  1. I think the best advice is to read the T &Cs beforehand for any avoidance of doubt as to what the deal and outcome could be.
  2. That is my understanding too which is why it is so important to read the relevant T&Cs
  3. I am not in the know and have to take my turn with everyone else and with what ever slots are available even if it means having about to hang about to try and book one for a later time.
  4. Don’t know if it’s the same as other ships but I have never had much luck as a walk in. There has always been a queue of people waiting the only times I have sneaked in was when they were expecting me back having had a pre booked appointment earlier. They may let you book but as you have said time is running out.
  5. I had it on QM2 last week several times.
  6. I would count that as a win to avoid a cabin with a connecting door to be honest.
  7. Plusgrade is a third party who handle all the bids for upgrades. All upgrades are now outsourced to this company who will invite you to bid on upgraded accommodation. If successful you still pay Cunard or your T A but only have a limited time to do so. Upgrade acceptance T and C s are different if you are UK or North American based. It’s best to read them first to check the scheme is suitable for you.
  8. I think this was the plan all along to do something different which is fully in keeping with what they want to achieve with Queen Anne
  9. You are correct but having COVID is not currently grounds to do this. You are not required to seek medical treatment or be forced to stay in the medical centre or your cabin if you have COVID.
  10. They have no grounds to detain them under current health protocols. If you take a cruise sadly you take the risk of potentially catching something which is freely circulating in the community. I was on Queen Mary last week, I am sure there would have been people onboard with COVID but it was my choice to travel in a lift, visit a crowded venue etc.. If I had caught it I would in no way blame Cunard. I am travelling to London tomorrow my choice and risk again.
  11. My money is on Princess Anne .
  12. I thought she was the Madrina so is probably there out of courtesy, like Maureen Ryan was previously.
  13. There is no Public Health requirement to isolate if you test positive for Covid so unfortunately whatever you think about it their hands were tied. You can’t confine someone to their cabin if they are not actually breeching any policies sadly nor force them to seek medical treatment. Sadly being rude, obnoxious and selfish is not a reason to force someone to stay in there cabin. They can request they do. It depends at the end of the day if the Captain thought their behavior was awful enough to warrant being disembarked but unfortunately with today’s policies regarding Covid that route is not an option. Sadly there must be many folk going around with Covid infecting all and sundry.
  14. You can only drink the drinks you bring onboard in your own cabin. The soft drinks package is very reasonable if you like many during the day. Remember too that both people in the cabin have to have the same package so you can’t mix and match.
  15. Yes could be I hadn’t really noticed in November but yes probably it’s because it’s a voyage in its own right. Because my return T A last summer had a 14 night crossing reference I only got 1 allowance and 1 card.
  16. I’ve just looked back it was the same on the 3 nighter in November on QM2
  17. Yes it was just 1 device whole voyage Essential package.
  18. I’ve posted a summary on my recent QM2 experience on the QM2 Itinerary Change thread
  19. So back from this 3 nighter. I had an enjoyable time in spite of the drastically changed itinerary with less than 24 hours notice. Cherbourg was very pleasant and I enjoyed wandering around and even managed to pick up some goodies from Carrefour. There were no shuttles but everywhere was nearby. Some folk saw the Olympic flame but I was off too late for that. Weymouth was also a delight reliving childhood memories. There was a folk festival taking place so many interesting stalls to look at on the way to the Town Centre and Beach. QM2 just looked the same as she did after her dry dock but I did notice some new extra chairs around the pool on deck 8 and 7. The chairs with cushions and a padded foot stool were a comfortable and had a small table to match. There were also new sun loungers. The good old wooden ones with the padded cushions were still there as were the steamers around deck 7. The one negative was the service in Britannia was very slow. They were prompt at taking your order but the wait for the food to arrive was longer than I have ever experienced before. The food when it arrived was always hot so not as if it had been hanging around. The waiters were pleasant enough but just seemed lost. Some of their English wasn’t that good either. I always have a table on my own and usually in the past my food has been ordered and arrived on my own time scale.Last summer I could reckon on being finished by 9 40 at the latest. This time I just about made it to the shows and retuning back to my cabin just gone 11 you could see people still there. It seemed to be that everyone was being served their same course at the same time so I was waiting for the tables around me to finish whatever they were having which has never happened before. Another twist was that the breakfast in Britannia as it was a short cruise was the express menu version with no poached eggs, Eggs Benedict or avocado toast. That was disappointing and different since November. There were obviously a lot of first timers onboard as there were red cards everywhere. There were lots of groups as is expected and quite a lot of children as it was the end of half term. I thought the atmosphere was very pleasant and it was lovely to see people obviously enjoying themselves. Queues buying the drinks packages were busy so no shortages of takers it seems. I don’t frequent the bars except Golden Lion to eat so can make no comment on the service in the bars. I have to say on embarkation day in the Golden Lion, it was slow and that was around 1 with not many folk about. Embarkation was quick and slick and was in my cabin before 1. There were queues outside as they were checking arrival times and asking some to wait outside. Disembarkation was easy I had 9 40 and there was only a small amount of luggage left in the hall when I got there. I kept away earlier so no idea if it was congested or chaotic. All in all a very pleasant enjoyable 3 nights. It will be interesting to see in September if there any improvements with the speed of the service in Britannia. The WiFi was brilliant but interestingly instead of your normal Diamond or Platinum allowance you just had enough to cover the basic one device whole voyage package - 54$ and to be fair they did state that in the daily programme.
  20. Your bargain basement trip seems to be turning out anything but. Glad to read what a fun day you had and enjoyed the photos. Looking forward to today’s update.
  21. Perhaps they don’t have enough luggage to justify the expense of hiring a warehouse so use this address as an alternative. Probably safer than a warehouse on a trading estate.
