  1. Sorry guys, my maths was a bit out. It should have only been about £6000 not £7000. P&O + Wallace & Gromit etc still get my vote.
  2. What's even better about Britannia is that I've just had an email from P&O informing me that 'Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep can’t wait to welcome you on board'. Whew!
  3. This post encouraged me to look further afield than P&O and in particular SAGA. I know the post revolves around suites but I am going on Britannia with my wife for two weeks in May this year in a standard balcony, at the select price, in a position chosen by me. I compared this cruise with an equivalent SAGA cruise at roughly the same time and route in their standard balcony, also in a similar position chosen by me. I readily accept that there are a lot of extras thrown in with SAGA, and the cruise would have had three extra ports, BUT the difference was, roughly, an eye watering £7000, which makes it about three times the cost of P&O!!! I'll stick with P&O for the time being.
  4. I tried it on Britannia last year but to get to a USB socket on the back of the TV you have to remove it from the wall first. I managed to get it off then found a warning on the back about connecting devices to the USB so I put it back on the wall with some difficulty and it didn't look right. Next time we returned to the cabin the TV appeared to be as it should be BUT, shortly after, our steward apologised to us and said that the TV must have been badly fitted as it fell off when he was cleaning and they had to fit a new one!! Keep well clear!!
  5. Far easier to allow the emails, then delete them, rather than cancel them all and miss the one that was really relevant.
  6. At a time when we are supposedly suffering a cost of living crisis, I am surprised at the, apparant, amount of people with loads of cash under their mattresses that could be earning at least 3% interest in a local building society.

  8. The Oriental Restaurant is the only fixed time dining room on Britannia.
  9. The Exchange - when footie's being shown!!
  10. They have worn well. That trademeark was dropped 23 years ago!
  11. Couldn't agree more. The last thing you want is P&O being aware that you've been testing yourself for Covid!!
  12. I don't know what you are reading but look at the wording below the picture between 'quaint old town' and 'there's much to see'.
  13. Most of the information you require is contained in 'My P&O Cruises' - https://my.pocruises.com/mycruise/login
  14. Why not ? We managed to get some extra vouchers from our steward and used them all!
  15. All occupants of a cabin have to have the same drinks package. Compulsory tipping was abolished on P&O several years ago.
  16. Just checked the website for this cruise again and as previously stated SPB has been removed from the itinerary map but look at the description given for this cruise : -
  17. I think what probably happened is that they had to change the web site listing as it originally showed a visit to SPB on the itinerary map. Having done that they then probably also changed the title to encourage sales. On 'My P&O Cruises' the map still shows a visit to SPB but the written itinerary does not. Who knows what's going to happen? Certainly not P&O!
  18. You can find it by searching for May 2023 cruises on Britannia but it's a bit worrying that Baltic doesn't appear in the search option. I noticed that the title for the cruise is now Northern Europe And Scandinavia, no mention of Baltic, so maybe they've changed it. According to My P&O Cruises it is entitled Baltic as it is on websites other than P&O.
