    Show times are 8pm & 10.15pm

7pm and 9pm are Far too early for Cunard dining

Can I ask why are these dining times too early?

I just booked Queen Elizabeth, and chose Early Dining (6p-9m).

I was hoping to eat before a show. Do Cunard cruisers eat late?

I don't always agree with Ben and David, but I enjoy watching their videos because they genuinely seem to be enjoying themselves. There are some cruise-tubers who seem to hate cruising. Never a smile and nary a spark of joy. We may not like the same things, but with Ben and David there's no doubt that they are having fun.

I do like them, but it seems they have become too cosy with the cruise lines. I really wonder when was the last time they actually paid for a cruise.

  3. I really was actually looking at these cruises (Seaside specifically), but I didn't like the size of the ships.

Waaay too big for me. With Europa at 4000 and MSC Seaview at 5200 passenger capacity. NO WAY!

Plus, they are family ships! I really don't want to be on cruise ships with kids and teenagers. (My last cruise on NCL Bliss, Jan 2022, had only 6 kids and 1300 adults!)

    Good luck!!

I didn't think we needed any particular flights since I didn't see any bad ones. However, I am a little worried that they will not get us to our destination one day before boarding. Has anyone ever experienced Regent not booking air to a destination in time to use the included hotel?

Does anyone experienced with Regent have an answer to this? This is what I was concerned about. What happens if the flight brings me in too late?

All passengers, regardless of age, are charged gratuities. As it should be.

This is stupid. They should just pay a fair salary, since what proof do you have that they actually get those tips; given how the service is on these ships. My last two cruises I encountered many crew who did not even deserve the job they had, despite my prepaid tips.

    Oh, well...

  6. I thought you were speaking of Navigator when you mentioned the "wear and tear" in the Suite, the service, and even the food being warm.

Splendor is a new ship, still.

Sigh... Wow, this really makes me re-think my upcoming three week Transatlantic this November.

Not to seem braggery, but I did book a Penthouse; do you think my experience will be "better"? I have learned that all cruise lines love treated people who pay more much better than those that don't.

But Regent is VERY expensive all around, so I assumed that all guests treated the same and get the same service regardless of what Suite they booked.

    Sigh..hmmmm

Plenty of F2 cabins available in better locations, so why a Cat B?  You will have same chances of getting excursions as you are within 240 days even if you are not Silver.

For me, a Penthouse B was all that was available at the time I booked it in 2021.

I choose Concierge and above for the Pre-night Hotel stay. I know that you could book your own hotel and arrange your own ship transfers, but I didn't want that hassle, even though, yes it could save me $$$$. As for location, I have 606 on the Port side, and I don't think it'll bother be. We'll see.

We are looking at the Splendor August 31 cruise Reykjavik to Copenhagen.  There are only  2 penthouse cabins available….. 653 and 657.

It appears that they are both over the ship tenders and 657 is also near the elevators.  I am concerned about this location.

    Any opinions?

    Thanks.

One of the main reasons I booked Regent was not worrying about chairhog nonsense… I (incorrectly) assumed that there would be enough chairs for everyone…🤦‍♂️

This is what I assumed as well. That these ships were too expensive and therefore would never be fully loaded. If they were, it was mostly with the elderly who don't hang out at the pool.

But it seems a lot of millenials and GenZers are getting onboard with their Bitcoin & NFT fortunes 🤑 and whatnot. Oh, well...that's why I booked a Suite with a large enough balcony, but I want to be on the pool deck. Hopefully, on my sailing there won't be as many people - it's a 21 day, and I've learned from my last 14 days on NCL Bliss that long haul sails don't usually have a full passenger load due the cruise length. And that cruise was the FIRST time I was ever on the pool deck of any cruise I'd been on, with the others being so crowded.

But I did hear that medium and large Groups are booking Regent now, so...that could change.

It'll be  interesting to see what the lounger situation looks like while crossing the Atlantic.

simply could not consider to book it as a single at 100 % single sup

So this statements impies you did not book the cruise with Regent, right?

From my experience, and I haven't sailed yet, but if you book early (like a year or more in advance), you don't end up paying 100% single supplement, if the cruise has a special singles rate. The lowest I've seen is 25%; my current booking the single supplement was about 44.5%  (because it's a long sailing).

To get in the shower, you had to step over a tub side that was at least 2 feet high, which when the ship was seriously rocking was dangerous.

I read a lot of reviews about the tub rim being too high.

I have always wondered: rather than stepping into the tube, one should sit on the rim, swing their feet over the top, then lower themselves into the tub.

This is what I have read is the preferred way for getting into tubs with high rims.

  11. I have always assumed that the food was consciously prepared with the much older passengers (70+ years and older) in mind, given that their pallets are likely to be "more sensitive" than younger cruisers (60 and younger).

This is what I've always thought, anyway; as your dining experience is consistent with every review I have read. Older cruisers have wonderful things to say about the food preparation; younger cruisers, very much the opposite.

All of the Aqua Class Cabins are on Deck 11. Right beneath Deck 12 which is a heavy activity deck. I booked a Balcony Cabin due to this factor. For those that have traveled in the Aqua Class Cabins Is there a lot of disturbance due to being right below deck 12? 😟

    Info appreciated.

On my last AquaClass sailing I was in 1135, at the back and I experienced only motion and rocking that would be typical on a higher deck. But I never heard any noise from below or around the halls, since that part of ship was a "bit" excluded.

Also, as I was in the very back, and was subjected to any noise from the Terrace or the movie screen. In fact, I was above the Oceanview Bar and it was still relatively quiet.

However,  this was in December 2019 on Infinity, so I will take a for granted that other ships will have a very different AquaClass experience on Deck 11.

  13. Just an excuse to raise prices and nickel  more dimes with extra charges, with reduced services. 😕 Or so I read that they were adjusting the dining optiond to encourage more Specialty dining. Didn't they also reduce the drink packages for Prima as well?

At the time, 46. There weren’t really any teens on our sailing. It’s odd to me that they would limit quasar to teens when there’s a huge bar in there. Maybe they changed the purpose of Quasar since I was last on solstice which was 2016. We were on equinox in 2019, and it was the same way. An adult bar.

Ok Is this Quasar? On my sailing in June/July 2019 I only saw teens hanging out there:

We had quite a fun night in Quasar, the on ship disco.

    How old were you?

It was my understanding that Quasar was for teens only?

My 1st time on CxC was on Equinox in 2019, and because it was a port intensive cruise, I didn't get to spend too much time on the ship except for 2 sea days. I loved the Hot Glass class! But I realized real quick during a atrium dance party that the ship was gay friendly.

I was upset to learn that adults are forbidden in the video arcade and basketball courts. The basketball courts!!?? 😠

Considering another Celebrity cruise (just wish they had more fun stuff).

Lux cruise lines (and lux accommodations in premium lines) are having supply and labor shortage problems like all of us onshore are having. This is unfortunate, as this is not reflected in the fares for us.  I recently read a post about a couple who had a penthouse suite on Regent that is soon to sail, saying that due to the labor shortage a butler could not be provided ( as usual with that booking). They were offered $1000 OBC pp instead. Sounds good? Well, on Regent with most things included, it is really hard to spend $1000 pp on board credit. And the OBC is not refundable if not all spent at cruise end. And with the problem of airline unreliability that exists now, we will just stay out until many things improve.

I'd used it to buy a glass of Luis XII, if it was allowed. Or a nice watch or fancy booze.

There's also a real difference between fresh and frozen lobster. One of the things that distinguishes luxury cruise lines from mass market lines is they often serve fresh lobster.

I used to dislike lobster, basically the same reasons or you could add in "buttered rubber," so I get it.

Trust me, as a picky eater, don't give up, blame the line cook. Bland and mushy means undercooked and rubbery is overcooked. Like a really nice fatty cod, when properly cooked it really is soft and smooth like butter, not mushy or firm.

Your tongue will know right away.

    Don't give up

I want to love lobster, because I used to be able to eat shrimp by the bucket, and I used to LOVE shrimp! But something happened to my body after 17 and now I just get sick eating shrimp.

I am aware about the two types of lobster, so it seems I only had the mushy kind. Except when I had a lobster penne, which was very good. I think if I can get that fat meaty lobster with thick meat I'll be great with it. I'll keep trying...but cavier...NO!! YUK! 🤮😝
