside, LOL.

When a product is new on the market and there is no stated ship out date just a by the end of the month/year ...what happens if they can't meet that date especially if you're away.   Thanks for the information.  I'll keep an eye out for it and test it out when I see it.

How was your cruise?  Is this an exercise class that you teach on land that joined you on this cruise? Love to hear how it all worked out.  Thx!

  10. I became Platinum our last cruise and when we met our room steward the first thing he said was "since you are platinum you will have morning and evening service".  Before I was platinum, we had both services. Maybe it's the luck of the draw on room stewards?

  11. The length of the cruise determines the number of Cruise Elegant evenings in the Dining Room. The first Cruise Elegant evening is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd day of the cruise; the second Cruise Elegant evening is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd day prior to the end of the cruise, schedules permitting.

    • 1 Day cruise: none
    • 2 Day to 5-day cruise: one Cruise Elegant evening
    • 6 Day or longer cruise: two Cruise Elegant evenings
    • Melbourne Cup cruise: one Cruise Elegant evening
    • From the Carnival website🙂

Not odd one bit in my opinion. As I commented here, when working I tried to remember what anyone in my office had worn the day before and I couldn't.  Lesson learned. Plus like you, if I've been out doing something I change into "lounge wear" when I get home. The pants and sweater (winter) are usually draped over my dressing table chair. I can't say for absolute sure but I think I've worn the same things at least the last three days and probably four. Why on earth not?

Hah! That's probably it.  I put my outfit on a chair next to my bed and so why not put it back on?! 😅

  13. When I cruise I plan my wardrobe with expanding size being a factor.  First day, slim fitting dress or skirt.  Second day, slim fitting pants with cute top. Third day, slightly more forgiving dress.....Last day, muu-muu. 😋 That way I'm still happy in cute clothes and staying comfortable. I know I'm going to eat and drink on vacation and taking the stairs on the cruise ship can only do so much.
