  1. We had that problem on the celebrity Eclipse. When it was obvious they were not going to move, we did instead.Casual conversation is fine, but.....
  2. Depends..Quicker seating. Extra menu items are really nothing to write home about. We had Spaghetti & meatballs as a special(seriously?!) you'll sit with the suite pax. The new Sphere class in 2025 has restaurants dedicated to both the Reserve Class as well as the Suites. Similar to Cunard or Celebrity(about damn time!)The attention to detail is much better. No feeling of being "rushed". BabsinTX pretty much hit it on the head.
  3. Pretty much depends on whether the ship is full. I've seen people book a cruise less than a week before sailing(us) You need to have all your info. ready to do it on the spot as well as pay the entire cruise at that time as well.
  4. We book Club Class(now Reserve) we always have a 2 top table available. We're not too picky about which dining room, admit one more "centered" would be better for really smoother table dining.
  5. It can vary. We booked th Jan. 19 cruise(the 12 days version) last Jan. We got $400 OBC
  6. I'm not sure this applies to US travelers.
  7. I still wonder what the Cabana Reserve will look like. It's different from a standard Reserve minisuite. Perhaps someone has a clue.
  8. I guess well ask our attendant what they can do.
  9. Our cabin (A-2)has one of the extended balconies. Anyone have experience with these?
  10. I guess it means get to a show early for the best seats(pretty much what we always do) I would think that since Vista & Allura are pretty much updated versions of Marina/Riviera, they wouldn't mess too much with what has worked fine in the past. We'll opine about the next cruise when its done.
  11. We've done 4 cruises on Riviera. I have to say the shows were all quite packed. Can't comment on the other ships. We'll be doing a 12 day trip in Jan. on the Vista. Normally, we always found plenty of other pax after 9PM. A lot do gather in certain areas after the show. The grand bar/lounge is always a good gathering spot. As I stated the shows can be lackluster at times & the shows DO need to get updated. The single acts are often excellent.
  12. We remember this time when at breakfast a group of us shared a table & this guy showed up in in a really sleazy tank top & skanky shorts. This woman told him to go up & change as she had no desire to be looking at a pair bird nest armpits.(Her words, my spouse agreed with her) The guy got up & left. We're both a gay couple as well & sorry, but that guy ruined the "ambience".until he left. The stale smell of too much booze & smoke didn't help, either
  13. When we last cruised in Club Class shorts were NOT allowed at night.During Breakfast & lunch it was pretty much anything goes. Most seemed to show a little more class at night.
  14. Yeah, my father used to say that. I once replied who tells you, you're so good looking? He replied your mother. I shot back, my mother would never say that. You been cheating or what? The laughter was great.
  15. I've seen it rarely at night (in the MDR) they have been sent back to dress at least in cruise casual. Mornings & lunch I've seen it pretty often.
  16. Jeans really need to be nice ones(not with holes etc.)
  17. You'd be surprised to see who feels it's totally appropriate to dress like that. You'll see their posts on every "formal" posting blog.
  18. Go to Youtube & watch guests videos on Princess cruises. Basically a nice shirt & nice slacks(tie not really necessary) I would recommend a sport coat, again not really required. Just leave the shorts for breakfast & lunch. Same goes with crappy jeans. Just dress like you would for a nice, but not over the top restaurant. But really watch pax videos & use that as your guide.
  19. We've generally found the food overall is quite poor. We're both in the food industry. When having the Ultimate Balcony Dinner, it was truly outstanding. and show what Princess is capable in putting out. We have been in Club Class(now Reserve) and expect food not like this every night, but far better than the head waiter preparing the nightly special. In this case Spaghetti & Meatballs(seriously?) We ordered from Crown Grill that night. For those in Reserve & the suites the food should be of better quality considering the extra cost. We're booked on the New Sun Princess in a Cabana Reserve mini suite(whatever that is) The Reserve Class & Suites levels will now have rest. dedicated to those levels. Hopefully the quality will match the extra price. Mostly we cruise Oceania where Jacques Pepin is the culinary director. No comparison in food quality here.
  20. We've done this a number of times. We go to Guest services upon boarding & let them know our wishes. If the ship is not full you;ll have a decent chance. They'll give you a few choices & the cost. I don't recommend going through your TA.Otherwise you'll pay full price. Also don't expect much in suites. Most cases there are Concierge cabins. Do take advantage of all Concierge amenities that you are entitled to.
  21. That seems too high. Do more research.
  22. I recommend flying in the day before. We do this as it's winter when we cruise & a storm can really mess things up. If you choose to ignore the advice feel free. Just don't expect a lot of sorry to hear that.
  23. Personally, I think the prices are too high. We stopped doing it when the price nearly doubled in one year. Normally you should get a pretty full glass(this is what we got doing Odyssey & Le Bourgeoisie) The food choices have not changed. The Dom Champagne doesn't interest us as we both dislike Champagne.
  24. I would think you could book the new one & cancel the old one once on board.
