  1. I will be online at 1pm on the 6th Probably go for a P2 on Deck 4... no reason to go P1, so generally £200pp cheaper. They seem to have sorted that daft island in the PGs - the cabin is still long and thin though so may be tempted by a Q5 or Q6 (though those are only high near the bow, so motion could be an issue) I want to do fjords, so am limited it seems to QA or QM2, and QM2 is more expensive, so QA it is for her one cruise there
  2. They didn't even bother checking our Covid passes back in October... We must have honest faces?
  3. Out now... for sale on 7th Dec - sorry 6th Dec for Cunard club members Prices seem Ok ish compared with next summer Do Cunard offer any early bird discounts...am looking at a QA fjord cruise so I expect not as people will be wanting to try it out https://www.cunard.com/en-gb/new-voyages?utm_medium=email&utm_source=ECND1637 S24 Embargo Lift&utm_campaign=ECND1637+S24+Embargo+Lift&utm_term=CU-3792605&utm_content=cta_hero
  4. Ours for QM2 said 12:30 I think. We arrived at 11:30 and were on board 15 mins before we were supposed to even turn up (this was Southampton in October at the Mayflower- it was a very easy process; had been reading complaints about how long it took, queues etc) So we went for lunch (this was QG) I'd get there early, especially if you are Grills. They don't check the suggested times
  5. Better tea (the drink) in the Grills lounge, and quicker service for the afternoon tea. Also used the Queens Room though for afternoon tea as that's rather nice for one of the seats by the windows - it's low down on Deck 3 so good to watch the sea go by... For either, best to be there at 3:25... Grills lounge is only so-so as a room.
  6. Well... seems like QV isn't doing the fjords in 2024, so it's over to QA PG from £2699pp and QG from £3499 so prices no higher than 2023. I think I will be looking at that one; in P2 (no point going P1) or Q5 at the stern (there are 8 x Q6 right at the front, high - presumably those are the £3499) Looking at the June cruise which seems to be the only one on offer on QA. QM2 doing a couple. QV is in the med. Nothing for QE as yet... Just seen this...how does this count as "Norweigian Fjords". No good to us, we are off to Oslo next June to see Springsteen, no need to go again 😉 https://www.cunard.com/en-gb/find-a-cruise/M415/M415 Fjords seem under-served in 2024, unless QE is doing any
  7. The Britannia Club dining room on QV looks fantastic. BC prices seem to vary the most of any; sometimes not far off PG (so not worth it), sometimes much cheaper so would consider as an alternative to grills. Iona looks horrid - and over 5000 passengers - and I’m really not sure about the P&O livery with that Union Flag on the bow…not that it matters when on board.
  8. He may mean "restricted view" perhaps?
  9. You should have a standard QG cabin above you - probably around 9066 - you aren't far enough back to have open deck above. Look at where you are relative to the rear lifts You did say QM2? Seems that you are behind the lifeboats but guessing you have the lift raft barrels in front of you I think conversations have been about deck 8 club cabins on QV having noise above...?
  10. Lightweights... (literally)! Going light on afternoon tea certainly helps. Nice to have a cuppa (better tea in Grills Lounge) and the odd scone - they are quite small Yes, missing out a few supplementary courses at dinner helped
  11. You can. Breakfast is served early on disembarkation day. Even if you elect for self disembarkation at 7, you can have breakfast as it is FROM 7. Made that mistake... thought we would have to get off at 7, so went for 8am disembarkation to have a good breakfast before a day in New York - but could have left when we wanted with self-disembarkation On that point, if you aren't disembarking yourself with luggage, I recommend Apple Tags (or similar) to help find your luggage in the sea of cases; turned Find My on and the cases were 5ft away - Doh!
  12. Don't have large portions...which is good, because portions generally are not large. Quality over quantity!
  13. Seen the video. Very smart but looks a bit tight. Claims to be Q4 in the video so more expensive than the deck 4 and 5 ones.
  14. So deck 5 are revamped but deck 4 aren’t? The videos online are certainly confusing as they seem to have all sorts of layouts those 10 cabins back there. The middle ones have an island in the middle of the room. Yes saw some shower curtains… I can understand why 4 noisy as right above Promenade deck.
  15. Yes agree. For example only one this summer goes to Flamm.
  16. Just looking at some videos. Deck 4 corner has a huge balcony that goes up the side as well. There are videos of the various deck 4 and deck 5 rooms and they all seem a little different… I was wrong earlier. These are cheaper than QG mid ships. Mixture of Q5 and Q6 on decks 4, 5, 8. Q5 on corners, Q6 the 3 between. The deck 8 ones look smaller on deck plans. The ones midships look about the same size as Deck 4 and 5 aft but are Q3 Penthouse. About £500 per cabin more for a week. I’m leaning towards deck 4 or 5 QG aft. Summer 23 prices are “only” about £1k to £1.3k more than PGs.
  17. My recent QM2 started as a BC booking but the pandemic and delays moved the booking through PG and then to QG…. How did that happen?!
  18. Am very tempted with a stern QG on QV. It’ll be 18months to save up. Deck 4 has a bigger balcony doesn’t it? A summer cruise in North Sea/Norway should be ok for ship movement at the stern? Recent QM2 was fun sliding around in chairs during an art lecture in the Queens Room…
  19. First trip Recently on a westbound too (about a month ago) in QG. Pump bottles = less waste. Way too many bits of paper printed though. Service and food excellent in QG. Ship might need a refit but looked fine to me. Get rid of the baths and have a decent shower…
  20. £420 total… I do get $100 shareholder OBC… Quite like the look of the QG at the stern … but they cost a bit more again. Really liked the QM2 ambience even though I’m usually not one for ceremony, or dressing up smart. Just went with the flow and really enjoyed it!
  21. Some BC were redone in 2017(?) QV refit I believe - and/or some were added?
  22. Yes, saw that for other cruises. However when I booked QG for QM2 (18 months ago now) there was a slightly cheaper fare where they allocated room (I chose to pay extra to have a port side room going west this last October: glad I did - was lovely on the balcony in the sun on some days...and the wifi worked better there).
  23. Then there's the Britannia Club option - which seems to have the biggest swings in prices: sometimes not far off a PG price, sometimes a fair bit cheaper.
  24. 7 day P&O fjord cruises are all on Britannia (maybe) or Iona (no thanks). The adult only ships are all 12 day trips - which may be suitable. I note that P&O have summer 2024 cruises up - I think Cunard ones are due soon - maybe waiting on seeing when QA is ready as that was supposedly going to the fjords in April I think... Perhaps Cunard will have some early savers; PGs - I know, not oversold on the rooms - are almost all the same, though QG would be nice overlooking the stern
