We did that cruise a couple years ago but were in the new locks. That transit didn’t look as interesting as going through the original ones.

I'm on the NCL Bliss in January; I just found out the ship is too big to go through the old Locks. 😟😞 I'm a little sad about that; I didn't even know until recently that there were two locks.

When I trying booking a Panama Canal cruise with Regent Seven Seas, the earliest was this December, - but the suite I wanted was waitlisted, and later trips were also waitlisted. I should've just booked the Concierge D suite on Mariner for this Xmas.

BUT, the NCL Bliss is a nice ship 🛳️ (and has amenities the RSS Mariner does not - it would be nice if Luxury lines had waterparks and race tracks), and at least I will experience going through the Canal, albeit via the NeoPanamaAX locks.

Plus, it'll be my first time on Norwegian and on a megaship. 😆🎊

a reduced rate of up to 35% off cruise fares.

In almost every case, they will raise the fare, and then offer the "discount" off the higher fare.

So you end up paying (nearly) the same fare, as if they never raised it at all.

So I hear, it's not an uncommon practice. And, not at all the discount they would make it seem.

    🤷🏿‍♂️

At this time there are no restrictions for NCL passengers at the usual Mexican Riviera ports. As long as you wear a mask where required and get back to the ship on time, it’s all good.

NCL does offer beach/resort days at various ports. See your Explore & Plan for what’s available.

I looked and NCL doesn't offer the RIU Palace as an excursion. But, it looks like I'll be fine, since the resort closes way before the ship leaves port.

I assume they will perform COVID tests prior to re-boarding.

    Thanks

Your best bet would be to check out the website directly   https://www.resortforaday.com/   they have the cruise itineraries already loaded. If it is available, which it looks like RIU Palace is, then you should be fine. Will still possibly have to find your own transportation though as it sounds like it might not be an excursion "booked through the cruise line".

Have used Resort for a Day a few times on my journeys, and the actual experience is almost always worth the ticket price. Fully recommend.

This is the site my agent gave me, and this is where i found my resort.

    😄

  5. I will be on Bliss in January 21, 2022. My agent gave me a Resort for a Day pass, and I wanna use it at RIU Palace Pacifico in Puerto Vallarta on the 24th.

Will NCL allow me to use this pass at this resort, or will I be restricted to NCL sponsered excursions?

Also, does NCL offer resort day passes?

When I do a search on the NCL site, it keeps giving me links to this defunct NCL microsite that results in "Microsites are blocked" from all of my browsers, even phones.

  6. Thanks for asking this, I was just about ask the same question, albeit on the Regent forum.

VisaCentral states while fully vaccinated, I'll be allowed to enter Canada, but I believe I would need a negative PCR result 72 hours prior to arrival in order to transit through Canada back to the USA if I had a flight from Vancouver to Tampa.

I am 5'5" and I will tell you that the sides of those tub/shower units are so high (at least 4" taller than home style tubs, and no way to sit on the edge and pivot in)

Hmm? I'm 5'6" and I have always preferred tubs with high walls.

I have two at home; the guest bath has a 15" high wall that looks like it was made for kids.

The one in my bathroom is 18" and is still too low, though it is easy to sit on. I still wish it was 2 or 3 inches higher.

    How high are these tubs?

Although I would take a hard look at luxury lines for a world cruise, it's not apples to apples. This cruise is roughly twice as long as the Regent cruises. Too long for me but it's not a bad deal overall.

Yeah I know, RC has the advantage that they have the amenities to keep there guests entertained for 6 months. Those other lines focus on the destination.

If one can afford it, their idea of value v waste varies from yours.  That cruise is going to fill up fast.

Just shows how committed folk are to RC not to see their being ripped off. 61K$ for an inside versus what Regent, Crystal, or other luxury lines offer is whacky, BUT, they aren't party ships either. They are full luxury, RC is not. My point is anyone paying 61k$ to spend 274 days for an inside room is a waste of money. But as you said, some people will pay that for an inside room, even if they only use it to sleep. I just wonder if they will get the same service and experience as the upper suite guests who pay over a 100K$.

I should have clarified my earlier post. I would only do this cruise if in a suite. I have never done an inside cabin and never plan to be in one. What a claustrophobic nightmare it would be for that length of time.

Ditto. My first rooms on Celebrity were the 192 sqft AquaClass and Concierge cabins; so now going forward I need 200 sqft, at least. I understand why people sail in Insides, but I could never do it. And RC is just crazy bat turds. They should build a new all suite only (min 300sqft)  ship for a World Cruise.

Celebrity Central is on deck 4 forward right before the entrance to the theater. It is part of the Entertainment Court.

    Celebrity Equinox Promenade deck (4)C

See that's what I did, uploaded a pic of Deck 4. But the OP already knew that and just wanted to know if the iLounge was there is the same location as CC, ort maybe they thought CC was the iLounge?

  12. Has anyone been to Cabo San Lucas via Norwegian?

I want to see Land's End, but want something that sails right through and under the arch, if possible.

Did you do any of these excursions, what was the best one for you?

Sorry, links don't work if you don't have an account with NCL. 😕
