Island is reported to going into extended dry dock in 2024
we asked about this gap in schedule when we were onboard the Sapphire in January, as we are booked on the cruise prior to the gap and we’re wondering about a B2B. The future cruise rep was unable to find out from corporate why there was a gap, but she said it wasn’t dry dock as this was scheduled for September 2024. -

Was yours also a cruisetour with the visit to Machu Picchu being before the cruise starts or after it ends?
Our was a pre-cruise land tour. We only found out it was not happening after we had met the local rep on the day after we arrived in Lima.

@Kay.redmann the tour was as much about lining up the perfect shot, composition etc as it was about camera functions. I had a cheap point and shoot and learnt a lot. The guides were very good at helping everyone individually.

Has anyone received compensation
we were on the previous cruise that disembarked on Jan 4th. We too had a land tour to Machu Picchu cancelled by Princess. We have not had any compensation yet and like you have yet to know what we will receive. Onboard we were told it would be fcc, calling Princess we heard it will likely be a cheque but nobody was able to confirm anything.
please do post if you hear anything from Princess.

Look here
https://www.portsofstockholm.com/vessel-calls/
there is a tab for cruise ships, then use google maps, or similar, to find the actual location.

Buenos Aires for British guests
We were there in January this year. Stayed 3 days post cruise, walked round independently, ate locally, even wore my cap with a small Union Jack on the back. We had no issues at all being British. Only problem was not being able to speak Spanish, but we muddled by.- 1

I heard that the upcoming cruises are being released on Feb 28th for elites (1st March for all). Does anyone know what the actual itineraries are?

Great review, thoroughly enjoyed following along. Glad you had some time for “yourself”

We have the same shore excursion credit for a 2day Australian cruise with no port stops and no debark tours. I hope we can use the credit for something else!

Loved the window suites on the Grand. Full suite benefits and cheaper than club class!

We were on the Grand in May 2022, obstructed ocean view cabin - no night lights

We have just booked our first Azamara cruise in the beginning of 2024. Looking at the excursions, there are only a handful for each port and one port has none listed.
1. Are there usually only a few excursions to select from?
2. will more be posted nearer to the sail date (and if so, how far out)?
thanks

We always used the bc connector, you can get on straight from the cruise terminal, but you do need to book in advance.

We actually used Skywalkers at the top of the ship for viewing Antarctica. Comfy chairs, big windows, easy access out onto the deck for photos, then back in to warm up.
-
There are a mix of regular wooden chairs and wooden “steamer” chairs. In Antarctica they turned the “steamer” chairs sideways so they wouldn’t use up promenade space with passengers wanting to be out on the deck. It was about minus 1 centigrade.

We found the airport in Iceland a nightmare. Lots of North American flights arriving within minutes of each other, then waiting for connections to Europe leaving from the same gate (you get on a bus to the plane). The airport was too small for the number of passengers, you had to push (literally) to get anywhere and we swore we would never fly with them again. Mind you, this was back in 2015, hopefully they have improved since then.

We have just returned from Antarctica, the internet was pretty much none existent from elephant island south. We got a refund from princess as the internet was unusable in Antarctic waters.

Is the kids menu available for sea day lunches in the mdr or only in the evening?
