  1. I'm sure you'll find somewhere to sit with a decent view of the stage, if there's just yourself. There's plenty of stools you can move to a location you like. A lot of the time couples sit around tables for four or six, so I would expect you would get yourself on one of those.
  2. Glad to hear things are starting to turn around for you, Megabear. 😀 Have you been to see Pulse yet? When we were on last month they had had a line up change from January; the new female singer has a cracking voice and vocal range, and has a good rapport with the crowd.
  3. I had the same email today, for a cruise next March. Like you, we've had a few authorised that fall outside of the window. I think someone high up may have gotten wind of the liberal awarding of the benefit outside of the window, so they've put a new team leader in place; a really strict school mistress type. Woe betide anyone that steps out of line, they'll get their knuckles rapped with a twelve inch rule.
  4. Same as Selbourne, with HL, and we apply direct to Carnival. We've not had the email receipt for the last couple, but the new booking confirmation had come through within a few days.
  5. I hope it gets sorted for you. Best wishes
  6. They're still asking; or, at least I was this morning.
  7. Having already upgraded you to a balcony, I doubt they will stick you back in an inside cabin. With luck, you will get a decent balcony cabin in a good location.🤞 Enjoy the rest of your cruise; I look forward to the posts.😊
  8. In October I used the following address: paul.ludlow@carnivalukgroup.com I was contacted back very promptly by a lovely lady, who had the following title: Guest Support Representative, Office of Sture Myrmell, President, Carnival UK Office of Paul Ludlow, President, P&O Cruises She used the following email address: executive.correspondence@carnivalukgroup.com So, you could send it to both email addresses
  9. Before the pandemic we would regularly fly to the US and Canada, but now, having flown just once in a little over three years, our lass is not so keen to get back in the air just yet; hence, more cruises from Southampton. Things could change in the future, though.
  10. The last time I saw anything like that was about five years ago on Britannia, on the first day and at least one other day during the cruise.
  11. I've just checked my last request. I sent email on 2nd May for a cruise next March. I did not get an automated response. I received the confirmation email with the new booking confirmation on 5th May.
  12. We've traditionally booked as early as we could because we need an accessible cabin. That sometimes means that we are locked into a price for a fare that will get cheaper. We will continue to book like that for the 'cannot miss' cruises. However, now I am retired, we have more flexibility to look at last minute deals; if we get one then great, if we don't then nothing lost. We got a great deal last month on Arvia and, with them possibly struggling to fill the two large ships, that may happen again. The £50 deposit if booking onboard also suits us, as not a lot to lose if plans change.
  13. She also applied my BLC extra OBC, even though the current campaign is supposed to end this December. That probably means that it will carry on until next year. Right, just going to send the email for shareholder credit.
  14. Just the deposit of £50pp. As it happens, I was looking at one of ours for September, for which the balance is not due until the end of June. If I cancelled and re-booked, losing our £100, we will still save almost £300, and still have the same amount of OBC. You could apply the deposit to another cruise, but it would have to be one of equal or higher value and a select fare. You can only do that once though. I would expect though, that if the deposit for your new cruise is £400 for example, your original deposit is transferred, and then you pay the difference at the time of booking.
  15. If anyone doesn't already know, there is an additional 5% off cruises for 2023 and 2024; the last day to book is today. The discount is automatically applied. However, although the T&Cs state that it is combinable with the Peninsular discount, it doesn't automatically knock it off; so, to get both you will likely have to call ...and then have the kerfuffle that I have just had!🙄 It didn't pull across for my advisor, and her team leader said it wasn't combinable. I had to email a screenshot of the T&Cs, and she had to apply the additional discount manually. Forty-five minutes later, we're booked.👍
  16. We'll, I wish you had said earlier; yesterday I cancelled our next six cruises!🙄
  17. Perhaps, we'll see how it goes. One of the cruises we booked for next year has already dropped to a price that we would save money on by cancelling and rebooking but, as the balance isn't due for another six months, we'll hang on a bit longer to see if the savings could be greater. Another one, for which the balance is due next month hasn't dropped and I don't suppose it will. As Selbourne writes, the biggest savings appear to be after the final balance is due; therefore, P&O will be wise to chancers like me!🙄
  18. This is just the reason why we now favour booking onboard and not paying the balance until it is due; £50 each to lose is nothing at all.
  19. No more trouble for anyone than passing someone in a wheelchair on a corridor, so should be fine. The only obstacle I can foresee is getting it on the actual ship at Southampton. It will be too big for the luggage belt no doubt so, unless they manhandle it, you may need to take it through security yourself. Personally speaking, if it was mine I would rather do the latter.
  20. I've seen crew members with them, so I don't see why they wouldn't.
  21. Did you used to a code breaker at GCHQ?
  22. I've now got an image in my head of a guest walking along the promenade deck and flogging water for ten bob a bottle from a cool bag.😅
  23. We've used the above and I would recommend them. When we used them last September we were given a card and told to ring them for a good price, even if it showed no availability online. So, you could trying calling them direct. If you're really stuck, you could use one of the multi-storey car parks in town; folk on here have used them
