  1. They butchered it during a dry dock in February. Replaced a whole side with cabins (actually a retrofit back to as-built design). disclaimer: I haven't been back on since the dry dock, but that was the advertised plan. I'm not sure if we've had any boots on the ground reports since.
  2. I'm pretty sure he just made that up. But, you never know.... 🀣
  3. Then we'll look forward to more posting errors!! 🀣 (jk - enjoy your cruise and keep an eye out for Siglo)😎
  4. I can't for the life of me understand why anybody would want a magnet bad enough to jack it from somebody else's door. What are they going to do with it? Stick it on their refrigerator as a daily reminder that they are a thief? Give it to a friend so that they become a possessor of stolen property? What world do such people live in? They can afford a cruise but can't afford to plop down a buck ninety-five at the next port's souvenir shop. As I often say, "there are all kinds of stupid in this world." Yikes!!
  5. Do you still not understand that this is NCL's policy? Why would any poster in their right mind (OP and others) NOT take the free money? It has nothing to do with anybody "deserving" anything. Have you failed to take advantage of this in the past? Is that why you're suggesting that none of the rest of us should take advantage of a generous corporate policy?
  6. Would the air tags have made any difference?
  7. Wouldn't you do that before dinner?
  8. True story. I was on a Bliss B2B to AK last April. Glacier Bay is always the highlight. It is also when the OL gets absolutely packed. As you likely know, the view from the back of the Buffet is exactly the same view as from the OL. Both weeks, we went to breakfast early. Found great tables at the back of the buffet (in the bar area) and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. Before long, the crowds start running to the OL to find places to park their butts. We just kicked back in the buffet. They close from about 9:30 to 11, but they don't kick you out. The punch line? The bar never closes. They'll give you a fresh Bloody Mary as often as you like while you enjoy the great views and nibble on whatever cinammon rolls, etc. you kept from breakfast. Of course, the last time I shared this pro-tip I was accused of being an evil squatter who was denying somebody a table. Yes, while the buffet was closed. 🀣
  9. That must be the same department that tells people that 70% of specialty dining reservations are held back.
  10. You've lost me. I was with you up until this.... (jk) πŸ˜›
  11. Nobody ever actually told me that. I just made it up to make a (still valid!!) point.😁
  12. Thanks! It's great to be back from my well-earned "holiday." 🀣
  13. I have an upcoming cruise that I paid in full about a week before final payment due. About three days later, I had an epiphany that perhaps I should reprice to the now-guarantee only rate, which was about $600 cheaper. I called, rebooked/repriced and they refunded my credit card. Later on, they assigned an actual cabin, which was about ten feet away from my original cabin. Same deck. Same room configuration. So, I have that going for me. 😎
  14. I've been told that the smart thieves (oxy-moron?) will target the bags with locks, figuring that there must be something worth stealing inside.
  15. Wow. That was a long one! Only one of those affected me in the slightest (the increase to DSC), but inflation is happening everywhere and I can easily afford it. I will repeat that I have seen no "sharp decline in the product" (your words). My last cruise had some of the best musicians I've ever experienced. The ship was sparkling (Pearl) and I had a fantastic time. Breakfast and lunch in the MDR were better than ever. Bartenders were great. Cabin was always cleaned promptly. Fantastic holiday value!
  16. This happened to me last year. I stood there while the carousel emptied and our bags were nowhere to be found. Thinking ninja fast, and having come fully to grips with the fact that my brain isn't what it used to be, I dashed to the info screen. A sea of calm swept over me as I realized I had been standing at the wrong carousel. Moments late we easily found and grabbed our bags, as they were the only ones left at the correct carousel fifty feet away.😎 Yes, this really happened.
  17. Because that is NCL's generous policy? I believe that you are mistaken.
  18. Most itineraries don't offer the sail away option. As others have stated, the OP can book a specific cabin (or guarantee cabin if it's at that point) and opt out of the drink package/gratuities.
  19. I just use a good old fashioned luggage tag with my name, address and phone number.
  20. I take three or four or more cruises a year and have noticed no such "sharp decline." I last sailed in December.
  21. Have a great cruise. I wish I were sailing the Bliss tomorrow. If you like classic rock, keep an eye out for the group Siglo performing in various venues. I heard they were back on the Bliss. We enjoyed them on a B2B on the Bliss last April.
  22. LOL. Big data is REAL. If that means that my good friend gets an extra perk or two, I'm all for it!
  23. LOL. That's just because you didn't test enough! It's a world of Covid. Everybody gets the Covid. I would be saying the same if DW/DD didn't literally put my head in a vice and "insist" that I test. (think three stooges here🀣) I felt absolutely great when I saw that "dreaded" line on the freebie test. IIRC, the only "adverse" effect was that I couldn't go to the grocery store for a few days. Win freakin' win.😎
