I check every day to see if we can reserve it yet!!!  🙂

Following your thread you started and hope you’ll share information about Spellbound if you get to experience it on your cruise. I’d really like to see the menu for the dinner.

The mini suites on Sun will always have the sofa by the balcony. The alternating part of the configuration will be bed by the bath then closet and desk section or closet and desk section then bed.  We prefer the closet and desk section by the bath as it opens up the room and you don't run into the bed immediately. The Sun cabins are quite narrow.

We are booked in a Reserve Mini Suite in November. The cabin we selected says the sofa is by the entrance. Hoping this is the case as I want the bed closer to the balcony. I want to wake up, open my eyes, see the ocean and be closer to it!

And compare that to the description of a "regular" Mini-Suite:

"Choose a luxurious Mini-Suite with balcony which is substantially larger than a Balcony stateroom. A Mini-Suite includes a separate sitting area with sofa bed, and premium bathroom amenities. For families or groups needing a little extra space, Mini-Suites offer an appealing and affordable option."

The reference to a "balcony which is substantially larger than a Balcony stateroom" is a bit of a mystery. For example, looking at the Deck Plan, compare the balcony size of 11450 (MS) with 11466 (Balcony).

Yes the balconies are the same size but it’s the room that is “substantially larger”. Stateroom 11450 (MS) is 304 sq ft and 11466 (Balcony) is 236 sq ft. Perhaps if they put a comma after the word balcony it might be more clear that it is the room that is substantially larger.

“Choose a luxurious Mini-Suite with balcony, which is substantially larger than a Balcony stateroom.”

Or just leave out the words “with balcony”

”Choose a luxurious Mini-Suite which is substantially larger than a Balcony stateroom.”

If I book a Signature Mini-Suite, do I get in?

From what I’ve read I believe you do get in as the Signature Suite (same size as mini-suite) is a S9 cabin. Any cabin that is in the category S gets access to the signature sun deck, signature lounge and signature restaurant.

  5. I am so looking forward to sailing on this ship for 14 days in November! I will decide for myself if I like this new concept and if I don’t then I’ll be back to the Royal Class ships which I love, especially the Majestic.

I learned a lesson 2 weeks ago when I was on the new Celebrity Ascent. This was our first time on X and I had read a lot of negative reviews from people about the cruise line and the new ship. I had told my DH this cruise on X was going to a one and done. Boy was I wrong! We loved the ship and we loved X. We booked another cruise on another E class ship while we were still onboard which is something we have never done before.

So what I learned is not to form an opinion based on what others are posting (most who aren’t even on the ship) but to go into this new ship concept with an open mind.

My plan is to use one device to be on my phone or ipad, then my sister will do the same with the 2nd device...so for 2 devices we both get wifi, just one device at a time.  From what I have been told, this is allowed....they don't care what 2 devices are on at any one time.

Just off the Ascent last Sunday and yes this is allowed. My DH and I each want access to the internet so we can each have one of our devices online at a time. When we want to change to another device we disconnect the WI-FI and then switch to another device. It worked well for us and yes it was cheaper to purchase a 2 device plan than to each purchase a 1 device plan.

I am intrigued by this Premium Access pass for our cruise in February 2025. 🤔

Thank you so much for that description. Sounds perfect for me.  With some dietary restrictions, I try to do excursions without lunch when possible.

There were 3 appetizer options. Coconut shrimp, chicken wings and battered fish. I had the coconut shrimp with sauce and I liked them. My husband had the battered fish and said it was….meh. I don’t eat fish (except for shrimp) so I didn’t try his fish.

I assumed 6pm was the earliest dining time; is it actually 530pm?  Might switch to Anytime Dining if that's the case.

We were on Ascent last week and the 4 main dining rooms opened at 5:30 pm. We got right in and were able to get to the theater by 7:00 each night and get great seats. The 7:30 production shows were filled to capacity so it seems like they were pretty full by 7:15 if you wanted 2 seats together. People were pretty good about filling in the seats in the center rows we sat in on deck 4 to make room for everyone.

Was your "Two Island Triple Play" Nevis tour through Celebrity or private?  Sounds nice too.

It was through Celebrity and we paid $118.99 per person a month before the cruise. It was slim pickings when I booked and this was the only tour available at the time that went to Nevis. I would highly recommend it! Although it didn’t include lunch we stopped at the same spot as @hcat and were able to purchase drinks and appetizers. When we arrived at the volcanic hot springs and I thought this is going to be lame. I almost didn’t get off the bus but I’m glad I did as it felt really good. We had taken another cruise the week before this one and of all the excursions we did over the 2 weeks the Two Island Triple Play was our favorite.

  10. We are just off the Ascent yesterday and did a different excursion to Nevis called Two Island Triple Play. We also stopped at the volcanic hot springs and did get in the water, up to our knees. We loved it! I suffer from leg and foot pain and had no pain for the rest of the day. Made for a very enjoyable excursion. The water was hot, 112 degrees. We also visited the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton (reason we booked the excursion) and wish we had time to go in the museum. Our tour stopped at Lime as well but didn’t include lunch, we just ordered a very strong drink and a couple appetizers. The other main difference was our ride to Nevis was a 45 minute ride on a catamaran which was very enjoyable and not over crowded as yours was. I would also recommend this tour to anyone wanting to go to Nevis. We would like to go back to Nevis in the future and spend a week at the Four Seasons (our excursion didn’t stop there).IMG_6276.thumb.jpeg.5915a62c231ce54b2cf88c180f985e4e.jpeg

Do you happen to know how much the jackets are on board? Thanks

I think when we sailed on Princess in November they were either $50 or $55. They have gone up in price as I paid $40 for mine but that was over 5 years ago. Even though they have gone up I would pay the higher price for another if I ever have to replace it as this is my one go to item that goes with me on every trip whether, cold or warm weather.

For people who don't want to pack down jackets, Princess Shops onboard does sell an ultralight down jacket that stuffs into its own travel pillow. They're reasonably priced, and friends who bought them seem satisfied with them.

I purchased one of these jackets several years ago and I take it on every trip I go on even if going to a warm weather destination. It works great on a plane as a neck pillow and if I get cold I can unwrap it and I’ve got a snuggly coat to warm up in. I highly recommend this jacket.

Also another great place to get cold weather jackets is 32degrees.com. Their prices are reasonable and the jackets are very warm. I love their down jackets more than their poly-fill jackets. The couple poly-fill jackets I own are too warm. I took one to NYC at Christmas and ended up not wearing it even though the temps were at times low 30’s.
