  1. To be fair, once the early queue to get off at Barcelona on our trip last month dissipated, it was a breeze on the shuttle run to the WTC and back again. Much better than Valencia and Marseille. Having said that, aren't you there just for one day rather than our two days? That could have been the difference on ours.
  2. If I were you I would go the belt and braces route. Download the form as per my instructions in post #33 and send it to the email address with an urgent marker. I don't think you'll encounter the problems that have occurred at the Ocean terminal of late with Arvia and Iona, so I wouldn't be surprised if they get you straight on, or you only have to wait a short while.
  3. I think Bob++ may have been referring to the obvious disabled bays at the bottom of the Google image he posted, near to the terminal, which I knew weren't anything to do with Triangle. Thanks for the additional information.
  4. That's what I was looking for, the bays with yellow markings that clearly look like disabled bays; but, on the section of the maps that I believe to belong to Triangle, I cannot see such bays. Below is what I understand to be Triangles borders: Would you be able to mark the bays on the map and repost? Thanks
  5. "loaded folk who have suites and/or are in the top tiers." Sorry! I was being glib, no offence meant. I'll get me coat!
  6. Not quite! In another thread someone one has just written that the bar prices have gone up. So, the cheapest pint of draught beer will now be £5.05. 😕
  7. It's not 'priority boarding'; that is the term they use for the loaded folk who have suites and/or are in the top tiers. For you, it will be 'special assistance' and, as Megabear has written, they do look after you at the terminal. At the very minimum you should be directed into the terminal building where there is seating. You can access the form on your Cruise Planner. Click on Before You Sail then Important To Know; towards the bottom of that page, on the Special Requirements section, click on More Details. In the Mobility On Board section there is a link to the form. Download and complete it, and send it to the email address given. If you have issues that aren't on the form, do as Megabear did, and include those in your email.
  8. Like me, you clearly have what our son-in-law refers to as two bellies, a savoury one and a sweet one.😉 Selbourne and I have a bit of a double dessert challenge going on for Epicurean. I tried it once, with mixed results (see here). I'm going to try and give it another go on Iona next month. Are you up for that action?
  9. Outrageous!😯 I'm going to write a letter of complaint. Dear Mr P&O....
  10. I totally get what you say about the disparity of available drinks throughout the ship; I refer to Arvia, but I did expect it to be the same with Iona. On Arvia, the bar area of the Keel & Cow appears to have the biggest selection of draught beers, and the ones I like, but I'm not that keen on it as a place to sit and relax. Given that it is often very busy of an evening, the Clubhouse has the poorest selection of draught beers; to the best of my recollection, just Birr Moretti (often replaced by Fosters) and John Smiths. I don't like the former and begrudge paying £4.95 for the latter. I would usually drink Punk IPA, but refuse to pay £4.95 for a 330ml bottle in there. So, after ordering for our lass, I would take a walk to Sindhu where it is £5.15 for a pint. Oh, and don't get me started on Guinness! Why oh why, on a ship that has more than four thousand Brits, do they not have Guinness on tap. Despite being from Yorkshire, I'm really not that tight, but I refuse to pay £4.95 for a 440ml can. Rant over!🤭
  11. After a belated start, where some folk thought you were still stuck in the queue outside or were driving around Southampton looking for a parking space, the trip reports are starting to come in thick and fast.👍 When on Arvia we seldom sat for a long time in the Atrium, apart near to the windows in the Amber lounge area of a late morning or early afternoon, where we would have a coffee. To be honest, I didn't equate it to an airport lounge vibe. When we are on Iona in a few weeks I'll open my eyes and ears, and reassess it. We never actually sat in Brodie's, but when we were at the slots near to it, we never had a problem with seeing nearby waiters and getting a drink. The same with the Clubhouse, where we were frequent visitors; we never had a problem with getting a waiter's attention. In post #188, Gettingwarmer writes about the disparity of available drinks throughout the different bars. I get that, particularly with draught beers; the Clubhouse suffers with that problem, despite it being busy of an evening. I get what you mean about Anderson's and the bar at Sindhu; we though prefer the Crow's Nest, where it feels more out of the way. As someone that eats at some really posh restaurants on land, I'm surprised at your star rating of The Quays for breakfast. We've not had a proper breakfast in there; the one day that we were up late we got there just as it was closing. When we were up early as we navigated the Straits of Gibraltar, I did pop in for a pre-breakfast of a single fried egg on fried fried, and it was very nice. We have passed through when they've been open for breakfast. I would like it more to a PI breakfast, but with the addition of fried bread and an omelette station. Here's a proposal: try and live dangerously and have at least one breakfast in one of the MDRs, and report back to us. In return, I promise to have a full breakfast in The Quays. Oh, and when you are next sat in a quiet bar, enjoying your delicious cocktail, try and work out how to rotate photos on your phone; I'm starting to get RSI in my neck. Just sayin' 😉
  12. C'mon man; you've had three months to work out how to rotate photos on your phone. Get a grip! 😅
  13. He looked over your shoulder when you were writing it; the invigilator didn't see.
  14. Thanks. I booked a year ago as it was a good rate. I've since learned about potential problems. Unfortunately, it's too late to cancel and rebook with another service without losing loads of cash. I'll take your advice and drop her and the luggage off first.
  15. We have, for Iona in three weeks. I'm a little bit annoyed as we've always been a wee bit earlier, and we've moved up a tier since then. We're using Triangle for the first time and I can't see from Google maps where the disabled bays are; can anyone help? Also, I can't establish the best route from it to the terminal with a wheelchair. If I know ahead that it's awkward, I may drop off our lass first.
  16. We're using Triangle parking at Ocean Terminal in a few weeks, for the first time. I haven't been able to establish where the disabled bays are; I can't see them on a Google maps image. Can anyone help? Thanks
  17. Thanks Selbourne 👍 I remember now that you previously posted about it, while we were away last time; but I've slept since then and had forgotten!
  18. ICF, you previously wrote that you intend to try the Norwegian tasting menu in Epicurean, but it has an 'enquire on board' option only. Do you recall from your Cruise Planner what day it falls on? I have a feeling it is the day of the first port, Stavanger. It's a little disappointing that you can't book it ahead; this is a must do for us and, by booking ahead you also benefit from the discounts. Perhaps, at the point of booking, they want you do choose either the regular option or the veggie one. Anyway, if you do book it, I would be grateful of some feedback; i.e. what day it falls on; is it booked slots as usual in Epicurean or, because it is a set menu, are they perhaps doing two sittings. Thanks
  19. You're quite correct, they had applied the benefit for cruises that are way in the future, including ours, but now they appear to be adhering to the T&C's. See posts #143 and #157
  20. We're on this cruise in June, our first cruise on Iona and to the Fjords; so, I'm looking forward to your posts. The Norwegian tasting menu is a must for us, so was counting down to when the dining booking options open next weekend. With what you have said about it being an onboard enquiry, I will have to make sure I get on the My Holiday app as soon as we get to the terminal. No hundred pound plus hotel for us the night before; we'll be at our usual PI in Newbury, at £49.
  21. Captain Camby is a petrol head, though; so, I'll bet he was a boy racer in his younger days.
