  1. We had over 18 inches of snow here in Central New England last weekend. That's 45.72+ cm!! Just not sure how many dogs that would be.😉
  2. Oh I agree that these were very likely not licensed service animals. If HAL allowed them on with whatever documentation that was provided then they need to take a closer look at that process. The more feedback they get from passengers like yourself and others about the issues then the more likely they will review their procedures.
  3. If you look at my post #849 as referenced by @Haljo1935 above you will see right underneath the area I circled in the ADA requirements a statement regarding public food service areas and how service animals are generally allowed in them even if that overrules state and local health codes. Now what the policy in International Waters is I don't know but I do know that when the health inspectors come on board the ships they best not fine droppings from any dog or human for that matter in any food service areas.
  4. But even with legitimate service dogs there are some areas where things can be challenged about their actions as noted here on the ADA page about requirements. @Haljo1935 rightfully so presented HAL management with information including photos that seem to validate violations of part 1 here. The dog(s) was unleashed and at one point even ran into her room after she opened her door. If a strange human being did that,(ran into her room when she opened the door), don't you think management would want to at the very least question that person about it?
  5. Recent DOB(Dog on Board)issues on Carnival and seemingly HAL ships too have got the attention of CCL corporate who through spokesperson John Heald they were addressed today on his FB page.
  6. As I understand it the ship's security team released this photo of a suspect of interest in the missing scooter incident onboard.😉
  7. Well they are scheduled to dock at Honolulu in around 11 hours at 7am hst. They have the Crown Princess to their Northwest heading to Kauai for 8am hst, and the Seaborn Sojourn further back bringing up the rear, so they are not alone out there.
  8. Thanks for sending out your first hand reports of what is happening. It sounds like for the moment they are getting on top of this. In October of 2019 the Koningsdam had a similar incident but also lost propulsion then. Here is the report on that one from the Cruise Mapper site.
  9. I agree and that's why I posted the above nine days ago. Long before they were known as Donkeys the real name of these animals that goes back to the Latin roots was asinus. We need to respect A**es cuz after all it is the 2020's now. https://veryinformed.com/why-are-donkeys-called-jackasses/#Conclusion
  10. Right! Now if they started offering freshly trampled grape juice, I'd pay for it just to watch the process.😉 https://youtu.be/GJIckkur_HM?si=Q0ZXkYPz6lrap_IY
  11. If you only think of the many Caribbean islands as being nothing but beach hangouts then you will never enjoy the true beauty and wonderful food, culture, history, and people of those islands. Yes islands like Aruba and St. Maarten are heavily geared towards the beach culture and can get crowded, but others like Grenada and Guadeloupe have wonderful lush botanical gardens, waterfalls and rain forests. Martinique even has it's active volcano named Mt. Pele which is a World Heritage Site that you can visit. It last erupted in 1932 and it's most infamous eruption was in 1902 when over 30,000 people were killed(more than twice those killed at Pompeii)leaving the city of Saint-Pierre as a sort of modern Pompeii. If St. Kitts is too touristy for you take the ferry to the nearby island of Nevis, famous for its large Plantations and the place where Princess Diana took William and Harry when they were young for some quiet time away from the press. And finally after the disruptive hurricane of a few years back San Juan, Puerto Rico has come back nicely and it's old city and new city areas are well worth a re-visit now. The Carenage, Grenada...
  12. The roll call that was started for this cruise back in May was titled quite simply: Zuiderdam, Oct 19, 2024. Maybe with the re-invented itinerary which now more accurately fits HAL's name for this cruise as a "21-day Perfect Caribbean Escape" it should be re-titled or even a new roll call should be established.
  13. I posted in the roll call for this cruise a copy of the e-mail shortly after I received it from HAL last evening. I expect that the responses to this change will be mixed. Here is what I posted about the change early this morning...
  14. Really seems like a design flaw. People that would be using stairs to get into a pool are likely not those who want to go into the deepest end of any pool to start with.
  15. Here is a screenshot from a video that shows the steps on the Carnival Venezia lido pool.
  16. The Carnival Venezia has two set of steps with railings to enter on one end of the lido pool. This is the only photo I have found so far that shows the view from where they start as you can see the railings on both sides at the bottom of the photo. Views of it are also in some Venezia videos that are online. The upcoming Carnival Firenze has the same style of lido pool and will have these steps as well.
  17. That $150 would be equivalent to three meals in the steakhouse per person!
