  1. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has, or has travelled with someone that had, special assistance with TUI to or from the Caribbean in the last couple of years, or is about to fly, but only those that were/are in the premium cabin. What was your experience like and where were you, or are to to be, seated? I'm particularly interested in hearing from those with or travelling with someone with severe mobility problems or using a wheelchair. Thanks 🙂

  3. As zap99 says, gel & shampoo pumps in the shower area and soap bars for the sink. It is White Company. If you ask your cabin steward they should give you a 150ml bottle of hand & body lotion, also White Company; I think they put them in the suites.
  4. There was no afternoon tea in the MDR on Britannia either. Your choice was the paid for service in Epicurean or the one in Horizon; the latter was dire!
  5. Don't forget your mixers! You can also take unlimited soft drinks onboard. On our last trip the eight of us took a shed load of cans so, with our eight different bottles of spirits, it was party night every night before dinner.🥃🍸🍹😄
  6. What's the 'red dot' code then; marking the cabin occupants out to other crew as troublesome?
  7. We were on the Britannia for the Baltic cruise; our son and his partner were next door to our daughter and her partner - D deck, starboard side. He was able to open the divider between them with his house key.
  8. Really? All the times I have taken trays back to the Horizon from deck 14, not once have I been admonished for doing so; in fact, the staff have always been grateful.
  9. Regardless of whether or not leaving a tray outside your cabin creates a trip hazard or indeed, an obstruction for wheelchair users, in my opinion it is not the done thing to create extra work for the room service/cabin staff in having to remove your leavings, especially when you are only one deck below Horizon. I'm not nor have ever been a refuse collector, but I agree with the lad from Scunny on this one.
  10. A comprehensive review of an accessible balcony cabin on P&O's Britannia is here.
  11. If we want to take a particular cruise we have no option but to book as early as we can, that is because we need an accessible cabin. Very often we get a good price when we book as soon as the cruise is listed, but in the current market there are savings to be made and extra OBC if you leave it late; no good for us though. Contrary to that last sentence, I have just looked at the price for the same grade cabin as ours (GC) on G318 - Iona to the Fjords. The price is £900 more than we paid. They are currently giving away £200 more OBC than we got but, taking that into account, the net increase is still £700.
  12. Yes, P&O have unfortunately closed the loophole of being able to launder your OBC through the casino. A few years ago we discovered by accident that we could, for example, charge about £80 of our OBC to our casino credit, play the slots for a short while and then get the £70 or so remaining as cash at the desk. You will find that it won't take you long to burn through it; on a recent trip with our three adult kids and their partners, after a couple of meals in speciality restaurants, wine for the table, and late night beverages in the bars, the old man had spent his £460 OBC within five days, whereas the wily kids still had theirs. 🙄
  13. That also impressed my daughter, who had a huge array of GF desserts to choose from, and those that weren't (in the restaurants) could be adapted to be so with notice.
  14. We've just disembarked from Britannia today, and it was only available in the buffet (rubbish) and as a paid-for event in the Epicurean
  15. That was the accessible bus, which we used; I think they had two running, and we were dropped off near Wisby Strand. On the return trip, although it was supposed to be for passengers that needed it, it was full of crew. I heard two different excuses for why shuttles weren't provided for all; one was that they weren't allowed because it was a Unesco heritage site, and the second was because there weren't that many on the island. It was probably more likely that TUI/Mein Schiff got their towels on them first.🙄
  16. We are on day 12 of 14 onboard Britannia. The main lunch and dinner menus in all restaurants we have been in have had a least one veggie selection on for starter, soup and main, and more for desserts. There is even more choice for coeliacs; my daughter has never had a problem in the main restaurants, and our waiter in the Peninsular always gives her the next day's menu so she can pre-order is she wishes. There is always plenty of veggie choice at breakfast in the main restaurants too. If you are a veggie and disappointed that you cannot have marshmallows, for example, you will be pleased to know that veggie marshmallows are universally used, and many dishes that traditionally contain gelatin, such as panna cotta, are made vegetarian.
