Island is reported to going into extended dry dock in  2024

we asked about this gap in schedule when we were onboard the Sapphire in January, as we are booked on the cruise prior to the gap and we’re wondering about a B2B.  The future cruise rep was unable to find out from corporate why there was a gap, but she said it wasn’t dry dock as this was scheduled for September 2024.

    Has anyone received compensation

we were on the previous cruise that disembarked on Jan 4th.  We too had a land tour to Machu Picchu cancelled by Princess.  We have not had any compensation yet and like you have yet to know what we will receive.  Onboard we were told it would be fcc, calling Princess we heard it will likely be a cheque but nobody was able to confirm anything.

please do post if you hear anything from Princess.

    Buenos Aires for British guests

We were there in January this year.  Stayed 3 days post cruise, walked round independently, ate locally, even wore my cap with a small Union Jack on the back.  We had no issues at all being British.  Only problem was not being able to speak Spanish, but we muddled by.

  4. We have just booked our first Azamara cruise in the beginning of 2024.  Looking at the excursions, there are only a handful for each port and one port has none listed.

    1. Are there usually only a few excursions to select from?

    2. will more be posted nearer to the sail date (and if so, how far out)?

    thanks

  5. There are a mix of regular wooden chairs and wooden “steamer” chairs.  In Antarctica they turned the “steamer” chairs sideways so they wouldn’t use up promenade space with passengers wanting to be out on the deck.  It was about minus 1 centigrade.

  6. We found the airport in Iceland a nightmare.  Lots of North American flights arriving within minutes of each other, then waiting for connections to Europe leaving from the same gate (you get on a bus to the plane).  The airport was too small for the number of passengers, you had to push (literally) to get anywhere and we swore we would never fly with them again.  Mind you, this was back in 2015, hopefully they have improved since then.
