  1. Heard people maybe 3 or 4 times on a 16 night cruise. Always mornings. Agree we never found the door locked.
  2. Thanks. Know what you meant. You just need to bring magnets. Magnetic doors would, however, be interesting. Especially if you had a pacemaker!
  3. Can answer part if your questions as had this "experience " last year. If you want traditional you obviously need to book. If you want to reserve you make your booking one night at a time with availability for reserving limited. Again if anytime- no reservations. Will be interesting to see how dining rooms are assigned. Will find that out in June. On our cruise there was more demand for fixed seating than seats for the early seating. They moved some of those people to the reservation dining room. I note making reservations was chaotic, but smoothed out by day 3 (16 day cruise). There was lots of seating available after 8pm. Port days had lots of no shows for fixed dining and walk upstairs for anytime.
  4. Happy for you. We were always told only Australia or UK cruises.
  5. Again, new system going into effect in September. One MDR fixed seating - early/late. One MDR varied reservations. One MDR walk up only. Need to read the thread as many reservations are cancelled with limits as to when new reservations allowed.
  6. When I was younger was locked out on our Veranda. Climbed over the railing and around the divider and knocked next door. Would not attempt that today.
  7. Make sure of the restrictions. . all of them. A while back the speed was throttled, data limited etc. No idea today.
  8. 5 threads this week. Solutions from those more tech savvy than me. Clear browsing history and cache Change password Uninstaller and reinstall app. If I CAN sign in I wonder if I am on the wrong website.
  9. Yes. We simply don't bother till on board. The app is deeadful
  10. DW mentioned always checking the receipt at the grocery store before leaving. Over half the time there is an error. Sadly need to check things everywhere all the time.
  11. Wine is in the taste buds of the drinker. Have had blind tastings with $5 wine and $30 a glass wine and a carefully chosen $5 wine often won. On board the issues are where are you cruising as wines vary. You certainly are safe with midrange California varietals. Generally available. Sauvignon Blancs are more hit and miss. I'm a zinfandel lover. Never had much luck. Good news is to try some covered with your package and if not to your taste. . pour it out.
  12. If you cruise heading West you pick up.an hour for each time zone. 25 hour days easier than 23.
  13. Hawaii is part of the USA. Thus they will not need WIFI in Hawaii. Simply make a call with their cellphone for free. If they are not from the US they can get WIFI nearby every Hawaiian port.
  14. Watched for a few seconds. Then closed the page. Problem solved.
  15. Same answer for the Red Sea, St Petersburg Russia, and lots of other places. Unless peace breaks out you won't be cruising to anyplace near there. For predicting the future what do you use? I use an old Magic 8 Ball. Usually says ask later.
  16. Actually if you are caught with gummies with THC you will be removed from the ship. Have seen it happen twice. There are sometimes dogs to sniff out drugs. A definite no for me as the penalty could be really harsh.
  17. Last cruises were out of Amsterdam. You could count the tuxedos using your fingers. That said people looked like they were going out to a nice restaurant. On a British Isles cruise I will bring a sports coat simply to stay warm.
  18. Did you read all my post? Things with the airlines are very different today. Long long ago I worked for Western Airlines. Back then far fewer planes operated with regulated fares and arrived and departed about 98% on time. Today customer service seems dead or dying. All I can share is in December friends with EZAir were flying to LA for a Panama Canal cruise from LHR. Scheduled to arrive a day ahead. Bad weather and Princess assured them they would meet their flight at LAX. Oops. They got themselves to San Pedro and watched their ship sail away. Some 12 hours later they finally were Scheduled to.meet their ship. Sadly not using a non stop to Cabo in Mexico, but a hotel followed by a flight to Mexico City followed by another flight in Mexico, motel, 8 hour local bus ride, 2 more nights in Costa Rica and them the ship. The problems, nobody knowing airports nearest the ports and for Sunday morning nobody answering the phones for EZAir! They described their journey as frightening. Once on board as interesting. Am sure you have found similar horror stories caused by consolidator issues. 98%+ of the time all is good. The rest . . .
  19. There are literally hundreds of threads on this. Flying in even from North America to say Florida the day of your cruise is not smart. EZAir can be great as Chrysalis said for deals on International fares. Usually similar or same fare within North America. Any advice meaningless as you have not said where you are flying. EZAir vs having control over your flights? You need to decide. If the same fare - book direct. For a few $$ in savings I would book direct. Overseas, I check with my business class consolidator TRAVEL AGENT and compare. My TA is usually about the same price and being able to call them 24/7 is worth a lot to me, but as a former TA easier to compare for me. All I can say is Google business class travel.agents, fly in 1or 2 days early and make absolutely positively sure you understand the restrictions-ALL OF THEM - on any ticket you purchase Looking at your update - if a US carrier, simply fly in a day ahead. Canadian carrier - absolutely best to book direct.
  20. I just get mine at the pier. Spend zero time tracking it, worrying about $20 etc. Took mean extra 30 seconds to pick up.at the pier. Agree, if lots of others did the same there would be a long line to pick up.
  21. We have great fun using the deck plabs to explore on each ship that is new to us.
  22. Sort of. It works only if the other person happens to see the dot.
  23. We always keep a carry-on and a canvas tote bag with a couple pieces of clean clothing, valuables, documents etc to carry off. Not really hard to have a blouse/politics and long pants/chinos/jeans to wear the final night. Similar on my flight home.
