  1. I normally sail on Cunard but do some P &O a year Last year on Britannia I was impressed with the food and thought it as good as Cunard. I only eat simple British style food but found it hot, plentiful and always to my liking . Had lunch in MDR and buffet. To be honest only reason I didn’t eat lunch in MDR every day was as I needed to rein it in !! And not have 2x 3 course meals daily. I have never paid for a speciality restaurant as I refuse to pay extra when the included meal suits me fine. I was once persuaded to go with a friend to Epicurean afternoon Tea and 3 years on still wrangles what a waste of money it was . It was £15.50 and all I ate was a couple of cakes I could have got for free in the buffet or the included afternoon tea. Please do not look forward to your cruise I am sure it will be fine.
  2. I do too. I take a new plastic popper style A4 folder with me for each cruise and keep them all plus anything else useful. Like you it’s interesting to look back at them. Settled a family dispute once on the closing time for Golden Lion on a certain day on QE 🚢😂 by going and looking through an old folder.
  3. Noticed no difference in the food or menus whatsoever .The usual Britannia items that I have had across QV QE and QM2 appeared. Can’t remember noticing the difference in milk but I always order it hot for cereal and coffee so tastes different anyway.
  4. Glad you have had an enjoyable time on this crossing, but on other threads you talk about what you are looking forward to and what you will do on your up and coming crossing and ask questions about various aspects of being on QM2 so you don’t give the impression you have actually sailed yet ?
  5. You can’t fill your own water bottles direct from the machines in Kings Court. You would need to fill up glasses then pour the water into your bottle. There are notices reminding you of this and sometimes crew members on duty at the machines. I am not sure what you mean by an all inclusive vacation. To me that implies drinks are included which except for juices, tea and coffee in Kings Court, all other hot, cold, alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks are for purchase either pay as you go or via a drink package.
  6. It will be just as as a taster. The hour will expire and then you will have the option to purchase either daily or voyage plans.
  7. It’s only available in 24 hour slots @24$ a day. The 24 hours starts from when you purchase so can be used over 2 days if you purchase at the right time.
  8. I have never found the coffee cold in Kings Court.
  9. Definitely had the cake in 2023 but sounds like I was not charged for it. Remember seeing small boxes of miniatures to buy elsewhere. Think they even as some in the shop on P&O ‘s Britannia last year. I can see them in the shop but it’s definitely not a Cunard shop 😀
  10. Yes I can’t remember either. The mini round chocolate coke nearly defeats me. Never been a big fan of macarons anyway .
  11. Last trip was May 2024 then before that November September August and May 2023 and 2022 Definitely had the chocolate cake in August as have a photo 🥮🧁Obviously didn’t check the receipt carefully as probably not charged for it.Other occasions wasn’t my card being charged.😂
  12. I use apple devices and they don’t come with a plug anymore.
  13. I am with Pushpit. I would much prefer more crossings a year than one P G or QG. Unlike Pushpit I have booked insides and been fine especially on 7 nights or less. Nothing better then a sheltered balcony on a T A especially when the decks are closed because of high winds.
  14. The lunches are good in Britannia and in the Golden Lion. Carinthia serves light lunches too.
  15. They were not free the last time I had the fabulous chocolate cake.
  16. Not the last time I was onboard they were not included and there were no sandwiches. The cakes ranged from 5$ upwards. Are you thinking of another venue , Carathia lounge has free pastries , hors d’oeuvres and sandwiches.
  17. Never seen people carrying food about from venue to venue across all 3 Queens on all types of cruises.
  18. Would never have occurred to me to take anything away it’s a not a take way. That’s why the cakes are served on china plates with appropriate cutlery. I love the cakes there.
  19. Yes all cakes and pastries there are extra charge
  20. You can’t just mix and match. They shut the doors after a while if you are late for early seating it’s not fair on the late dining folk if their table is not ready at the start of their dining time. I presume you could try and be accommodated in the freedom area but you may have to wait.
  21. So refreshing to read such a positive and enjoyable review.
  22. I have always used OBC towards gratuities if I have had any OBC left after paying balance of WiFi and drinks and other expenses.
  23. That then deprives the crew of their extra money.
  24. Can’t be used for any medical bills either.
  25. I remember being on the Isle of Wight ferry once crossing back to Southampton as several ships were leaving. Couple next to me were talking to another couple next to them and telling them the nearest ship was Britannia and were giving it large. Given my son in law and daughter were onboard Britannia in the Caribbean at the time it did make me laugh to myself.
