OMG Line dance class in Two70. I made it through 3 songs, now sweating in a chair with a view of port. Still in cloudy Sitka.

You go girl! My email has been very quiet this afternoon. I went to your posts and Megans’s and realized I’m not getting CC notifications of new posts. EDIT! So after posting this I saw something at the bottom about Alert verifying my email addr. I did. It was correct and now aim getting notifications again….

We came over the bridge to see four ships in port today. MSC Seascape (I believe), Symphony of the Seas, another one I couldn’t tell and Mardi Gras. I say “we” loosely because Briley isn’t seeing much.

I think it’s the MSc seashore. We got off it in Port Canaveral on 5/12. Are there any launches planned while you are in view? The one we hoped to see was scratched.I found the schedule. Next one scheduled for 5/25/at 3:09 pm.

  3. We just did the opposite. In the past we only cruised NCL and in the haven if we could afford it. On May 12 we got off the MSC Seashore being in the yacht club for the first time. I doubt we will cruise on NCL again. We found the Yacht club to be superior in every way. Plus it was less than half of what we’ve paid in the past on NCL. Thanks for your fair review.

  4. We were on the seashore last week in the YC. It was phenomenal. We are seniors so would have a different experience than you.  The chef came out during every meal service greeting guests and asking if all was ok. The food was delicious. the filet which is always on the menu for dinner was the best we’ve ever had. We loved the top sail lounge with the best homemade potato chips always available.there were also many other sweets available too.  On a sea day we had high tea in the lounge which would be a different experience for the kids. Our butler Emmanuel and jr butler Jayesh were always available and were continually asking if they could get us anything.there were plenty of loungers and cabanas available on 20 and the buffet was very good which served breakfast and lunch. I think they served appetizers in the evening until 8 but we never went up there.  We never went in the pool or hot tub but I never saw them overcrowded. We really enjoyed the shows each night in the theater. You have reserved seating until just before 7:30. Just show your wrist band and walk in. We had great pizza delivered to the room and also went to the buffet on 16 to get the pizza late in the evening. Be sure to get the round pizza. It’s at a station with pasta. We didn’t do this but if you put your wrist band under the elevator control supposedly it gets YC guests faster service. Be sure to repeat your floor for each guest. You’d do it 4 times.  I hope you enjoy the seascape as much as we loved the seashore.

You wouldn't believe it but we set up a couple of cameras to check on our one cat at home during the cruise.  She is a feral cat and the love of our lives.  When we first adopted her and went on a cruise she was almost dead when we returned,  Vet said she was depressed and stopped eating and drinking .  So we make sure to observe her now, plus my brother sees her every day.  We love our fir babies!

My DIL and grandson stayed at our house last cruise. Mickey slept on my DIL’s back each night. He doesn’t do that with me. It’s like he was thinking you aren’t getting away while I’m asleep. He loves both of them.when we got home he is very vocal until the next morning.I wish I knew what he was telling me but he sounds bitchy so I assume he’s chewing me out.

Uno mas. My sister is gonna download the app and we are auditioning for Amazing race. This season was great because I had literally been to every destination. I would LOVE to get a heavy Asia & Australia season because I haven’t been there at all. Orrrr Nordic.

I don’t know why but I quit watching a couple seasons ago. Maybe reality tv fatigue. But if you get on I will watch again. You’d be perfect for this!

There are two things I almost always enjoy on a cruise: Bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon, and eggs Benedict.

In fact those are both very characteristic of my problem. Highly processed white bread topped with concentrated umami, salty, animal proteins. On this cruise we’ll also have the Kummelweck sandwich that was so memorable on Oasis six years ago. Similar concept really.

And on the other end, I sure love a nice cheesecake or brown sugar based soft cookie. Seeing the pattern?

In the past cruises have been excuses to indulge even more than usual and honestly I always feel like garbage onboard as a result. I often wonder how crew stay so slim and it’s obviously because enough is actually enough and they couldn’t perform their duties if they abused their health like I do.

Away from the stress and routine of my daily life, I am really hoping to kickstart a personal wellness campaign this week.

    Wish me luck!

I too am a chronic over eater. As you know I just got off MSC seashore. I didn’t gain any weight on this cruise. How????Before leaving  I found out I have a genetic defect where I can’t process folic acid. Which is in every white enriched flour and pasta in the USA. And most processed foods. So I didn’t eat anything that may have white flour in it. I did talk to the chef when I got on board and he confirmed they use enriched flour. I still had plenty to eat and drink. It’s amazing what you can skip when you have this in your head. MSC is known for their pizzas.i was so disappointed when I found out they used enriched flour. The chef made me a gluten free which was as good as any pizza I’ve had.I ordered a cheesecake and didn’t eat the crust.I had ice cream. I did have a piece of whole wheat toast with breakfast. It may be an approach that works for you. Whatever you do enjoy this cruise!!!

So I am not going to get too far into it prior to embarking, but in addition to my job reorganization and its stress, I am also dealing with a significant unforeseen personal family issue. Significant enough to outweigh the stress of reapplying and interviewing without a guarantee of staying employed.

I’m still grappling with how much to share as it will 100% impact this trip.

If a crystal ball would have told me about all of it, there’s no way I would have scheduled this trip for May, 2024. Full stop.

Yet here we are, heading right into it regardless.

I’m so glad I got home in time for this! We got off MSC seashore yesterday.

@LincolnLegend my horses are just not right in their heads, i swear....they all have access to stalls/run in sheds, but do you think they utilize them during storms? Nope, they would rather stand out in the pouring rain/wind/etc. If we do put them in the stalls and shut them in they absolutely hate it and pace and whinny. So, we just let them make their choice.

@TxTeach79 I really, really hope they don't name a new ship Fantasy. I mean, the original Fantasy is just retired! Ok, sure, its been a few years, but still....it's too recent. And I really wish they would come up with fresh new names for the new ships instead of recycling names.

    @sid_9169 Yay for the 10:30-11 and A03!

@Mommapadraighow are you liking Seashore? I sail on her in September for my 2nd MSC cruise, and hubby's first. I am hoping it's as awesome as my Seaside experience was last year. We will be in YC as well.

Absolutely love it. By far the best cruise we’ve ever experienced. Im currently sitting at the bar in the top sail lounge with an expresso martini eating their wonderful homemade potato chips. Tomorrow is Cozumel. We may stay on board

  10. Good morning. I may never catch up. We are currently on MSC Seashore. We booked in the yacht club for 1/3 the price for the Haven and it is far superior. We were ncl people but not anymore. Yesterday was Montego Bay. We 4 seniors booked the 420 farm tour through Lola’s.  Now that was enlightening. We first had a very informative tour of Montego bay. Then we went to the farm. They first handed everyone a large joint who wanted it. After touring the farm we went back to a pot/ bird sanctuary. They brought out huge pipes called chalices ( water pipes to us)  which they filled with pot from the farm. There was one young couple that took one for the team and smoked nonstop for an hour. I have no idea how they even walked out of there. It was a great tour. Today is a rum tour in Georgetown.

  11. I wanted to tell you about my gluten free experience on the seashore. I do not have celiac disease but have to avoid folic acid which is in enriched flour in the USA. I was hoping MSC didn’t use enriched flour. I asked the chef about it and he said yes our pizza crust is made with enriched flour but would a gluten free crust be ok for you? He made me the gluten free pizza today and it is absolutely delicious. I continue to be blown away by the service in MSC yacht club.

We have a 2br, 2ba for this TA.

DH is using full second br as dressing room, bath, closet while I use master closet and primary bath.

Second BR goes unused except for pass through though butler does vacuum etc

For 15 nights it’s been nice to have 2 baths and the extra closets on a cold weather sailing

When we were in the haven we also had the 2 bedroom and used it exactly the same way. We are currently on the msc seashore in the yacht club and am very impressed. I love the ship. There is music everywhere! The food in the YC restaurant has been outstanding. Our butler and junior butler cant do enough for us. This is day 3 and unless something drastically changes we will be YC in the future.

P.S. I posted this before, but it's so good I felt I should post this again.

We didn't know how good was MSC Yacht Club until we tried some other cruise lines. Reminds me of a quote. "We traveled among unknown men, in (ships) beyond the sea; nor (MSC )! did we know til now what love we bore to thee." Wordsworth

Its like Churchill's description of democracy, " the others are so much worse."

We are currently on the seashore. It is fantastic.our butler and junior butler can not do enough for us. On the first morning I drank 2 cups of English tea in the room. When coming back from breakfast I saw them and mentioned I need more. They said we already took care of it after we saw you had drank it. I went in the cabin and there was a plate full of English tea bags on the counter.

    Thank you so much @Mommapadraig

You doubt every decision and every moment when you’re in the thick of it, even the most obvious and logical ones, so the encouragement is a real lifeline for me right now.

When my divorce was final my sister said Thank God that’s over. We watched you walk around on egg shells for years and hated it. People who love you know and will support you 100 percent.

  16. @KmomChicago. It is like a horrible TV movie. I’m so sorry that you have to be part of it. He is very lucky to have the support from his employer. I just hope he sobers up enough to realize this is his last chance with them. I’m very glad to read you have made an appointment with an attorney. You’ve spent a  Lot of your life protecting him. Now protect yourself. I wish you the best and enjoy that cruise!

So...we already have Taco Tuesday...can we have a Wiener Wednesday?

I’m sorry. Wednesday is already taken. It’s Margarita Wednesday.our favorite Mexican restaurant has 1/2 price Margaritas all day. 11.00 for a huge pitcher. I know the lettering is off but they don’t have half price Margaritas on Monday.

We are Haven cruisers trying the YC for the first time in September. What drove us to try the YC was several things:

1 An actual pool deck. Most Havens have a very small pool in the courtyard area. You do have the upper sun deck with hot tubs, but doesnt feel the same.

2 The YC grill poolside. Love this option for quick brekfast and lunches.

3 Live entertainment in the YC lounge at night. Most Haven lounges does not offer this.

4 Changing YC Menu. Not saying we dont love the Haven Menu, but will be fun to see different options every night.

5 PRICE! So, Wife and I are rarely in the cabin, so being able to snag a YC interior suite with the same access to the YC for all in $3200 plus $200 onboard credit was a no brainer. Now, this does mean that I will need to venture outside on the morning to enjoy arriving into each port but honestly doesnt bother me.

We are switching for the same reasons. The haven prices have gotten insane. We were booked in the haven for our anniversary next year and got a cheaper 10 day cruise on the Explora ll.
