I read it differently. As long as the two (or more) staterooms are on separate reservations, and the shares that are jointly held total at least 200 (or 100 * number of rooms), each room gets the applicable amount ($50-250) of credit.

I dug out one of my catalogs (the 2023 Europe and North America was handy), and found the following under Stateroom Amenities (p. 87): "King size bed (cannot be converted into twin beds) for Owner's, Vista, and Oceania Suites on board Marina, Riviera, & Vista and queen-size bed for all other suites and staterooms ...""

Just curious...Does Chase have a COVID (pandemic/epidemic) rider? Allianz added one in ~Fall 2021 which bumped up the cost a whopping $10. I don't think my credit card (Visa Signature) added one.

Not what I was looking for, but post 13 has a port day schedule for the Riviera (larger ship).

Looking through the daily schedules is a good way to see what is available; the problem is that they are hard to find online. There is a set from 2014 for the Regatta (smaller R-class ship) on the Preismans' blog https://www.thepreismans.com/bermuda_regatta_dailies.htm . Someone posted a full set this year on this forum so I'll see if I can locate them. The larger ships also have art classes and cooking classes, plus some additional sport deck options.

No we haven't used O's insurance, but I have a vague recollection that it was about 10% for a 10 day cruise; your TA or an O-rep can get a quote. My TA also recommends Allianz. We have a no-annual-fee credit union credit card that has a small amount of trip insurance (mainly got it for the rental car coverage). This year we have annual trip insurance since we wanted more than the credit card provided; the annual plan was only slightly more than the cost of single trip insurance for us. Other people have larger brand credit cards that for an annual fee provide quite a nice travel insurance perk along with other perks (I'll leave it to them to chime in since I can't remember the brands).

Yes, I could have been clearer, "Lounge (O and A only)" means O-class (Marina and Riviera) and A-class (Vista when it exists) ships. The "N/A currently" for embarkation times will hopefully get deleted in the not so distant future...sigh.

The Unlimited package is typically not the most cost effective one (if you're a spreadsheet nut like me, you can prove it to yourself or just believe the nuts 🙂 ), but is probably the most comparable to an all-inclusive ships shorex offerings. As an example, my 10 day Dec. 2021 Caribbean cruise had 7 ports and the Unlimited was $769; many shorex have no additional charge, but the spendier ones do have additional fees. The YWC required a minimum of 4 shorex to get the 25% discount. If you also have O-Life shorex (on this cruise it was 3), they count toward the YWC minimum. The 25% discount is on almost every shorex (I think "executive cars" are excluded...read T&Cs for reality). If what LHT28 suspects is correct and your itinerary does not show shorex yet, look for a similar one in 2022 or 2023 and you can get an idea of what might be available in 2024 (pad the prices for increases).

Travel insurance coverage varies, but the kind we have covers unused flight credits the same as completely non-refundable fares. I believe you have to wait until the credits have expired to make the claim (would need to double check fine print). It's worth checking you policy if those credits go unused.

Weird...Insignia's food service seems to not be in line with O marketing blurbs. On another thread it was pointed out that hot breakfast for room service is not available below A-category like it is supposed to be now (but on Regatta it is available).

There is one difference though...the first goes to Eureka (spendy shorex) while the second goes to Catalina (cheap shorex). The first one's YWC min is 5 shorex (if I remember ORV's previous post); so with 4 ports (overnight in SFO) you would have to do a shorex every port day to get the 25% discount.

Don't get in line for an agent. Have a way to get online or call you travel insurance concierge or TA. Those alternative flights will be handy, but not if you have to wait in line for 3 hours (real story when spouse was stuck in Dulles and spent the night on the floor with 3000 of his closest friends...arrived in St P 23 hours late).

Plus bigger under seat space! Backpack carry-ons are your friend, especially if you can hook them onto your rolling checked bags.

Agree @mauibabes my typical MO is DIY...love travel planning; I can spend days just figuring out how to get around a single place using public transportation and walking (had to go find that one special winery to bring back ice wine for a friend from Trier!! We were almost attacked by hungry cows but we survived.). However, there are times when life leaves me just too exhausted to lift a finger. That's when paying someone else to do the heavy lifting is a welcome blessing. Currently I use my local brick and mortar TA (love her) but I have to teach her about O; using Google, it took me less than 10 seconds to discover one of the frequent posters who is an O Connoisseur (or whatever the fancy name is).

I really though we'd spend a lot of time on the spa deck since we are introverts, but we got there once and only on an unplanned sea day (couldn't tender). You can always pay the $25 for each day you want to use it. I was surprised to find the Concierge Lounge so useful. We could pop down for a quick drink/snack for our room or when doing laundry. I hate taking electronics on vacation (phones go in the safe first thing and stay there!), so using the computer was handy for the not quite daily checks on the house/petsitter for emergencies. The Concierge was also helpful with getting an extra Red Ginger reservation in advance, plus he answered all of my silly questions about sailing on O and some unexpected events (ship circling around near Cuba to check a boat, stairs closed for plumbing issues, medical evacuation detour to near Key West, etc.). We only had room service once during non meal time (spouse claims twice), so ordering from the GDR menu is not a huge perk to us. However, if you like to eat in the room the GDR menu (when they are open) will have more selection. Most of the other topics have been covered so I'll leave my opinions for the next time this topic shows up 😉

Investing in a soft sided backpack-style carry-on bag is probably a good investment for those that don't have them yet. They fit under the seat even on the commuter-size plane I sometimes use between SEA and BLI. Squish it down and shove the personal bag in there too...makes a good footrest for long flights if your legs aren't long. My husband has often been allowed to keep his bag when others with wheels had to check. If he packs light it will sometimes squish into an otherwise "full" overhead.

My rule of thumb for determining likely O-Life tours is to look at the price in the "Unlimited" column. If the price is $0 (or N/A), then there is a good chance that the tour is included as an O-Life tour. CAVEAT - there are always exceptions!

I agree double checking is a good idea (and get it in writing!). The ultimate offer expired on the website, but (at least) one of the TA consortiums still has select (not as many as before) itineraries with the ultimate O-Life offer.
