  1. Use the website Cruise Compete. They are not a travel agent, but can provide you several possibilities. Not hard to then do a Google check on a few. Definitely worth it for what has worked out to be a 5-8% saving on every cruise as group space (rarely suites) us often available. Then you can CALL a couple.
  2. Agree. Makes no difference when cancelled. We have not even bothered to look. June 17th works for us to rebook.
  3. Completely agree. My TA lives in Ohio and grew up in the South. Spending hours dealing with the medallion? Do not understand playing Don Quixote trying to get it compared to a wait of usually a minute or two and doomsday scenario of 30 minutes. Same with dinner reservations.
  4. Think you missed my point. Yes, a disabled person can disclose their disability and certainly any needs. But you suggested Princess query those with rooms for those with special needs. As said, Princess cannot ask anything. Anyone can book (unfortunately) an ADA room and is not required to state any reason for their booking. Similarly my DW carries a case with "medical" supplies. A cruiseline (or an airline cannot inspect except a scan for weapons. Princess can ask about the services the dog provides as dogs are not normally on board. If I do not require and special services/allowances (I do for diet only and a trekking pole) They can ask only about why I require an otherwise banned or questionable item. PS I book regular cabins
  5. Certainly agree. But, how would Princess know about the specific needs of passengers in accessible cabins? Last I knew the ADA banned inquiry of needs. Those with disabilities can volunteer and ask for assistance, but not required to so.
  6. Do understand that the points you earn depend on your fare class code. A consolidator fare will likely earn very few points. Our last flight 25% of a regular coach ticket.
  7. Once onboard in Vancouver you really cannot reasonably get off and back on the ship because of customs. See the city in a couple days pre or post cruise.
  8. Couple of thoughts. Customer service in general is somewhere between poor and terrible. No excuses for Princess, but wondering why you would bother dealing with Princess on the phone as there are lots of great TAs out there that will handle the garbage for you. One web site with help you by having TAs Compete for your Cruise business. The other is if you get an agent that clearly needs training . . Three steps. #1 Say thank you, goodbye #2 Hang up #3 Call and get another agent. As for medallions - why are you wasting time trying to order? Faster topick up at the port. For 3 cruises total added time under 5 minutes. Bet you wasted more time trying to order As for dining - if you cruise us after September 14th you need to wait till June 17th. Again, unless you need to eat at 6pm, go directly on boarding and organize. Lots easier than needing to link your reservations. A group is almost impossible on the app. Maybe worse on the phone. Easy on board.
  9. Really doesn't matter if cancelled today. At some point- probably in early June- they will disappear. Then you can rebook after new guidelines.
  10. You will need to wait and see what happens. Will certainly vary.
  11. Booking very early with a fixed fare and later payment is the main benefit of consolidator fares. What is difficult is the airlines often change flights and the consolidators depending on the airline cannot choose what flight to move your reservation. Consolidator fares have limited flight choice. As to fares, try this. . . . do a mock economy booking on a route starting at a smaller airport. Then do it again several times. The fare will move up. Then try the next day. The fare will reset. If seats are very limited the change can be extreme.
  12. Note if you shop a flight the next person gets a higher fare from the computer and if there is another inquiry in the next hour a fare moves up again. Takes a couple hours to move the price back down. Talk to a person and definitely check out the airlines direct.
  13. Ken. Being that Reykjavik has about 80 taxis and comparing it with Uber is Seattle is a bit unrealistic. You can schedule an Uber and there are hundreds in Seattle. No Uber in Reykjavik.
  14. Have booked connecting cabins for teens several times. Lots easier than sorting out the Medallions that have a cabin and photo attached. Just ask and book early so there is availability. To get it to reasonably work on board you would need to switch medallions for one teen and one adult. Then the one adult could not order anything in the plus package. Neither could the teen as the photo would not match. A real.pain Your CVP at Princess or your TA can handle this.
  15. To see what the Plus and Premier packages include Google the packages. The details of what each purchaser receives is clearly (to me) detailed.
  16. The early booking date for EZAir of 330 days is the same for airlines booked direct. Many airlines open flights once a week. Pricing historically is a bit cheaper a couple weeks after opening except for holiday weeks as there are lots of placeholder bookings with refundable fares. EZAir can be great. Just fully understand the rules for your ticket like voluntary change fees, seats, and what happens if your flights are canceled
  17. I certainly agree that ALL cruiselines charge premiums that are often double. The Fly Over tour last year had multiple variations at prices from $25 to almost $100. The big issue for tours in Iceland is transportation. A short taxi ride can be $50 with wait times of 1 hour or more. So that needs to be factored in any comparison. Iceland has the problem of being completely overwhelmed by tourism. Having several million tourists visit an island with under 400K people is making for challenges. Both locals and tourists.
  18. There are several websites (several are TA sites) that provide cabin details of extra people/connecting etc. An internet search will give you access.
  19. They actually are pretty neat. Hope the OP can do a Google search on them.
  20. We have booked connecting a cabin for our teens, as well as, a cabin directly across the hallway. Adults in one cabin and teens in the other. We had a drink package. Grandchildren did not.
  21. Are you saying you tapped your card or using RFID you showed it to them from a short distance/had it read in your pocket. Swiped simply means read/tapped or ?? to most.
  22. Good choice. Would go with Exploration journeys Signing contracts in Argentina is tough with inflation that can be over 100% in a single month!
  23. If you found your cruise just wondering why you would not either call Princess and use a CVP or find a TA who would give you a few hundred in OBC, a group fare that is a few hundred less than the fare on line or both?
