  1. @57eric , As LHT28 said, don't click the Request a Quote box. To see how much the airfare-credit is using the online booking (simpler way listed at end of this note), click any of the choices in the Availability column (far right): Choose "NO" for air travel and Click on Next Step (bottom right): Click on Continue as Guest (bottom of pop up): Compare the Promo Fare column with the fares (e.g. C1 $2749 vs $2249) to determine the airfare credit ($500 for this one) Choose a category: Choose a room number Choose your O-Life Option: This is where the online booking stops being useful since it will not let you book a cruise-only (no air no O-Life) fare. Use a TA or book via phone to book cruise-only fares. The other way to estimate the air credit is to look at the cruise only fare, add half of the O-Life OBC; the difference is the likely (may not be exact) air credit.
  2. Or as I like to say, "I could bring everything I wanted, but Daddy made me carry everything I wanted" (literally). Too many things get heavy after half a mile 😉
  3. Lots of accessories for basic switchable separates and lots of layers worn onto the plane (Canadians know all about layers, right? 😉 ); wear you bulky shoes and bring small slippers...it can be done! No formal nights make it easier. We do 3 carry-ons (1 checked) and 2 personal items which is traveling heavy for us (no cruise = no checked bags).
  4. Not on Sirena, but bore da! I'm afraid my Welsh is limited to "Yma O Hyd" (full lyrics one day?) and "Aberystwyth" (fun camera obscura above town).
  5. I hate picky people but I'm going to be one out of local pride. For the longest time I thought Snake River FARMS, SRF (not RANCH despite cattle...that's in Wyoming near the Tetons) was just another local beef source at the farmers' market and the co-op...didn't realize they were world class. Lucky me 😁
  6. And in true O-fashion (where variations are everywhere!), our concierge (also veranda) was happy to get us an extra Red Ginger reservation. 🤪 Edit: and it was for a future day (not same day).
  7. Oops, yep, I grabbed a sea-day Currents! Port day typical schedule: Waves (Healthy Morning and Breakfast) 6:30am-11am Terrace (Breakfast Buffet) 7am-10am Waves (lunch) 11:30am-4pm Terrace (lunch buffet) 12-2pm Terrace (dinner buffet) 6:30pm-9pm
  8. Hours can vary, but here is a typical schedule: Waves (Healthy Morning and Breakfast) 7am-11am Terrace (Breakfast Buffet) 7:30am-10am Waves (lunch) 11:30am-4pm Terrace (lunch buffet) 12-2pm Terrace (dinner buffet) 6:30pm-9pm Afternoon tea 4-5pm in Horizons (indoors) weather permitting 7am-10pm (typically)
  9. There are also boutique (clothes, accessories, jewelry, etc.) and spa (hair/skin products, workout gear) shops onboard.
  10. Just to be clear, the Ultimate O-Life promo is not the same as regular O-Life. With Ultimate, all three O-Life packages are included which is where I believe the "true good to be true" comment was directed. I believe MEFIowa is talking about regular O-Life while the OP is talking about Ultimate O-Life.
  11. If you are looking at the Riviera TA in December, there is some back story that I may not remember correctly....the original TA was earlier, but rescheduled due to dry dock work. I've seen some comments that people don't like to sail just after interior work has been done because it smells chemically (new carpet, paint, etc.) or sometimes work is still being completed. We have a fall cruise scheduled that was practically empty until the O-Life Ultimate Sale. It looks like the UK sale is on a different schedule the the US sale if it is still going (I think US ended about June 6th or so).
  12. You're welcome...not the most obvious when trying to find. Mauibabes probably has the best use of credit that will otherwise go unused...a mani/pedi will pretty much wipe out $100 depending on which one you get. The boutiques might have something (accessories, jewelry, clothing, cool floaty globes, etc.) that either you or someone you buy presents for would like (early b'day shopping!). The spa also has hair/skin products and clothes. How about an Oceania robe?
  13. This link is handy: https://d1io3yog0oux5.cloudfront.net/nclhltd/files/documents/Shareholder+Benefit+FAQs.pdf #7 "...Certificate value credited to onboard account at the time of sailing and may not be used toward onboard service charges or pre-purchased activities. ..." For more, scroll to the bottom of https://www.nclhltd.com/investors and choose a link under "Shareholder Benefit"
  14. I am admittedly an inexperienced cruiser, but we liked Paul on our December 2021 Riviera cruise. He was friendly (but not overly fake friendly), called us by name, and we enjoyed asking to see his socks each day (he has a fun collection!).
  15. I logged on to my next cruise to check. In the tabs where you can add shore excursions, etc. there is a "Transfers and Visas" tab. This is what mine says, " Transfers You have no transfers Oceania Cruises provides optional transfers between the airport and ship on day of embarkation or disembarkation. Your Pre- or Post-transfers are included at no additional expense when you reserve a Pre- or Post-Hotel package." "
  16. Go check the next 8-day CA coast (Sept 17 which I think you are also on). YWYW is not available at all (O-Life is 4/cabin); similar itinerary (one port difference). It was practically empty before the Ultimate O-Life promo, so maybe that is why. Now that's a weird comparison...almost apples to apples, but totally different YWYW.
  17. If the cruise only rate is, for example, $2500 per person so $5000 per cabin, and the O-Life SBC is $600 (but don't choose that one unless you want a lecture on economics 😉 )per cabin, than the total fare is $5600 per cabin. Sometimes numbers are just easier 🙂
  18. Here's a handy link: https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ Depending on the route there is often a place to leave large luggage by the doors. I would think that trains between Portsmouth and London would have space for luggage. In London is another horse...may want to avoid busy times or take a cab. We've used the underground but only with carry-ons.
  19. O definitely make the website uninformative in this respect. This is where being inundated with catalogs is useful as the latest one had before and after prices; alternatively pdfs of the sale with before/after prices can be found at TA sites with a google search. The catalog/pdf only have example cruises, so to compare each category you need to note the before-price in advance (or have recent catalogs). Anyhoo...the sale is a really good deal for people who are flexible with time and itinerary. I was eyeing 4 itineraries. The best discount per day was a 10 day Greece/Turkey July 2023 cruise that had a $1000 discount on B-cabins. The C and A cabins only had $500 and $250 discounts which tells me they need to fill B-cabins on the cruise. Doing a similar cruise in September got ridiculously cheap even though the discount was slightly smaller. I've never seen an upgrade above penthouse. The upgrades to penthouse that I recall were A1 to PH3; PH2 and above were regular price (not saying always, just have never seen higher).
